Would like to point out your statement that "the higher the value, the difficult the item" isn't it incorrect?

Sir, I would like to clarify the T you used for the Difficulty index which is 40. Isn't it supposed to be 70 which is the total number of takers? Thank you for your response.

In a group of 60 students, 10 correctly responded the last item in the upper group, while 6 and 4 students responded that item correctly in the middle and lower group,
    a 0.05
    c. 0.60
    d. 0.30
    b. 0.33
what will be the item difficulty (p-value) of this item:

how about the upper and lower half?
Eight students have taken an objective assessment. The quiz contained 10 questions. In the table below, the students’ scores have been listed from high to low. There are four students in the upper half and four students in the lower half.

In calculating the discriminating index, you left the denominator at 20 instead of dividing it. Is that how it should be?

May I ask if why it is upper and lower 27%? Is it a standard value or we can use another percentage?
