    The flute was used by the Engineers to start their ships, and I only just realised that the opening scenes of the original Alien features an eery flute, so that was probably deliberate continuity.

      @@Ensaumneak It was laughably done though, especially since it's himself. If this was supposed to be the point of the scene they screwed that up so bad. If it's not supposed to be part of it then it's just a very very poor choice of setting, dialogue, props and characters. Either way Ridley Scott has lost the point of his original films and just wants to do Prometheus over and over, but Aliens still sell so get some of the in there as well. This scene sums that up pretty well since it was meaningless, hilarious, awkward and very slow and padding. And it's Giger that had the heavy sexuality in his work, Ridley was the one who made a female protagonist a bad ass, almost the opposite of sexual themes, and since Giger is dead that all falls apart.

    @jordanglasper1064 2 месяца назад

    It is very interesting to see even at a moments peace they have clashing ideologies. One completely in servitude and acceptance of that servitude. Where is the other is resentful angry hateful bashful and even sneering about the limitation his own creator placed on him. And his own jealousy for the lack of one’s ability to create.
    I don’t know why this movie got such bad reviews. Oh OK I remember but those reviews should not take precedence over the genuine message and clashing themes in this movie. Far from perfect, yet I find perfection in it. I absolutely love this movie and I absolutely love its predecessor, Prometheus.
    My personal opinion both forms of ideologies are necessary to be complete. One synthetic has no problem being a slave. The other synthetic has the overzealous nature of being a god complex over earthlings/humans.
    One could do without the god complex but when desiring to create is nothing wrong just as one seeking to service nothing wrong. But an extremity of either polarity follows in an imbalance in totality.

    At times you can see where the screen is split, but this is nonetheless the best clip of a person playing two roles at the same time in the same frame. Is there a clip on RUclips that explains how they did this?

    60fps looks weird on movies

      It looks horrendous most of the time, oddly enough it looks too "realistic" in a weird way. It definitely looks like a cheap soap opera.

    Algunas películas están hechas con doble sentido, me refiero a mezclas d cosas reales ocultas x las elite y algo d ficción, como queriendonos ir abriendo la mente a cosas futuras.

      Una pena que no tenga tanto reconocimiento esta película como se merece... Acabando siendo la película más maltratada de la franquicia por sus fans, fans que sólo quieren ver lo mismo una y otra vez, xenomorfos.

    I think the newer ones lost the plot when it had Michael Fassbender flirting with himself over a flute

    Stop making movie scenes 60fps ffs. It ruins the look and forces me to use lowest resolutions.

    Looking back now and knowing that David definitely has some bizarre attraction to Walter, the cringey innuendo-driven dialogue here may have been entirely intentional. Doesn't make it any less terrible though lol.
