My uncle flew Spits during the war - not sure of his rank but his name was Peter Westover. I remember so many of his stories, and I wish he was still around to see this technology. A very good friend of mine who recently passed was a Mustang pilot over there at the same time, and he could fly that A2A P-51 like the real thing.
Just finished flying the mark 1 spitfire from headcorn aerodrome to Normandy then flew a couple of fly past by the white cliffs of Dover then back to headcorn aerodrome highly recommend this spitfire flys good lands goods as well
I get the impression that after any of us who have flown the A2A Spit or the DCS Spit, the MSFS versions always seem to underwhelm somewhat. There are always things that don't match up? That's just my impression.
I really enjoyed the review, very fair. I Few points, their manual misses a few steps e.g GEN ON, I did a few flights in the MKI last night. I used the power settings in the manual boost 4.5 RPM 2600. The sounds were "better" than with very low RPM in the review. Also, it was a shame you did not open the canopy at around 160-170 mph, the noise is fantastic and more like what you were saying, I think they modelled the sounds as they would be, inside with noise cancelling headphones on. Thanks again for a great review.
Thanks David, that's a good point regarding the settings. Those settings they quote are certainly a bit higher than I am used to in the A2A Spit but I will give that a try. I will be flying this again in another video at some point so things like this will be a good talking point!
Thanks as always for another enjoyable video! A very decent and poignant point at the end there as well. I've always found it somewhat "amusing" to fly different sim versions of the same aircraft; even just the visuals (let alone the flight model) can vary wildly and yet somehow one often doesn't feel any more / less correct than the other. I've been flying the FI MK IX quite a bit of late and was expecting to feel a bit underwhelmed with the visuals jumping back into the A2A Spit - on the contrary haha! I think it's fair to say that there is still only 1 king of the virtual Spits for the time being though! ; ) Cheers again, all the best!
Many thanks! Yes I have to say there is only one that sits at the top in my book and I hope to see in in 2020 soon, I’m just trying very hard not to keep saying that though 🤣.
given that, is A2A likely to produce a third spit for MSFS? Clearly this would be a winner from al the comments, but would it work for them? and being a non-owner/flyer of the A2A, what are the major differences?
@@transair27 it depends on whether they can get their Accu-sim system to work with the MSFS 2020 sim, the A2A Spit is a highly accurate simulation which was adapted to a MkIX and used by Spitfires.com (formerly Boultbee Flight Academy) to train pilots converting over to Spitfires. Check out this video, it will give you an idea of what it is about. It is part one of a tutorial series I put together for the A2A Spit in Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3d ruclips.net/video/aQiLmtlTcpY/видео.html
In a Spit-5b flying on the wonderful IL2 combat sim, I love the IL2 Kuban Black Sea region flying map best of all. I take off on fine prop pitch with full starboard rudder bias helping me to hold her steady as she speeds up on take off, along with one notch down set on nose trim. When airborne turning & climbing with wheels up at about 2,850 revs & perhaps around 8 pounds of pressure being well in control I go for nose up trim to climb slightly & wheel back 2 complete turns on the rudder bias wheel to take all the bias off, checking this on the turn indicator. Then I fully balance the aircraft to what I require for level fight or to assist a steady climb to my wanted alt at a reduced prop pitch to cut down those engine revs. I find having the correct prop pitch, cooling vent setting & trim setting for what I intend to do with the aircraft at any one moment is so important including when entering air to air combat to out fly the other guy or lady. This makes one far more dangerous to an attacker. On landing I set for a slight nose up trim on a curved approach due to the spits long nose which makes vision of runway tricky, nav. lights on to warn other aircraft etc., open canopy so I can jump for it & get perhaps better vision in good weather, fully open cooling vent for extra drag, drop wheels early at 160mph & drop those big flaps that do act like air breaks late on at 140 mph. When I touch down however I do tend to be naughty on the power when breaking on grass or on a hard runway, as I tend to keep some power on that fine pitch set prop during breaking to make sure that rudder has enough airflow over it to do its job at low ground speeds. Never cut all power on touch down as you may well loose rudder control when slowing down. No spinning round on that runway which can sadly happen with such ease in a spit. I find a Yak 1 or 1b far more forgiving. Perhaps this is a IL2 combat sim programme thing, but I think not. I taxi tail heavy for the very same reason then readjust before any take off. Combat at very low levels seems to require good prop pitch & trim settings along with the correct air vent settings to avoid being shot down & hitting trees, hills & buildings. Good trim also seems to reward you with good straight line speed & good tight turns if there needed to avoid incoming machine gun or cannon rounds.
Yes I agree. Trim is overlooked sometimes but it’s incredibly useful. It makes life easier for the pilot in that they don’t need to hold in a control surface input and also it allows for more precise flying as you aren’t fighting the aircraft. In the spit, as you mention, the one notch nose down makes all the difference on take off. This is very noticeable in the A2A Accu-sim Spits where the tail will come up gracefully and the feeling of the aircraft lifting off with the ability of maintaining a nice stable flat accelerated climb is wonderful.
I lol'ed when you swapped the central instrument panel for the hi-tech avionics display -- "OK, let's get rid of that!" Indeed, the "eww" was palpable!
Nice review, and an unexpected bonus to see you flying out of a virtualised Headcorn/ Lashenden aerodrome - I spend many of my weekend days at the real one, and from the little I could see from the cockpit view Microsoft have done a fair job of recreating it. I was hoping you might have made a pass over the airfield after take-off so I could get a better view, but no such luck! 🙂 For anyone who's a Spitfire fan - and who isn't? - Headcorn is often a good place to spot them. However, it's worth noting that most of the Spits to be seen there are the two-seater variants used to give joyrides to well-heeled passengers.
Thanks Mike, this is actually an add on Headcorn from Burning Blue Design so is more detailed than the stock Asobo/Microsoft one. To see a nit more have a look at ruclips.net/video/rVEQtkgg2-I/видео.html where Headcorn is the destination airfield. Sadly there was no Spit available at this time :) If you are on Instagram then drop me a message at instagram.com/dreamsofwings1 I’ll take some images of Headcorn in the sim for you.
I am a pilot - the ground handling on takeoff looks like a newbie pilot’s first take off in a tail wheel. The gyroscopic effect of the propeller requires active rudder control. The spit’s prop rotates opposite of a P51, so you’d need hard right rudder followed by left rudder to handle p-factor. I don’t have this version of FS, no one ever got this right on earlier sims. Makes me want to give this one a go.
Bear in mind, as I tried to explain in the video, this was my first take off in this version of the aircraft , and I was hoping things would be a bit more stable in this new version. To explain, I’ve flown the A2A Spit MkI and MkII in P3D which has been adapted to use to train real spit pilots. Even done a tutorial series on it. I also fly the A2A P-51 in P3D. What is happening in this version of microsoft flight simulator is that it has unnaturally aggressive ground handling, especially in take off and is seem across a lot of aircraft and I think we are all hoping it is something that gets addressed. It is widely reported enough. Once you understand how the aircraft behaves, you know how to adapt to it. The Flyingiron MkIX a good case in point…..and the same with this one…..having done this first take off here I now know that this has similar issues so know what to expect and understand how to correct. Thats what these first flights are about.
No, that's rubbish. If you are a pilot, you're not a Spitfire pilot. The prop on a Merlin Spitfire (like this one) rotates the same direction as on an Allison or Merlin Mustang. Only on the much later Griffon-powered Spitfires does the prop rotate the opposite direction.
Enjoyed the video. I’m getting to grips with it having flown the FI for a while. In VR it’s very nice however a couple of switches don’t work such as the generator. Door hatch won’t open or shut. I’m sure it will be sorted.
I am not a pilot just a simmer.I found this spitfire slightly on the "easy side" compared to the Flying Iron and A2A versions.I also tried inverted flight and had no problems, I thought the Mark 1 had gravity fed fuel tanks and the engine would starve. But, having said that I thoroughly enjoyed flying this version.
I have brought and flown it today. I loved the plane although I found three things annoying. 1. The mixture control flickers wildly and can't be used. 2. The external sound is rubbish (internal not so bad) 3. It does not allow you to look right and left as per the standard MSFS views. I know this was sold as not quite ready so I am trusting that these and any other issues get fixed soon.
Yes there are a few things and I believe they are working on them. Not sure if its the same but I had the mixture flickering issue when I started on a runway. For some reason when starting on a runway it starts with engine on but with several pieces of the checklist not active including mags and fuel cock on. I seem to remember when I turned on the fuel cocks in solved the mixture flickering issue. Might not be same as you are seeing but worth a mention. If you are seeing mixture lever flickering from starting cold and dark at a parking place, and you aren’t seeing that in any other aircraft, then best get in touch with Aeroplane Heaven.
Thanks David for that simulation flight of the Spitfire very interesting and exciting flight and the next time you take the old girl up it will be even better. Didn't hear you say Chogs away? 👍🤟😁
One thing to note is - if you spawn on the runway or mid air, it spawns in a bit of a weird undefined state as the aircraft attempts to be cold and dark but the sim keeps the engine running, so you end up with the engine ticking over and gen on, but mags off and fuel off meaning your engine will stop eventually from fuel starvation SIMPLE FIX -- when spawning on runway/mid-air either switch mags and fuel back on or, easier still, hit the quick start click spot left of the seat just behind the radiator cowl lever.
Ah they changed the sound in an update as so many complained about the sound in this first release version. Yours is meant to sound better believe it or not. Unfortunately this Spit still seems to suffer from poor sound, especially compared to the Flying Iron MKIX.
@@Dreamsofwings thanks for the info which makes sense now as to what’s going on. It’s a shame because the sound really seems to let it down. It isn’t realistic in the slightest for an aircraft that costs £30. Anyway, thanks for the great video again.
Well done. I'll probably get this. The scenery link did not work for me..... drat! Cheers. For that explosive, humorous sigh at the mod garmin option, I have just subscribed.
Need to a external ground view low flyby and hear that Rolls Royce Merlin engine roaring to test real authenticity. Nothing like that sound and very hard to replicate.
Yes that’s something that isn’t simulated at all well in this one at the moment but VERY well in then A2A Spits which will punish you very quickly if you dawdle.
Do you have any thoughts on this compared to the Flying Irons version? You mentioned at the beginning that you've tried the FI version too. I've not tried either, but would like to get one of the two.
The flying iron is a little more polished perhaps but then it has been out longer and had more updates. What I would say is that because one is a MkI and the other a MkIx there are differences to a point where you could have both. This was the video I made when the FI one was released. They have improved the ground handling since then along with some other things including the exaggerated effect from lowering the flaps. ruclips.net/video/mWxSabswIsE/видео.html
Yes what a load of rubbish MSFS really is, ie need also chaseplane for engine vibrations and ground vibrations for that extra realism...much too tame these planes from the new sim.....will stay with FSX, A2A were the best.
Hello there Paughco! Yes the Generator on I already pointed out in the video a bit later on as it isn’t part of the printable checklist for some reason. I should have picked that up anyway really but made a point of explaining that in this video. I still fly in P3D but hold out hope for A2A launching into MSFS because the scenery and the visuals are just incredible.
@@davidbalbert8394 I agree, this sim desperately needs Chaseplane. It’s such a pity that Parallel42 are locked out from bringing it over. It is such a great tool.
Terrific review! I agree, the sound is underwhelming, and that fuel pressurisation lever is just stupid. A plain right click, or something like that would have been enough, I would have thought. It flies well, though. I would have liked fuel starvation on the roll, but that may be patched. I reckon it's a good Spitfire MkI. know everyone seems to use the A2A Spitfire (which I have and love in sims I no longer use) as the benchmark. BUT, despite them saying that there are wonderful things in the wings, excuse the pun, there is nothing at all from this for this sim. And, they've had over a year to produce something. Also, will there be an A2A Spitfire for MSFS? They seem to be tending towards GA aircraft. But, we'll see. Eventually, one hopes. I'm writing this as you're flying. Did you notice you oversped the prop in the loop? Also the MkI had the Merlin II, 1030HP, which was not a snarling beast, compared to the 66, etc.
Many thanks John. Yes with time I hope they can patch these things up. I’ve also noticed that you can firewall the throttle and prop and head off on your merry way whereas, as you know from the A2A Spit, you will end up trailing steam and blue smoke very quickly! As far as I understand the biggest issue for A2A is getting their magic accu-sim system, the engine for all that beautiful realism, to work with MSFS 2020 when they only have limited access with the current SDK. There first release is almost certainly GA, which I can understand because that is where most of the market seems to be, but I see no reason why we won’t see a warbird following. Put it this way, I have everything crossed for it! 🤣
You know? Your voice, mannerism, and narration is eerily not dissimilar to Rotorsimpilot. I see the real likeness here, but i digress... Excellent production nonetheless ;D Thumbs up from me :D
Thank you! Funnily enough, as I’ve not previously flown rotary, I came across his video on the H145 when I was looking at buying it and I had the same thought!
@@Dreamsofwings Laughs* THEN... You guys NEED to narrate together! That will throw any viewers right off the beaten track :P Once again though, you, and both rsp has major production value, and i will tell you now... Please join with each other? This will benefit all rotor pilots from this point out. Good luck in all you do :D
Many thanks! Well I think we will see a lot more WWII aircraft coming out for this sim but I doubt you’ll ever see a full combat platform along the lines of DCS.
Almost ready to buy a FS; been a long time; any hints where I should start; warbirds in mind; I had an issue with MSFS Deluxe; wouldn't load and was told that I must reload win 10 from scratch; something to do with DLLS
Ouch that sounds painful. MSFS can be a little crazy with installs and updates etc. If you are talking warbirds in MSFS then you can’t go wrong with the Milviz Corsair. I was late to the party with that and is a cracking rendition of it. If it is Spits and you are looking to get your first then I would say the Flying Iron MkIX is good fun and has had a few updates. By the time you’ve cracked those this MkIa will hopefully be fully polished.
…..if it isn’t MSFS then the A2A Simulations warbirds in P3Dv5 are hands down the most authentic sim warbirds you can get. Just means also having to invest in scenery if you want that to look better.
@@Dreamsofwings Thanks for input; looking in the A2A site now for inspiration. I was a pilot of light aircraft and I build and ply R/C planes ( electric); so I have the interest; even have a joystick to start with.
@@mooch2amber3 fantastic! Good idea to get some rudder pedals too….makes a world of difference as you will know as a pilot. The T-6 is a great place to start. If you can fly that well you can fly any of the other warbirds. Hopefully it won’t be long before we see A2A in MSFS 2020
@@Dreamsofwings I am considering re-installing win 10 so that I can install MSFS; but it is a lot of work and time to do this. That's why I am looking at options!!
They’ve just released an update which adds to the realism and improves it though I’ve not had a chance to fly it yet. They are an interesting contrast really, the MkI being the first early Spit and the MkIX heavier and more powerful….more advanced. If you are into warbirds there is no reason not to have both really. As a starter the MkIX is probably less manual in terms of watching temps.
The oil temp came up immediately when you started the engine, the sound must come from a perfectly new aircraft... the stick doesn't look good despite it's such an iconically modelled part in a Spit.. the unlatched side door is so taken from the FI version. Quite stable needles. Well the FI version isn't perfect but it sure looks better to me. But I'm currently only 20 min into the video. Oh and... they really should have put a G1000 in.. for people who desperately want an aircraft for an IFR RNAV auitothrottle approach.. facepalm. so.... much... facepalm. And knowing their C140 I'm more than just reluctant.
Yes I would have to say that the temp stability is not what I’ve seen before in the A2A MkI and MkII. These early Spits were notorious for turning into a kettle if you weren’t careful and the A2A Spit models that very well. I’m not sure how much the base Asobo sim hampers developers ability to accurately represent these kinds of behaviours. The glass cockpit option is a bit alien to me in a Spit but I’m trying to give them the benefit of doubt and wondering if it’s aimed at new simmers who are used to having glass cockpits in a lot of the default aircraft and as such might be more comfortable in it. For me, I fly Spitfires for that warbird experience, steam gauges and all!
@@Dreamsofwings Jup, Spitfire for Spitfire and Da62 for Da62. It's an option after all. I think however if you really want to you can do a lot better in MSFS, PMDG basically proved it in their DC-6. Temperature can be done quite well and accurately in a prop aircraftand the FI Spitfire, although being an MK9, became pretty hot in my hands on my first flight without a manual oil cooler flap. :D We'll see what AH will do with their version and if they continue to work on it I might give it a go too. It's just such a beautiful aircraft, inside and outside.
@@marcoeland3405 yes that’s actually true, you are right, the FI Spit will punish you if you firewall the prop and throttle. I was being pretty gentle with this AH MkIa so I am interested to see how it behaves if you push then Boost and RPM. That will be my next flight!
They are both different enough, being a MkI and a MkIX that you could have both. If you are just looking for one then for me, and this is only my personal preference, it would be the MkIX right now but I fly the A2A MkI and MkII in P3D so I am getting my early Spit fix there
Hello how do you have such a detailed version of headcorn with 3x c47 on the ground and a harvard and too is it a mod or an add on in the game or something?
@@Nightdare i’ve not checked it since the update but it’s possible there is an exaggerated prop overspeed in it. You can hear it in the engine sound. I’m not saying that this is a perfect simulation of a constant speed prop, just that it has one fitted.
Cannot take off ??? ...Set the CoG to 35.5 etc but just rolls off to the side on take off, full rudder does nowt, pull back on the stick, elevators go right up but Spitfire just sticks to the ground !! When I check the CoG again its back in the Red !! Is there a way of clicking a "save" button in FS2020 to see if this is the problem !! Thanks everyone. I also have the flyingiron Spitfire 9 and this works a treat, but this aeroplaneHeaven will NOT take off for me !! aargh.
Wow that’s frustrating! I’ve not come across that one. I’ve not flown this since last update. Can’t get to sim at the moment but will give it a try at the weekend.
@@Dreamsofwings Thank you !! I follow all your youtube instructions, but on take off it swings wildly either left OR right, then with full elevator (at over 120mph etc) it just will NOT lift off !! @@Rc_nozza74 ah ok yes, so this isn’t VR, which I use off video sometimes, but it uses a head tracking system which translates your own head movements into head movement in the sim. It’s ‘geared’ though so to look behind you, for example, you’re ‘real world’ head travel is much much smaller than in sim. That way you can still see the monitor in front of you. Here’s a quick video all about it ruclips.net/video/CYbydhrS5lM/видео.html
Do you think it's worth it given we have the Flying Iron one? I am tempted as is a beautiful plane and love the candy features but not sure if different enough to be worth the price or if even meets their claim of the "Best Spitfire" so am reluctant but having had relatives in WW2 and being Jewish, I know how important the plane is and can't help feel that given they are totally opposite ends of the MK line it's hard to pass...
As far as it being the best sim Spitfire, and having flown many hours in the A2A MkI and MkII, I reserve judgement! However there is no A2A Spit in MSFS 2020 at the moment so if you don't have P3D or FSX then this Aeroplane Heaven Spit does give you the opportunity to fly the early marque that many consider to be the quintessential Spitfire. It is different enough to the MkIX to warrant getting it if you are a Spitfire fan in my opinion.
@@Dreamsofwings Awesome thank you for that! I only got into flight sim with MSFS so the FI Spitfire was my first and only experience and it seems many are saying what you are that if a fan of spitfires (I'd not nessicerily call myself a big fan, but I love Aviation and for reasons said above its hard not to have a soft spot for it!) then they are different enough and I agree this is the quintessential spitfire! I may wait for another review or two as approx £30 is quite a lot but I'm very tempted. If there was GTN750 integration then I'd instantly be sold. Also quick, you may have mentioned in video and I missed but can you toggle damage like in the Flying Iron's Spitfire or do you always need to be flying by numbers? Makes little difference to me as am managing the other one well but just be good to know and can't see mentioned anywhere. Cheers and Happy Flying
@@daradicalcavy5235 I am not sure regarding damage to be honest. I was quite surprised that the temperatures seem to remain low whereas in the real MkIa there was a real danger of overheating very quickly and this is modelled very well in the A2A P3D/FSX version. I might have to test it and find out the hard way but I would be surprised, given the amount of work they have put into it, if they have not built it in so that you need to fly by the numbers.
@@Dreamsofwings ah that's interesting. They probably will change it but having their C140. There's a few things they still haven't fixed that basically everyone is iffy about so to me I very much would consider it for how is rather than how may be but they do seem to work hard and care about their products
@@Dreamsofwings thought would update, I was tossing and turning on it a lot and decided may as well give a try. I am in love with it. @@Dreamsofwings great to hear, but why? what exactly sets them apart? I ended up buying the FI MKIX as I thought the sound was superb. But really interested in your view on A2A differences with this one..
@@transair27 the flight model on A2A is superb, feels very different. You can almost feel the air around it. Also the accu-sim system gives you a very realistic systems/state simulation and it is persistent state so unless you fly it right it will start to deteriorate. It is so authentic the A2A Spit was adapted to a MkIX and used to help train pilots to convert to type on the Spit at Spitfires.com (formally Boultbee Flight Academy). I can’t wait to see what A2A can do coupled with the amazing visuals you can get in MSFS 2020.
I wonder if someone can help me. New to MSFS 2020 and I purchased this AH spitfire but for the life of me when I try and take off it just veers either to the right or left no matter what delicate rudder or aileron inputs I do.
With taildraggers, and certainly these powerful warbirds it’s all down to practice, practice, practice. Key is not to apply power too fast. Hold the brakes, apply some throttle, but not too much that you tip over on the nose, with stick held back release the brakes and as the aircraft accelerates slowly allow the stick to centre and apply more power but with a Spit you won’t need full throttle. Make sure you check the correct power settings. In the MKIX I use +4 to +6 Boost max for example. If you apply power too fast and apply too much the p-factor will send you all over the place. You really have to work the rudder too to keep it central. Also try starting with stick fully back and to the right, as aircraft accelerates centre the stick so its central as tail comes up. That technique certainly worked well in the A2A Spits and also the Flying Iron MkIX. Been a while since I’ve flown this AH one so can’t be sure but hope that helps.
To use the The Fuel pressure cock, left click and hold down, then right click at the same time.
Thanks so much David. Worked a treat!

I think the fuel pressure swich is operated with the right and left mouse buttons. Still on the fence btw. Nice video, subscribed!
Many thanks for the sub! Yes you are right, hold down left button and select by clicking right.
Just like a real Spitfire, takes 20mins to get up and flying.
I lol'ed when you swapped the central instrument panel for the hi-tech avionics display -- "OK, let's get rid of that!" Indeed, the "eww" was palpable!
It’s just not right 🤣
Nice review, and an unexpected bonus to see you flying out of a virtualised Headcorn/ Lashenden aerodrome - I spend many of my weekend days at the real one, and from the little I could see from the cockpit view Microsoft have done a fair job of recreating it. I was hoping you might have made a pass over the airfield after take-off so I could get a better view, but no such luck! 🙂
For anyone who's a Spitfire fan - and who isn't?
@@Dreamsofwings interesting stuff, thank you - and all credit to Burning Blue Design!
Really nice cockpit. I like inside better than the outside.
Yes the interior is nice
I like spitfires nice planes. Famous planes. Wonderful.
It’s certainly my favourite!
Enjoyed the video. I’m getting to grips with it having flown the FI for a while. In VR it’s very nice however a couple of switches don’t work such as the generator. Door hatch won’t open or shut. I’m sure it will be sorted.
Many thanks! Not tried this Spit in VR yet but looking forward to it.
Yes if you fly the A2A MkI or mkII inverted it will cut out for sure!
Simply breathtaking!
Thanks 🙌🏻
Beautiful model.
The classic MkI shape is indeed stunning.
The engine sounded like a Lada having its nuts revved off during that loop 😭😭😭 lol 🤣
lol good description!
👍🤟😁
🤣 Many thanks! Yes will be interesting to see what she’s like now after the latest update. Oh and I am Rob 😀
The Cliff of Dover just look gorgeous in FS.
Yes actually quite realistic aren’t they 👍🏻
One thing to note is - if you spawn on the runway or mid air, it spawns in a bit of a weird undefined state as the aircraft attempts to be cold and dark but the sim keeps the engine running, so you end up with the engine ticking over and gen on, but mags off and fuel off meaning your engine will stop eventually from fuel starvation SIMPLE FIX -- when spawning on runway/mid-air either switch mags and fuel back on or, easier still, hit the quick start click spot left of the seat just behind the radiator cowl lever.
Good find! Yes I see that in my sim too
I just picked it up this week. Mine sounds terrible and your version sounds so much better. Not sure why.
Thanks so much!
Need to a external ground view low flyby and hear that Rolls Royce Merlin engine roaring to test real authenticity. Nothing like that sound and very hard to replicate.
It would be cool to fly like this in VR with the Yaw vr 2 motion simulator.
Oh that would be pretty amazing!
Man that start up sound was extremely unsatisfying... Spitfires pop, bang and spew out smoke. That was just instant :(
Old boy colleague, long gone, said they would take off as soon as possible, they would quickly over heat.
Yes that’s something that isn’t simulated at all well in this one at the moment but VERY well in then A2A Spits which will punish you very quickly if you dawdle.
This looks much better than DCS :o
Do you have any thoughts on this compared to the Flying Irons version? You mentioned at the beginning that you've tried the FI version too. I've not tried either, but would like to get one of the two.
The flying iron is a little more polished perhaps but then it has been out longer and had more updates. What I would say is that because one is a MkI and the other a MkIx there are differences to a point where you could have both. This was the video I made when the FI one was released. They have improved the ground handling since then along with some other things including the exaggerated effect from lowering the flaps. ruclips.net/video/mWxSabswIsE/видео.html
@@Dreamsofwings thank you.
Generator ON. Great flight! Thank you! Think I'll stick with P3D and my A2A Spit 2A.
Subbed wow! awesome!
Thanks for the sub!
My uncle died in that battle. Ernest Webster
I almost fell off my chair seeing that moderen GPS in there UHH
I still have nightmares.
Thanks so much! I think we are at different levels though, he is an expert and I’m just a rookie 🤣🤣
Beautiful video. Quick question will the be a WW2 dlc?
Many thanks! Well I think we will see a lot more WWII aircraft coming out for this sim but I doubt you’ll ever see a full combat platform along the lines of DCS.
@@Dreamsofwings That was my next question about it being DCS like. Thanks for the info and happy flying.
Subbed ! ACE!
Nice.
Thanks Sparks
so how does it compare to the flyingiron spitfire? I already got that one and I'm wondering if this one is worth an additional purchase...
God informativ video, thank's
Hey many thanks!
So what's the best Spit for MSFS? This or the other?
They are both different enough, being a MkI and a MkIX that you could have both. If you are just looking for one then for me, and this is only my personal preference, it would be the MkIX right now but I fly the A2A MkI and MkII in P3D so I am getting my early Spit fix there
Will it be coming to the MSFS2020 store?
I don’t know for sure but I would be surprised if it didn’t end up there.
Hello how do you have such a detailed version of headcorn with 3x c47 on the ground and a harvard and too is it a mod or an add on in the game or something?
I use this version from Burning Blue Design ruclips.net/video/9YXJQlf36OY/видео.html
"I've heard better" ...Agreed.
To be fair it has been improved in the update that has just been released.
Shouldn't the 1a have a constant speed prop?
Yes that’s right, that’s what is fitted on this Spit
@@Dreamsofwings
Then why did it go past redline when you looped???
Every other sim I fly works a treat with my Thrustmaster joystick so I know its not that. Including every other aeroplane in FS2020 ...its something i'm not doing right in yours ..lol Help !!
Everything in the cockpit looks good except the joystick in my mind. It's way too low poly and has low res textures.
Yes I know what you mean.
It’s a good job your not scrambling I can’t imagine the WWII pilots took this long
Yes that’s why its not a scramble lol, not the purpose of this video.
Was you fpv at all?
First person view?
@@Dreamsofwings yeah just with the way the head was moving looked like first person with goggles

But its only a spitfire not a woman geez.
Lol thanks
