I feel you missed another Truly Alaskan experience and that is the Wilderness Float Fishing trip. Meant for those that don't want the noise of planes and jet boats, and want to be in touch with wilderness everyday. You can still target all the species you want and better understand the river and life cycles of those within by floating from the headwaters to the end. I've been guiding 8-10 day wilderness floats in AK for 16 years and have still not floated all of the possibilities. I prefer floats on rivers that have zero lodge presence or are accessed by "fly out" lodges as they are less pressured and are truly remote/wild rivers.

@Zach - you're not wrong about floats being a great option. They fall under section #5. We call it "Lodge", but the lodge can be a tent as well.

@@rWmyoutube Frontier River Guides of Alaska. One of the oldest operating float guide services in AK. We’re an established guide service with quality guides, incredible menu and fish some of the best rivers in Ak. There are other guide companies offering similar trips but I will say I think our operation is better having know their guides and programs throughout the years.

Love the video. My situation is a little different. The salmon are king in Alaska fly fishing yet I am moving to the Alaskan interior. This means no salmon for me. Mine will be more trout grayling and pike. Of these 3 I don't really know how to fish for any of them. A video on how to fish these species and the equipment needed would be helpful

"book your trip?" I live here..........and I love it!! King Salmon starts in May. Great description of the season. To everyone. DON"T RELEASE PIKE!! They are destroying the runs and lakes of the trout and salmon. Just saying. Beat em on the head and call it good.

I've fished there a few times and wacked a few Pike on the head. The guides get giggly sometimes when they watch one die.

My brothers and I go every years and spend half that. We aren’t sleeping in tents and have direct access to the Kenia. And forget King salmon. They should be listed as endangered species
