@@lessismore8533ofc not but the two shows are two different things. the reboot is based on the og but this is a modern drama, not a comedy. so you can look @ them as different shows, it’d be different if they made a reboot sitcom
This is MUST SEE TV on another level! If you were a true fan of the original, you will love and respect the similarities AND ESPECIALLY the differences. It is definitely an upgrade and the story lines are awesome. In the credits I noticed they have "guest" directors like Tasha Smith!! I love how they took from the original and turned it into the dramatic part of the series. I just finished season three and can't wait and pray there is at least three more seasons. WATCH OUT FOR CARLTON... he is the most troubled character in this series. Very hard to like him in season one. Will and Aunt Viv are awesome! Enjoy.
This is a great summary...but the maker overlooks some details from the original show. First of all, Uncle Phil wasn't always a judge on the original show, either; he was a corporate lawyer the first couple of seasons before he ran for a judicial seat. Second, the first couple of seasons of "Fresh Prince" made it clear that Uncle Phil was a registered Republican, even though he'd been a left-wing radical back in the '60s. The original show never really explored *why* Uncle Phil made that switch over the years (although he wouldn't have been the first '60s radical to swerve rightward in the '70s and '80s; look at Eldridge Cleaver or Jerry Rubin). It arguably *couldn't* do that issue justice, since it was, after all, a sitcom. If anything, this new drama provides a great opportunity to delve into that kind of subject matter in depth. It remains to be see whether or not it will. Time will tell 🤷♀
This was an amazing narration of Bel Air . From the video editing to your story telling of the plot, characters (pass and current) your point of view and guiding us though the episodes. I’m not a fan of dram TV. But you peek my interest. AMAZING JOB. To tell you the truth I forgot I wasn’t watching the show your voice felt. As if your were part of the series.
All these adaptations bother me, it's as though they know the writing is not strong enough on its own so they need to build it on a skeleton of an older proven IP and get that built-in fan base.
And that is exactly why I will never support this reimagining of a classic t v show, There was absolutely no need to reboot it and make it into a drama series It was perfectly fine as the comedy drama it was made to be for the 90s, I've said it a dozen times if you're not going to stick to the original material and stay faithful to your best ability don't adapt it!!!
Trust me, rich little Carlton can swim… he was just high… they have a pool, and trust the schools test you and it is a requirement to learn how to swim.
I think the 90's show of the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air is better than this junk, I guess that is why they only have it on Netflix and shit like that than national TV to get money from a different crowds than just to make it better it's really corny and none of the characters is like the actual characters on the sitcom either
The problem with this is that it’s not SUPPOSED to BE like the sitcom, when it was first announced they said it wasn’t going to be like the sitcom it’s a drama not a comedy and the show is pretty good if you’re not trying to compare the two side by side.
I generally like the new show, but they did Hilary wrong I mean she’s super different from her og form except the outfits I would have like Hilary smart but her dream is to be a news woman and she is kind of shallow and rich spoiled but she’s also a mean girl, or something like that oh and I would like the jazz likes Hilary but Hilary doesn’t like him and thru the show they would fall in love
The series vs the sitcom.... Who yall got?? Im an OG and grew up on fresh prince of belair and obviously love it but I really do like the series style just for the character development alone. Plus its really good too lol
Well the world is getting darker comedies become dramas guess who is playing wills dad in the reboot Marlon Wayans the comedy star of the 90s though he was in a serious movie which was bad because it had a worst ending not the worst as in it a bad movie worst as in everybody suffer a Terrible fate marion character suffer the worst
Will Smith was the bafoon in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that Jimmy Walker was in Good Times. America had gotten used to a bafoonish characters. Both Sitcoms tried to deal with modern issues by using comedy. The shows were fun but they dwelled on demeaning stereotypes. I always thought, what if "Good Times had be a drama and there wasn't so much foolishness?" Then JJ wouldn't have been a fool of a character, but a realistic example of a young black teenager living in Chicago's projects in the 1970s. Now seeing actors reprise the roles of the 90s sitcom with drama, I ask can these actors deliver the roles without it seeming like just another urban black drama? Just like the old sitcoms, I get the point, but I don't get the acting.
This has a biase racist undertone. Down playing sidelining the discrimination parts and Treated as nothing and that show who real is doing this reaction to a really good African American Drama. Fresh Prince is the Past Bel Air is the Future.
I get what the Reboot wants to be and I can respect that, but I'll always prefer the OG.
NOTHING beats the OG
OG is too unrealistic to begin with

Did you watch Bel-Air?
8:04 "Will then walks up to Carlton, smacks him in the face, then walks back to Lisa" - very funny, good sir 😏😏😏

Geoffrey is a house manager in this fresh prince of bel air version
Geoffrey is actually my favorite character in this new version.
All these adaptations bother me, it's as though they know the writing is not strong enough on its own so they need to build it on a skeleton of an older proven IP and get that built-in fan base.
Yup, that's exactly what's happening

Yup same with movies.
I grew up on the OG series, but I'm in love with the Reboot, I just hope more OG characters make appearances

When Will finally returns to Philadelphia, I wonder if Eazy The Block Captain will reprise his role?
This version of the Fresh Prince, reminds me a lot of All American, this Uncle Phil reminds me of Coach Billy Baker!

It's really cool, that they used the Girl from "Felicity" as the New Aunt Viv. And Bell Air seems like a Black version of The O.C.😅

She might go into that later on give it time
Hey retrosik. are you going to do the same thing for season three ?
I really love Bel-Air they did a great job rebooting the show for the Fresh Prince Multiverse 🤣
Hoping for part 2 looking at season 2
I really need LeMarcus to turn out Trash so Phil can toss Him Out the House Like Sitcom Phil use to do Jazz 🤡☠️😭
Yea sorry I dislike certain spinoffs. I just don’t like the new bel air. I had so much hope for this show but nope
this isn’t a spinoff it’s a reimagining of the OG. It’s mean to be like the opposite while still moving in the same direction plot wise.
I thought u were gonna say Carlton was an insecure coke head
I knew my name wasn't mexican 🤣
Wow that's Easy Da Block lol. Just call papoose smh lol
The old one is A-1 hands down!
Can ,Wait for Bel air season Two,
This is what I wanted to know.
Will u do season 2 also congrats for watching Velma and having a positive out looking it
I like the new version actually 😀
This is great!
I wasn't a fan of the new one but this is a very well done video

I prefer this drama remake over the original
No one asked for a serious version of the fresh prince of bel air if you wanted to remake it still keep the humor it’s too serious for me
Finally somebody notice it me think a me one realize it
Please do a comparison for season 2
Due to popular demand, it's being made 👍
