Failure to stop policy changes before they are proposed and passed creates messes that should be cleaned up, but they are rarely lobbied for unless someone profits from the change. Now the law is own their side, which can make undoing their profiteering power grabs a challenging endeavor. This is the end result of over 45 years of "trickle down" economics, the elimination of defined benefit pension plans, the outsourcing of entry level, living wage jobs, and people stuck in low wage, no benefit jobs for the majority of their working lives. Add in rising inflation over this decade, and the situation only becomes more dire. And with the youngest Boomers now reaching retirement age, this crisis will only grow. For those younger people who mock these seniors, don't think this, or something worse can't happen to YOU, or YOURS. The medical care is inadequate, some facilities are falling a part, there are leaks & flooding in cells, bug infestations, etc. These places are inhumane and you want to say our elderly need to have similar facilities? They need to give the elderly more subsidies so they can stay in their homes and live with dignity. And don't even give me that, "who will pay for it" bs.
