Her is a note for all prospective buyers of laser tubes. I have been there, I have two T shirts to prove I got scammed twice!!!! Before I bought a third I did a lot of reseach. Laser tubes are very difficult to manucfacture ( I have no intention of describing the technicalities here) and there is one final factory test that is used to asses the tube performance and that is a PEAK power test. In this case the test was 60 watts from and input current of 22mA. Sellers always quote the peak TEST output, but this is NOT a value you can use. This will be a 50 watt nominal output power tube. My guess is that the tube is 50mm diameter and 1000mm long (a standard 50 watt tube spec). So point one, it is wrongly advertised as a 60 watttube. Point two. Vevor are just a large export company selling anything from safety pins to road rollers. They are not laser experts and have no knowledge of what they are selling. These cheap "old school" design tube with glass water jackets are manufactured in a specialist tube making factory in China. They will have been tested to peak value. IF they pass the peak power test then the manufacturing process succeded and they will be branded and sold with a short life warranty (maybe 6 months max) If they fail the peak output test then there is someting wrong with the alignment of those glued-on internal mirrors. It is NOT fixable and the tube is sold as scrap to a third party for "repurposing". One particular company fencing these rejects calls themselves K H Laser. and you will find VEVOR selling this same tube on Ebay. These third parties take the reject tubes and do a quick test to make sure they work "in some way", enought to befuddle most users who are naive about this laser technology.. As Phil has discovered after several replacements he went to a different vendor . Sadly Ten-High are selling similar B grade tubes with their own label on They do not manufacture tubes either. There are VERY few trusted sellers of laser tubes and if they are A grade then they will not be at a bargain price. An A grade tube for most hobby users will be a 6 to 8 year trouble-free trusted friend.. The extra money you have to spend up front is PAINFUL but you then fit and forget. I currently have tubes that are 5, 6 and 7 years old. A trusted source I can recommend for guranteed A grade tubes is Cloudray. They sell on Amazon. Ebay as well as at the Couldray website. Cloudray sell their own branded range of CR model tubes. As I mentioned, any rebranding should raise alarm bells but in this instance the products are A grade SPT tubes that have been officiially relabelled in the SPT factory and are fully warranted..
That is some great information. Thank you for taking the time to type all that out. It actually makes a lot of sense too. I will keep that in mind and hopefully it will help others out too.
Thanks for filming i managed to blow my tube on my month old machine don't ask bit of a problem with the water pipes and a bypass on the safety pressure switch. But a new one ordered from Vevor got hear today just found this video before i fit it so you timed that to a tee thanks Phil from fellow RUclipsr
I'm glad you managed to eventually get a good tube. I stick to ten high from Amazon now. It's a little more pricey but I have the added protection of Amazon returns
Not yet 😅. I have been so busy and keep forgetting about it. I have found all the parts that I ordered again now though so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get it sorted
@@philscraftcorner Hi phil colour layers should import but speeds and power will default to users previous power and speed test, but if i where to download your test it wouldnt work as my tube is 100/90w
I'll export the SVG too so that people can use that too. You would just need to adjust the layer speed and power settings for your machine and material that you are cutting
Re: a video from a year ago, the 7 layer cat Mandela you did with mdf. Link provided said Etsy shop no longer exists. Any chance of still getting the file? I just love it and now have a laser to try it out.
I have found the file again. It looks like they got tired of Etsy fees and opened their own website. Thank you for the heads up on the link not working. I'm actually planning a follow up video for this.... This particular tube died after a week (cracked and leaked the Co2) they quickly sent a 2nd tube that was also faulty. End story is I have a ten-high 50w tube now that actually cuts 3mm MDF at 16mm/s at 40% (12mA) power. I was engraving acrylic earlier today at 225mm/s and 12% (4-5 mA) hard to actually catch the needle moving it's that low 😅
Great question.....short answer. Not great, they sent a replacement quickly, which also was unusable. I ended up getting a refund and paying the extra for a ten-high tube which so far after a few weeks has been perfect. I am planning a follow up video for this though

Nice. I hope your install goes nice a smoothly for you. Good luck
Thanks have a good Christmas and new year
Very interesting and very pretty colour from the laser 😊xx
Thank you. It is s very pretty colour but I do not recommend staring at it too long or getting too close. It's pretty dangerous.
@@philscraftcorner Lol don't think I'll ever have that problem 😂
Hi eventually got a good tube from vevor after 3rd attempt
I'm glad you managed to eventually get a good tube. I stick to ten high from Amazon now. It's a little more pricey but I have the added protection of Amazon returns
Did you ever do anything with that old tube?? Couldn’t see a video you’ve done converting it.
Not yet 😅. I have been so busy and keep forgetting about it. I have found all the parts that I ordered again now though so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get it sorted
Hi phil you can export the file in lightburn to dxf or svg in lightburn,File,Export, save as drop down menu svg or dxf
I know that exporting SVG will work but they layers and multiple cut speeds will not carry over through the SVG

@@philscraftcorner I see not good then its a shame because they are a good price but i suppose buy cheap buy twice as they say.
I possibly got a bad batch. Both tubes were manufactured at the same time with the same QC signature
Scares to see people twirl laser tubes like a baton, but great video mate!
Do not put heat ony of the laser tube connections in any form even hot glue as the heat can and will damage the tube !!
Vevor laser tubes are garbage spot size is double of a reci ,buy cheap you get cheap.
Agreed, unfortunately not everyone can afford the best. I have had a lot of luck with the cloud ray tubes from Amazon though
