- Hey friend,
It's been a while...how've you been? I've missed you! I've been okay, doing better. The past summer and semester was an absolute whirlwind and I desperately want to update you! However, I really really really missed editing and uploading vlogs so I want to start with that first. I did vlog throughout the summer and semester but I kept overthinking my editing and couldn't find any time to edit.
I feel really good about this vlog. It's a new style of editing for me (less music, more captions) but I really enjoyed the process and I hope you like it too! I'm making the vlogs a priority this year because I finally have the time in my schedule and I really love our community. Thank you for being patient with me and growing with me on this journey.

Recently been dealing with the most painful rejection i had. It was from my dream program and campus. What makes it even more painful is because i was so confident, not that I'd get accepted, but in this dream of mine, I had never been more certain in what I wanted to pursue. I worked really hard on my portfolio and I passed!! But eventually they had no slots left. And now I'm demotivated to even enroll back next school year, and tbh I don't know what to do next. That's why my heart broke seeing you cry, but I know, rejection can be protection over something that it isn't for us. I truly believe something is better for us❤️

I'm so glad you're back! Don't worry too much about that class, you could always try to take it next year. Also feel free to reach out if you ever need anything or to just talk to someone. I definitely understand the stress of junior year at SAIC :)
I don’t know if this is possible there, but at my University, you can reach out to the professor and ask if you can sit in the lecture! Most profs will let you do that

5:07 I wonder if this is different from wanting to create simply because of what you've experienced, not necessarily what you praise.
I think, this just means you have universal appreciation for the artists no matter what they make, in the sense that, seeing art isn't just what inspired you to be where you are, but when you imagine the effort and dedication and the emotional impact you gain from such an experience, you can't help but want to try. That *"connection."* You took this path because you knew you could make something out of it, not because somebody else already did and did it with flying colors.
I'm like this personally; I don't have a super big aim when it comes to my photography, painting or even my performance, still I want to learn as much as I can, so I can do as much as I can for the painting or the lighting, rather than for profit or an influencing presence. Even if I'm already at my peak, I don't want to lack knowledge, that in the books and real life experience. I am compelled to do this personally, so let me try to find my true potential, by all ways of the world. You know what I mean?

Also it took me literally till my second semester of Grad School to find an Artist i love. For me it was always loving Design but struggling with loving Art.

Rejection is so hard, but please don't give up! I had a professor tell me I just suck at drawing, he didn't like me at all and I still found other professors that could apprechiate my skills. Feel hugged!

i’m with you on the class issue, i unfortunately wasn’t able to take design or creative arts this year, which would’ve enabled me to apply for a spot in a museum exhibition that would’ve helped a lot with uni applications if i got in. im still down about it but watching you sad about it broke my little heart but also i was able to find some comfort in someone else going through a similar thing. maybe we were just not meant to take those classes! i wish i could send you a hug, but i’m sending you all my love and best wishes! you’ve got this :-) i’ll get my fix for art classes thru you!

I know this is 6 months after you posted this video but as an art student ( second year but first year it was full online) your videos are really nice to be able to watch. First of all, I’m really happy you’re back I missed your videos. About that one class, I’m not sure what that class meant to you but when I was in college something similar and unjust happened to me as well but honestly it was a blessing in disguise. I graduated a couple years ago and now I’m doing something I love regardless. You’ll be fine🤍
