Tanjiro has to talk to Giyu to convince him to take part in the Hashira Training...but the Water Hashira doesn't see himself on the same level as the others. He doesn't think he is a Hashira, even! This view on his own abilities started back when he was training with his friend, Sabito (yep...same one who trained Tanjiro) and he survived the selection because his friend saved him...only to be killed right after. Survival guilt is a terrible thing D:
