This scene is/was so badass on so many levels. A subtle feeling of tension in the background the whole time bcuz you never know what Fassbender was abt to pull next the first time seeing this film... love it... "The weight of a cigarette paper". Even the terminology/vocab chosen for what he says to the fellow Synth in this scene etc... Very cool scene and great writing.

If it's not supposed to be part of it then it's just a very very poor choice of setting, dialogue, props and characters. Either way Ridley Scott has lost the point of his original films and just wants to do Prometheus over and over, but Aliens still sell so get some of the in there as well. This scene sums that up pretty well since it was meaningless, hilarious, awkward and very slow and padding. And it's Giger that had the heavy sexuality in his work, Ridley was the one who made a female protagonist a bad ass, almost the opposite of sexual themes, and since Giger is dead that all falls apart.

Assuming that they would some form of air sac to it emulate human speaking. If the androids have been made to emulate human beings for making humans feel comfortable, then it one can rationalize the existence of vocal cords and air sacs. Of course, this is just speculation and rationalization.
They are biologically engineered they are designed the same as humans only with synthetic organs they'll bleed they'll eat they'll breathe thats my theory anyway

Each to their own. I believe the performance of Fassbender was amazing. Nailed the portrayal of an android and gives an insight of what AI can be and do. It doesn't always have to be about mindless killing and streams of blood.

It is very interesting to see even at a moments peace they have clashing ideologies. One completely in servitude and acceptance of that servitude. Where is the other is resentful angry hateful bashful and even sneering about the limitation his own creator placed on him. And his own jealousy for the lack of one’s ability to create. I don’t know why this movie got such bad reviews. Oh OK I remember but those reviews should not take precedence over the genuine message and clashing themes in this movie. Far from perfect, yet I find perfection in it. I absolutely love this movie and I absolutely love its predecessor, Prometheus. My personal opinion both forms of ideologies are necessary to be complete. One synthetic has no problem being a slave. The other synthetic has the overzealous nature of being a god complex over earthlings/humans. One could do without the god complex but when desiring to create is nothing wrong just as one seeking to service nothing wrong. But an extremity of either polarity follows in an imbalance in totality.
At times you can see where the screen is split, but this is nonetheless the best clip of a person playing two roles at the same time in the same frame. Is there a clip on RUclips that explains how they did this?
