Hi Gasper. Very clever and useful trick! Stop If True.. much easier than adding conditions to each rule separately. Brilliant! Thanks for demonstrating. Thumbs up!!
So if i toggle formatting off, will it actually improve performance for large datasets? Or does it count as a rule, and performance stays the same. If it improved things it`d be a game changing trick for me. Im asking because i cant get my hands on a real dataset in next 2 weeks (covid), and im too lazy to create believable 100k+ rows, 50 columns set with formulas out of my ass. Anyhow, watched a few videos of Yours today, quality content, already subscribed. Thanks!
Thanks, Martin. Sometimes there is an easier way in Excel. I think we are programmed to search for the "technical" solution and not to think "there has to be an easier way" 😀
Just reloaded the file. Here is the link to the correct one: excelolympics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Conditional-Formatting-OnOff1.xlsx Thanks again!
Thank you for this. I’m not very good with excel and this is going to make me look good at work.

Awesome
Nice trick… I thought you were going to add “AND C4 = False” into each rule 👍
Thanks, Martin.

Same as Martin. I would have added AND NOT C4 in the existing rules
And it would have worked just fine, Ruben. But now you will save yourself two minutes for a relaxing off-time :)
Love the trick, hate the download file! Still, 👍
Thanks for that catch, Jerry. It's the all bellowed AutoSave playing tricks on me (again). I have removed it from the description. Thanks again!
