Any suggestions for dancers wearing bun wigs who don’t have really long hair for the donuts?

I would mentally cry because of my mother pinning the bobby-pins into my head.
Do you have any suggestions for that?

I started doing my own wig when I was 10 bc of the pain. Never went back to my mom doing it haha

It would be good to have a face shield when you are spraying the front and around face area.
