The EV depreciation rate is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! There isn’t sufficient infrastructure to accommodate the demand, especially for those living in rural or remote area’s. In addition to those living in condos, apartments etc. The Canadian and American Federal Government’s aren’t handing any of the situation around EV technology properly, as usual. As you said Mark, pro’s and con’s to it both ways. Thank you for preparing another outstanding video, take care, cheers!

They say it takes over 10,000 gallons of water to extinguish an electric vehicle. Fire departments will often let the car burn itself out, because water doesn't do much at all. They will put the fire out and the battery will burst into flames again and again.

My 2017 Chevy Volt was a great buy as a lease return back in 2019. 25% of my driving is with gas, and the other 75% is pure electric mostly due to free charging at work. The extended warranty came in handy to replace all 4 door locks and the shifter button. The battery warranty also switched out 1 module for free that went bad. For people who can charge at home, it is still a lot cheaper to charge than to pay for gas. I would imagine that insurance is also cheaper on a plug in hybrid than on a fully electric vehicle. I’m at 120,000 total miles: The gas generator has about 26,000 miles on it. It had 34,000 miles on it when purchased. My average mpg according to the dashboard is 199 lifetime mpg.

  • @conicEllipse

In my state in the USA, we have to register our cars every year. So, to make up for lost taxes for electrified vehicles, they tax you extra at registration time each year. If you have a hybrid, they charge an extra $250. If you have a fully electric vehicle, they charge an extra $500 per year. Personally, I drive so little that I don't spend anywhere near $250 per year on gas. So, it would cost me significantly more to have anything other than a car with an ICE engine.

Haven’t seen that here in California ev’s are becoming the more dominate vehicle on the road over here. Teslas on average last 200k before needing a new battery almost zero maintenance no engine just tires and windshield fluid. And if you have a home with solar charging is almost free. And with electricity it’s still cheap to charge a Tesla. I don’t see any issues with ev’s. And the new Tesla semis can go 1000 miles before needing a charge the motors have a twenty year warranty and they can haul more and pick up speed faster to merge in. So seems like ev’s in time will eventually make gas powered engines obsolete.

"PHEV is even MUCH even much better.....Simple as "CHOICES" with the proper choice in a Naturally Aspirated you do not even use PREMIUM gas but rather Regular gas. Best yet you do-not even use the ICE, resulting in Blow By under hood getting Oil / gas residue all over components under hood. With the best PHEV you get more power i.e. torq from using the battery in addition to ultra quiet and no fluids dripping on garage floor...So although ICE IMO are better than hi-Bred however NOT as GQQD as a quality PHEV.

I do not like EV’S. I am fine with them fading away all together. They are. Very. Bad for the. Environment. They don’t know what to do with them when they are junk. To get the lithium batteries they have to strip mine. The EV’S are no. Better than the regular gas powered cars.

And when your battery dies after 15 years, you'll have a $20,000 expense on a vehicle that's worth less than $10k
