Do you have a projector amp for sale?
what are you using to hang you guitars here..?
Fred, I do have a projector amp for sale. PP 6V6 output.
Whats your favorite amp you built ? I noticed you dont have any receptacles on that wall, or you should have a strip to plug them in so people can test them to buy them.
That peavy is ki da what I am interested in trading for would sound nice next to my peavy classic vt series
And my wife is on my case "constantly" because I have 4 amps and 6 guitars. I'm gonna show her this video! Love your channel!
Addiction properly managed is called a collection...
"this is my meth collection"
LOL
" ...came from that hoarder's yard sale..." Pot meet Kettle.
That’s what I tell my wife!
This video came at just at the time. The last week or so I've been trying to figure out how to organize my space in my back room for my amplifier collection and test equipment. These shelves will work perfectly! Thanks Brad!
I have the same issue. I have acquired more amps than I care to count. I made an offer to a pharmacy that was remodelling and picked up a dozen heavy duty wire racks 18" deep. They line the walls of 2 rooms I use to build and repair Guitars, Amps, and effects. These shelves are a great way to organize your gear, or your basement.
I use a Two Notes digital reactive loadbox for recording, it has the capability of loading amp impulse responses (IR's). My first thought when seeing all those nice vintage amps/combos, was that I'd love to own the IR's for those amps/combos. I'm sure a company like Two Notes Audio Engineering would love to have the impulse responses for the amps that you own Guitologist. Just a thought, but, you could maybe get in touch with them and they could do you a deal for the impulse responses for those amps/combos.
cool collection. years back I helped refurbish a restaurant kitchen & used the exact shelf/rack units. still in use!
The “Chicago made” amp that you couldn’t remember the name of is an Ampower Model 80 from c.1947. I have one too, and it’s a killer amp. One of the first amps with tremolo, has a varitone-type switch. The only amp they ever made, which is a shame.
Christopher Kenney yep, I remembered it as soon as I stopped trying. :)
I hope that you share more of your projects as you work on/complete them - love seeing build logs/projects take shape. "I measured it to perfection" .. quote of the day ;)
I have one of these shelf units. I found laying some wood on the shelf really helps keep things level. It's a pain for the amp feet to fall below the wires. The room looks great now. Nice collection of amps.
That first view reminded me of a little music store where i used to hang out when I was a teen. Loved that place. Smelled like warm vacuum tubes and patchouli.
You have amassed one hell of a collection right now it’s more of an accumulation but once you get em sorted and kind of displayed then you have a collection lol. From what i could see you have some pretty interesting stuff! You have a few i would love to play through.
Came across your channel awhile back, started binge watching videos, because I dig the modding, and old components. Have a 1968 Kustom amp, and an early Ampeg VT-40 that I inherited, which both need repair. Hoping to learn more. Also decided to get back into learning guitar, after like 20 years, lol. Now I have a new addiction, is all your fault.
I’m impressed man... even a little envious I got really into amps so late!
Brad you have alot of cool amps bro . I never thought in a million years I would watch someone put metal shelving together for 20 minutes but I did , and I LoVeD It .
Sweet collection and the shop/mancave is coming along nicely!
I have had two of those Premier reverb tanks. Stupidly sold them both off. Funky!
I'm drooling over that Bandmaster. My dream amp.
I am running into the same problem at my place. I have stuff everywhere too and need to come up with some kind of a shelf solution like you have. I am gonna check out the ones that you used. Thanks for sharing!
Some jackass dropped my Seville Classics shelves hard off the truck and I had to de-ovalize a lot of the corner holes with a ball-pein to get them together. I got an assortment of sizes, some of the shelves are massive 2x5 foot things you could line up four little combos on one shelf. I have to keep my gear off the floor due to rough conditions.
Kind of a coincidence I just put up one 6 shelve rack (18") I got yesterday from ebay. Yeah, uline prices are insane along with crazy shipping. I wish my problem was vintage amp storage instead of a lack of food pantry space. Keep up the great work
Holy Cow!!!! That is right up their with my 32 trumpets ! LOL Mine take up less space though! That is really a neat collection!
I have a Rafael Mendez Signature Olds.
Hi Brad. I've been watching your videos for a litte while now, from France, love your channel, I wanted to thank you for all the really useful informations you bring. I own a Triumph 60, combo that has been turn into a head by a former owner, and I try to gather knowledge to tweak and maintenance it by myself. What a surprise to see that you have one too ! As you tell, a decent amount of gain at your fingertips ! At any rate (as you seem to use this expression once or twice a video), I just finished to rewire the footswitch for this amp. If you're interested in photos or schematics, I have all this. Just in case... Keep on with all this, Brad, thank you for all your help, and for now, take care.
PS: sorry for the poor english of a south-western french guy...
Thanks Sebastien! I'd love to see your info on the foot switch, sure!
Ok then. Let me gather all that I can, and I'll mail it to you as soon as I can.

Wow.. I don't like the word wish.. but to have a photo of me in my dad's amp collection room where I would run around at age 2 . Very cool. And thankyou for sharing the collection.
My pops space was pretty amazing all the same. Lots of fine carpentry and old school building.
Cheers!
Doesn’t pertain to this video, but i couldn’t resist putting a quad set of new old stock Russian 6550 winged C tubes into my 74 HD130. I took the risk bc the pin out was the same..
Holly mother of God brad! Never had I heard such billowing lush harmonic tones. Clean headroom to the ceiling without any loss of power.
Just unbelievable. I’m sure something may need biased or res changed?
No pixies sprayed out, and nothing over heated.
I've got it down to two amp setups.
Samamp 45 Watt tube dual channel tube one off. Built in Birmingham, Alabama. It doesn't have the multi watt design. He built it in 2004 or 5 before he started his company.
Soldano 4×12 cabinet Celestion 25 Watt top 2, 70 Watt bottom 2
Dr. Z Stang Ray 2008. Paisley designed Vox AC30 modded design with a Canabis Rex speaker. 1x12 combo
Listened to this video thru vintage 30 speakers...now it rocks ass 🔊. The new lair is looking good.
Anchor straps or brackets to hold them to the wall when toddlers gonna be around. Awesome collection you got going.
Cool video. I don't have any room. I turned my bedroom into a guitar and amp factory !!!!!!!!!!!!! My cousin from michigan got into closet organizer shelves back a few years ago and made a killing for a while.
Organizing is one of those tasks that's a bitch to start but hugely satisfying when it is done.
My biggest worry is flooding from a broken pipe and these shelves certainly would help mitigate such damage. Do you have a sump pump down there? My insurance agent wants photos and serial/model numbers for an accurate claim. You've probably already done this but close up movies of anything you'd want to claim in case of flood or fire ( God forbid) is important.
Thanks so much for the tour. You have a great collection collection! -Rick
OH man!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Ibanez RS 1000CS. One of the best guitars there. Love them. I have a collection of all 1983 roadstar 2's...
What a cool room. I'll keep telling myself that ill some day have 1/4 of that.
I noticed that Amazon offers an "expert installation" option with those shelves...for an additional $103.19 per unit! If you were hired to put those 8 shelves together for someone, would you charge $800 for your labor? Anyway, looks like those shelves worked out well for you. Everything looks great.
You'd almost have to be crippled not to be able to install them. Or just lazy. :D
Yeah, it's nuts. I imagine it's an option NOBODY takes, but it is there, and the terms are ridiculous.
Nice Brad, You got me inspired to do the same. The before amp fix looks like my living room! Thanks for sharing. See you soon.
World of difference. If you order some, do me a solid and use my affiliate link in the description to get to Amazon and search for your sizes from there. Help me steal from Amazon. :)
Will do.
thanks for sharing. I purposely didnt buy too many guitar stands as that would give me an excuse to fill them. Now i have 7x guitars just lying on the floor as the home is chocka with 30 something guitars.
Would be a good feeling to have everything organised and housed in their own place:)
I just ordered more wall hangers too.
How cool is your up-bringing when you grew up in an amp museum? I thought i had it made with a stack of 45's and an old record player!
Not quite up to the same amp numbers but getting there - have mine stashed everywhere - 4 out in the main shed, 9 in the living room, 4 in my study (buried under books) and 6 or so in the garage or other sheds. Never know where any are - sigh!!
Going through this myself. I'm using mubupper shelves for 4x10 guitar cabs (4 of them).
I've had to do similar things to manage my guitar gear. Have a similar number of amps, but more contemporary and varied in size. I've used the wire shelving from "The Shelving Store" to create custom dimension double decker guitar storage. I've got one wire shelf tower I found at Lowes that I use for amps, just holds 5 small tube amps, but I was googling "amp shelving" when this video appeared. I'm in the same boat now, i.e "maximum density" but I'll soon be looking to see how I can squeeze one more amp, a Supro 1622RT into the house. Anyway, nice collection and nice clean-up job.
Good video. I love that Supro combo on the shelf. Every Supro amp I've heard sounds awesome.
That one does too.
The Guitologist Im sure it does. I messaged you pics of that Crestline guitar. Will you see if you can identify the pickup in it?
Nice baby Diego fence review! Amp racks look great too. I'd definitely throw some thin plywood under the amps to help the rubber stopper feet. Great review and amps!!
@11:39 Look into getting a RAID hard drive setup. Basically it's 2- infinity harddrives setup like barber pole, mirror and stripes. Even with a 2 drive array you still have a copy. The redundancy is a safety and size factor and the cards aren't that expensive ie $20 for a 4 drive card and up.
I know this is an old video. You can actually buy shelf liners for these shelves, Just came across this video, very nice job Brad. Very nice display.
Very cool Brad, I only have 2 units for amplifiers so far. One day I can get it like yours, that for the inspiration.
I have a Hofma that looks like this guitar you show at 16:22 and it really sounds bassish. It's a folk acoustic guitar model of some sort. They are actually made to sound low like this, the thicker body resonates better with long wavelengths. I personally don't like nylon strings but this guitars are great with metal strings.
Now I just noticed the body is actually a little too thin for a folk model. the ones behind it are more like it.
I may have missed it, but did you put in wall anchors? You'd be surprised how easily the little ones can pull over a large piece of furniture, especially on carpet. Crazy cool collection!
Well, this is better than me moving to a smaller place a parting company with 3 amps. Sure, cheap stuff (crate gx65, vox PF and peavey SP112) but i loved 'em. Geez, less than $150 for all of them.
the room looks amazing by the way man!... your a very fortunate person!..
great collection Brad. I hope you have been able to catch up on some of those projects.
Hey Brad, I scored a working Peavey Triumph 60 12” combo amp with a ‘60’s Jensen 100 watt Vibranto installed last summer for $120. IMHO.....you can skip the foot switch because the “gain” and “ultra gain” channels are both just the nasty “clipping diode” variety of distortion which isn’t very useable unless you like the really dated hair metal band non-organic type of distortion. You’d be better off just running a good dirt pedal into the front end or into the effects loop. If you google “Peavey Triumph mods” you will find info on improving the dirt channel by shunting past 2 diodes. However, the clean channel is worthwhile and can blow your ears off if you’re not careful.
Thank You for sharing your collection with us :) GREAT VIDEO!
Belle and Sebastian, good taste mate, from my neck of the woods as well.
Love the H440. Two Power Packs and one huge power transformer. I hope the video for that one is massive! Valco is great! Place looks good Brad. Get rid of the thigh master!
I bet the Supro Piggyback is the awesome Statesman!
I had to show my wife this video to prove my amp room isn't that bad...she freaked out when you didn't vacuum the floor before you put the shelves in! I must be properly trained, 'cuz I just knew she was going to say that!
Oh man you have a diary of a mad man album, that's in my opinion Ozzy best work
Scott Riddle my fav Ozzy album is Speak of the Devil. Brad Gillis blew my mind as a young player.
I thought I was bad with the amp hoarding. I've still got a couple of vintage local amps I bought for projects and they're still sitting in the shed years later.
Don't feel bad about your 'Warriors' amp; I once found an old batwing headstock Dano for $5 in a junk shop because someone had done an Eddie Van Halen paint job on it before doing their Pete Townsend impression...the PU still worked, and I still have it...good job of organizing your place...
Good score!
I get a big kick out of your 'supervisor' always keeping a close eye on you. Great to see family involvement!!
You are SO correct about the Triumph 60 and the foot switch - I have the combo version that I bought when they first came out - it's a monster! I keep it in a ATA case these days. I hope you find a switch pedal - because these amps are worth their weight in tone! I also collect Mesa Boogies and would say the Peavey is every bit as good!
I'll build one from scratch.
Makes me feel better about my guitar collection. Now I can say I only have 15...👏🏼
Looks like you got work for the next thousand years.good luck on all your projects.Cheers
I now want to play an explorer into the discoverer.
And boldly go....
for me it would be the land of dud notes & bad chords. I never knew of those amps but as soon as you said Discoverer i thought Explorer. Epiphone should do it as starter pack.
Looks great I’m going to be doing the same thing in my storage room👍🏻👍🏻
Great collection! I wish I was more of a collector. I've had some great amps pass through my hands over the years but the profits made soothed the sellers remorse! :D
Hey Brad... I can tell you are hinting about how busy you are but do you reckon you could fix my ********** inbetween all this other stuff? What about doing a Baldwin or Burns if you have one ?? Good vid. Cheers to you and your family.
Haha. Thank man.
Love the Spinal Tap Shirt, where did you get it? And was that space where here your amps are already exist? Or did you build it? I think your work space looks great and once you have it completely organized make another video.
Belle and Sebastian nice!!! That surprised me for some reason, I've been watching now for a few years but I missed this one somehow. For as much as I see you play we really don't know what you listen to that much, maybe you should add some quick music mentions.
at 0:38, the face is priceless!
Good stuff Brad. Have a sound weekend mate.
Thanks brothaman.
Nice Brad ... you're well on your way to having your very own amp museum
Nice work man. Glad to see things coming together.
Suggestion for you: with your child in the centre, consider anchoring each shelf to a wall stud, just in case something gets un-balanced.
It would suck bad if your Little Darling grabbed a shelf and pulled all of those heavy amps down on her.
looks good man. seems to be a lot of moisture coming out of your heater, is that a problem where you're storing your instruments or do you live somewhere dry enough to compensate?
Low humidity is a problem in winter. It's a humidifier.
What is your favorite amp?
What is in your opinion the sleeper tube amp of your collection?(i mean most of yours are slightly obscure) but you get what im saying
Best hidden gems
Clean tones and dirt devils
I would love to sit in the 'amp closet' and play guitar all night :)
I got a gear hoarde too... Those are fun. Need a strobotuner? I got 2 ready to sell now... Beautiful.. Love those things.
DeadKoby I have one. Rarely use it.
Compare the accuracy of intonation with a strobe... vs. your china pocket tuner. The difference is amazing.
Those are great shelves. We have two in our garage.
In the garage, I need to build some more wooden ones. Can never have too much storage space.
How much weight can they handle ? A lot of amps are heavy I’m pretty sure
Great collection! Although I can only imagine how much work is maintaining all of them. The storage shelves were definitely a good idea.
better to build your own shelves. the side support rails and the hassle of trying to fit them in the space makes the store bought shelves a hassle. you can also directly screw into studs with metal brackets and then use 1/2 inch ply. I went through same scenario with my stuff.
You may need to reinforce those shelving units.A sheet of k-3 might be in order.
Wow, Brad! The space looks great! Consider yourself lucky :) to have such a space like that. In my neck of the woods you generally don't see basements in homes. Anyway, the setup looks great too!
It would have been cheaper and faster yet to put up a 10 foot Led Zepplin tapestry ,check your local head shed for pricing! You could still do it!Walkway to amp heaven....maybe you need a stairway too....🤔

Awesome collection man, I want to get into a cool little vintage amp I just don't really know what I want. I've been playing for over 30 years but always rock, metal, blues, on 1980's and newer gear. I'm just now catching the vintage gear fever, I played through an old silver tone at guitar center and loved the heck out of it but they wanted $800 for it and it needed a ton of work. The tubes were almost toast and the speaker was starting to go too. It also had the old 2 prong cord witch makes me uneasy. any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, maybe I could purchase an amp from your awesome collection.
Email me and we can talk about it. Did any catch your eye? Bradlinzy at gmail
i have a really oil believe late 50's early 60's norma 15 watt amplifier its a little rough but not to bad have you heard or seen one cause if it's a oddity i'd like to restore it?
thats a SWEET COLLECTION!!!
Great collection! The little white (tan?) guitar case at 15:39: Is that a bottom loader case for a terz guitar? Is the guitar that goes with it branded "Columbus"? I've got a similar case for a Columbus and I have virtually no information about the guitar other than I suspect it's a Regal.
Do you sell any, or do you just have the super cool hoarding thing going on? Oh, cool t-shirt btw. Any of your amps go to 11?
They're ALL for sale.
Belle and Sebastian vinyl! Lol now I know why I like your channel.😁
We have Supro, Dano, and 2 Gibson amps in common. Not counting common Fenders, etc. I’m sure you have that I have.
You have inspired me to buy a multi meter to learn how to work on guitars and amps. Let the sparks fly....lol.
That style of shelving are known for slipping down. Some of those amps can get pretty heavy. I’d make sure I keep all the big, heavy ones on the bottom racks. Those plastic inserts that go inside the shelf corners can slip down. I think I would build custom wooden shelving for those priceless classics.
I have a Laney solid state 2x12 stereo chorus. It is about a 1986 vintage. It is in very good condition. Are you interested in it?
Wow! Awesome collection, man!
All the old amps and I'd still like to know what Peavey amp was on the shelf.
Also what size of hangers did you get for the acoustics? I was going to buy a couple of those racks and didn't want them hanging off as far as you have them. Might save me some trial and error.
Thanks for the videos!
Not sure. The longer ones are best for dread and jumbo. You can squeeze more in the wall.
Looks like stacks of fun bro, thanks for sharing. ATB
What is the most effective way to mike-up a Leslie cab ? Thanks for another great video !
Leslie positioned in middle of room. THREE omnidirectional condenser microphones. One on each side of the cab a few feet away and a third in the middle. Record all three at once and pan accordingly in the mix.
If you have a Sam's club or Costco card i believe you could have gotten a better deal, the rack might be a little different but you would save about $30 a rack
If you plug a power bar into the socket, and zip tie it to the front leg of the shelf, you'd have easy access to plug in your amps or a vacuum.
Your videos have been very informative - thanks for sharing your knowledge!
If you could keep only one, which one would it be?
Nice shelves, I bought something similar from Lowes the only differences is that mine have adjustable wood shelves. Wow Looks great, I live in Lexington and I need to drive to Louisville and buy one of these off you. I will need to wait until after Christmas. I will send uyou a PM in January. That is if you are willing to part with anything. Edit 2 : I would really be interested in the Curtis Mathis amp. Wow that is cool!
Brad, also man I love the conversion amp you did with the red knobs and 2 x10s?... u said with a speaker replacement it would be a kick ass amp.... how much would you sell that?...I'm gonna be 43 years old and very much appreciate what you do and would love to have one of your amps!
Bradlinzy at gmail and we can talk about it.
