already edited the ingame build guide. i tried to like tesla bullets here, but its just not worth it. toxic bullets has taken it's place to proc bullet resist shredder, and picking up escalating resilience for the missing fire rate of tesla bullets earlier is in the update too. hope you enjoy the build!
@@smeefuwell, you didn’t have anything on your fourth spirit slot until 17:25, so adding it after you get Toxic Bullets and replacing QSR for Cooldown in the late game could work
been testing out the build, i find that tesla bullets /feels/ better to buy when you're not going up against heal-heavy heroes, and saves you the slot of having to get resilience for the firerate. definitely pick up toxic bullets when there's even a single person running some kind of a heal build, though. i made a little edit for myself where the items are in a category of their own to just pick them easily depending on the scenario. also, i was running a similar enough build before you did this and i swapped over. making this video is gonna get us nerfed :P
After watching this video, I have incorporated a hybrid Gun/Support Build McGinnis. Basically building exactly like the video until intensifying magazine then switching to support. The 10k dedication to gun was enough to have power to clear out objectives/enemies and farm more gold in order to actually pump out damage and also support the team heavily. I have had very good success and had a lot of fun doing so. Thank you SO MUCH for the video!!!!

I came to almost the same build, but i prefer Siphon Bullets+Vampiric Burst instead of Colossus+Crippling Headshot. Vampiric helps a lot with gun startup&allows to shoot even longer. Siphon puts huge pressure on flying enemies, what's especially useful in current meta. Aaaand u run even faster, what allows to skip/delay Fortitude
I've always thought McGuinnis needed a half-rework. Her kit is just way too wide a range of raw damage, support, utility, and push power. Each one of those aspects strong enough on its own to be the cornerstone of any other hero's whole design. Hitscan turrets that can pump out crazy damage AND apply spirit effects (giving Torbjörn's turret CC!). Base gun that's in the top 3 of the game. Can be built into raw damage OR crazy on-hit effects. AoE heal that's flat out better than Dynamo's, a more dedicated support character. Wall that can be used to push, to escape, to chase, and can practically win team fights by itself with the right placement. Just a very solid long range damage ult. Feels like she could have TWO of those and be fine, with the rest of her kit redone to support that, rather than cover 5 different roles like it does now.

@@smeefu It feels like there's no effective counterplay to her, other than just praying the McGuinnis player isn't good. When she fails to utterly dominate her starting lane, it's more of a failure on her part than an accomplishment on her opponent's part.
This way undervalues her turrets, and the sheer power and utility you can get out of a cheap purple active. In my experience fleetfoot is the first and best 1250 item to buy for a gun build

@@super9mega it is in my build, just not that early, dont need to get it so early, rather get my damage up than my movement, and then buy movement to use the damage more effectively
Curious that I've seen a couple of your builds use QSR for the reload utility, which is obviously super helpful on some heroes! What do you think about Active Reload instead of QSR? Do you ever consider it?
Also, how do you feel about laning with only 2 stamina? Most of the time I've played McGinnis, the Extra Stamina is a laning item and then later Superior Stamina. Otherwise she feels super slow and clunky, and you need to be reaaally careful of her positioning. Anyways, I've really enjoyed your other builds! Looking forward to trying this one out!
@@africknchickn_YT i think i play so aggressively in lane on her that it doesn’t matter / effect me. it’s not me that has to be careful with positioning, it’s the enemies cus i will just wall them off from their teammate and then they die, very very very rarely do i wish i had an extra stamina on her tbh

Absolutely had a game where I was already standing at the Walker, Taking it out at 4 minutes, The person I was Lane against actually left as soon as they saw the health bar
I ran into you or someone with this build in normal games and I must say I hate it. Took down all walkers when people were team fighting and no one on our team could do anything because it would be a 1v1 vs Mcginnis and if we sent 2 people we lost the team fight and the mcginnis also was able to kill 1 person and escape. Well I'll surely run this build now
You should, it has a 60% win rate rn on MCGINNIS and it basically makes it where you have a free 500-1000 more health every fight, and it has no falloff distance, so you can poke from farther than 25m
nice guide, im really not convinced with the tesla tho, you call tesla trash on a char like haze which has higher consistent firerate than mcginnis and actually helps her snowball and farm at 8 mins when u rush it and i kinda agree, so how can it be better on mcginnis buying it in the midgame.
Hey brother, just recently stumbled onto you channel recently and have been enjoying your guides and videos. Just asking though, any plans on updating your haze build in-game? Ive been trying to play and learn her more after watching your guide, but i feel its a bit outdated with the late game itemization since it was made a few patches ago and most other public builds out there are lacking some items that feels like theyre an absolutel core and which style is better now; building to beam people, playing around around your ult, or a hybrid of both. Other than that, great video! This build looks fun and even though I've never played McGinnis I def want to try this build out now 😂

How do you deal with Geist? As a Geist main, every time I see McG on a side wave I know it's a free kill as I can just run her down with Malice and warpstone past her wall. Maybe all the McG I've played versus are just bad.
i will say this to you, mcg is very unpopular and largely unoptimised, most mcginnis players are flat out bad hahaha. but to answer the question, geist is really easy to deal with on this build, i go for a lot of movement speed so i can just beam her in the head and stay away from swap, if she goes return fire and decays me or something then im in trouble, but i will just use my movement speed to run and wall her off, done it a lot already
but a little extra info, the hardest hero to deal with on this build is by far infernus, it's basically a dps race since both of us have toxic bullets and healing
@@vekia3610 yeah, malice can be a problem regardless, if i get hit by a malice to start then i will just disengage unless im giga ahead, usually if i see a geist i will engage her with my wall stun and beam her before she can do anything
I pick McGinnis because I can't aim... Pretty sure that's also why they designed her gun the way it is, so players who are bad at aim can spray and pray. The fact that she has one of the best guns in the game seems like an accident.
If you don't really need Tesla Bullets to farm, and are more just using it to increase DPS and proc BRS, why not just skip it and go straight to Toxic Bullets?

On the second video of the walker you're past the 14min mark and the walker has -30% resistance, it might not be fair to compare it against the first vid
@@kewlito well that is the only fair way as it is a realistic time to have the extra items i’m talking about, you’re never gonna have that build earlier

@@smeefumost of the time I average 8-14 minutes for first walker. Intensifying magazine does most of the heavy lifting against walkers (a long with a heal boost to fire rate and fleet foot) but I'm archon 2 so I'm sure it plays different in those levels (I need to work on dying less 😆)
I don't think it will happen, it's okay to be strong as long as it's not broken. They tweak her every patch. (They just nerfed ult and switched turret from +1 charge to 25% slow)

Yeah, I was thinking that Toxic bullets and Tesla bullets were redundant. Have you considered adding suppressor to the build?

the raw seige power of mcginnis made me play her alot in solo q and honestly the best split pusher as of now

Full speed walking and shooting, plus an active that gives fire rate, he chose swift striker over it 😂

@smeefu That's what I figured, most McG don't really build any movement, so they can't run from me after 2+ Malice stacks.

I just tried the build for the first time (Phantom IV). I got demolished in laning (0:3) and still got Walker by 13:00 with ease
