- I know the Panoz LMP-1 is one of the best sounding prototype's, but I've never filmed it myself and they are rarely seen in track.
And offcourse there are no Diesel powered cars in this list, eventhough they were the fastest LMP1's at the time.

yup is so rare but thank's !!!
Ive only seen one once at a vintage event a while ago. I wish the owner would bring it to the track more often
Was lucky enough to see and hear the Panoz twice in the states.
I actually quite like the sound of the 908 ! Really intresting
The R15 actually sounded really great. It was just too quiet....
Only if Aston Martin kept the Valkyrie LMH program going, we would hear that glorious V12 roar again
Nope, project cancelled
Thanks to the Strolls...
No you wouldnt. The Racecar would have a V6 Turbo.
@@milesr4609 Actually thanks to the ACO. The ACO kept cutting Performance. When LMH started it was basicly: free aerodynamics, 900kg cars, 2 Meters wide, fat tyres, 500kw IC engine and 300kw Hybrid. Basicly 2013 R18 with More Power.
Then the concept started Loosing Power and gaining weight and at some point Aston Martin Was like "No fuck this GT1 crap, either allow is to build proper racecars or count us out." And the ACO turned their french noses up and went sulking in the corner. I was in the discussions for a racecar manufacturer who will enter in LMDh with an OEM.
At the Start everybody was super happy. FiA liked it, privateers, liked it, OEMs liked it, Chassis and Engine builders liked it. Then the ACO started meddling and now we have P1 cars that are the size of limos and have P2 speed. The best year in Endurance racing was 2015. The cars were crazy fast, and going at it. And then the ACO started meddling.... I am starting to See a pattern here.
@@TheNecromancer6666 i don't know, ten brands to race in 2023 (more than in the last 20 years), lap times in Lemans similar to that on 2011 with a first gen LMH, Ferrari back after 25 years, plus Audi, Porsche, Peugeot (had you seen the 9X8 yet?), Cadillac, BMW, Acura, Alpine, Glickenhaus and Bykolles, besides rules mix allowing LMH go to Daytona, Sebring, etc. Yeap, i think now that the AMR lost is aceptable, f...them. And i don't believe on you being in the meetings, why should i believe you??.
the dbr sounded awesome but I was very surprised at how quiet it was in person, really unique car for sure.
Sounds very Zonda-esque
@@deggis4 the reason it sounds so different from the dbr9 is because it has both exhausts coming out of the back, while the dbr9 has 2 side exhausts
5:42 This clip is so good that it could pass as a scene from a movie.
Yeah going flat out at eau rouge is cool, but have you ever had to have throttle control at eau rouge 😎
the lighting is amazing
The 2009 LeMans grid overall has got to be one of the best sounding - The 7l V8 C6.R Corvettes, Porsches, Ferraris, the Peugeot and Audi diesels, with that wailing amazing LMP1 above it all.
Well you wouldn't have heard much out of the diesels, they were known to be rather quiet.
Great vid but I would say that the modern rebellion sounds a bit better than the Bentley v8
Panoz are underrated LMP Warriors - very impressive Car and a well sounding V8-Machine. Because all other Cars in this Video are very, Very good and Iconic Art of Engineering ! Nice Footage again, thank You BM !!!
You forget Panoz Spyder LMP900 (1999-2003) 😍😍😍
Norma uses the same engine as the Panoz, but the Panoz has the modern transmission that really brings the sound together.
Always liked the Ferrari 333SP, it didn’t have that V8 rumble just some ‘other worldly madness’ emanating from its 4L V-12! 🤘
Surely the Ferrari 333SP and the Panoz LMP1 deserve a place here. They sound phenomenal.
The 333sp was a different class, before LMP1 and sadly I've never filmed that Panoz.
Dude, I literally posted the same two cars! Jinx! Haha
Love the sound of the Ford V8 powered Norma, excellent upload, thanks! 😊🙏
5:50 I saw this car at monza in 2019. It's a monster!! It was fantastic hearing that engine screaming before the curva parabolica!!
That number 3, Dallara SP1 sounded exquisite! Good Lord.
We are starting in 5th position with a V8 Turbo, 4th with a V8 naturally aspired, 3rd with a V10 naturally aspired and finally 2nd and 1st with V12 naturally aspired... I'm all right❗ 👍💯🏎️🏁🤓🇨🇵
That Dallara SP1 is too great. DAMN. My fav sounding car ever
Start off as Chrysler lmp entry before it became this
The Bentley was all about the whistling noise as it came off the gas on the run up to Dunlop chicane, i can still hear it now. The Panoz was good, someone once described it as grenades going off inside a metal shed!
I remember seeing that Aston being built at Prodrive, feels like it was yesterday.
Boa noite !!!!!
Todos são fantásticos, mas esse Aston Martin V12 é absolutamente fantástico.
Esse ronco é música para os nossos ouvidos.
Lindo demais.......
Muito obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal.
Abraço do Brasil.......
I remember testing a mondeo at MIRA and sharing the high speed ring with the Aston LMP, the data logger shows exactly where we crapped ourselves as it came by
0:47 is the most violent shift I’ve ever heard
I've been lucky enough to hear and see the 2009 Lola Aston Martin in person and it is a monster of an engine. You could hear it revving in the pits from half way across the infield at Silverstone
Judd V10 sounds misfiring a bit at the end. Great sound at the beginning!
That's the traction control kicking in
I know this is personal preference and - as you said - depending on footage, but I miss cars like the Pescarolo C60, Lister LMP, Mazda 787, Peugeot 905 or the Panoz LMP-1. The Bentley is certainly one of the most beautiful LMP cars ever, but it sounds kinda boring to me. Nevertheless, nice selection.
the Mazda and Peugeot you named were not LMP cars, they were Group C. LMPs started in the late 90s.
I know there are some cars that deserve to be on the list. And like zoli already said. The 787b and 905 are group c cars. The class before LMP was intoduced.
@@Belgian-Motorsport Thanks for your reply. At least I got 3 out of 5 cars in the correct category. 😂
@@aebbelwoy but yeah, the 905 basically has a renault f1 engine, it sounds amazing
Mazda 787B winner 24 hours at le Mans in 1991 has the best sound to me
Thank you for the good video
I am Japanese
The Ferrari 333sp is at the top of my list.
Agreed its not an LMP900/LMP1 tho.
Not an LMP car.
Panoz GTR and Ferrari 333 should be here!
V10 ❤
omg the Judd GV4… I'm not a fan of the V10 layout, but DAMN the Judd GV series (GV4, GV5, GV5.5 and variants like AIM YS5.5) are really the best sounding V10 in the endurance world
Sounds beautiful
underrated video
All amazing👍👍👍, but for me the Judd V10 wins!
I LOVE PORSCHE917K. YOU?
The aston sounds like an old f1 car
agree with this list but that v10 for me is no.1, raspy exhaust and that 5x2 cylinder sound..and this coming from a big fan of v12 engines
Cadillac North Star lmp also like look and sound of the Riley and Scott mk3 just think if Porsche had went through with their lmp with the same engine that is in the carrera GT
Number 4 was by far the best sounding car in the video.
The R15 actually sounded really great. It was just too quiet....
Aston or Bentley for me 😍
Creo que el Dallara-Judd es el número 2. Saludos desde Córdoba, Argentina
So #5 should be shared with the Audi R8 as the Speed 8 uses the same motor, and Audi sat out their factory team that year so Bently could win Le Mans. the diesels always sounded cool on the in car cams, but I know that they were nearly silent on the outside. I hope the new hypercars get us some good sounding WEC cars again, the hybrid era cars may have been blindingly quick, but certainly weren't the best sounding cars out there.
Out of curiosity, would the Ferrari 333sp be considered an LMP900 or an IMSA GTP?
Wsc and lmp900 I believe
Imsa WSC but some cars were modified for LMP900.
What’s the difference between LMP1 and LMP900 if there is any difference
Long story short in early 2000s 3 prototype classes existed LMP900 (LMP1 Today) LMP675 (LMP2 Today) and LMGTP which was basically a middle ground between a GT car and a prototype but over time involved into full prototypes. In fact the Bentley in this video is an LMGTP car . Anyway LM675 failed to attract many entries and GTP was very similar to LMP900 so the ACO (the organisers of the LM24) though "What to do ...? I know! lets merge LMGTP and LMP900 into a new class !" And thus LMP1 was born. At first they were just upgraded LMP900 cars but they evoled as the years passed.
@@georgejakob1451 And now the new LM Hypercar class is something of a return of the LMGTP
First one is the best
The EXP Speed 8 is an LMGTP car. Also, why does it have the same wing as its sister car (#8)?
Probably is the 2001 car and not the 2003 one
1- 0:04
2- 5:49
What are these cars! I've never seen them
The first one is a Saker RapX with 385hp Impreza Turbo engine.
ruclips.net/video/TsJCpRAxYvM/видео.html
The 2nd car is a 2012 Lola B12/60 LMP1
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
4th one sound like a mustang roar and 2nd one is the most underrated car in BMW because it has small kidney grills.
Rebellion Lola B12/60 Toyota would like a word
Judd Engine ♥️ The others are also very nice
No modern LMP1 hybrids on this list I see...
U cant hate on the Audi R18 tho. That car sounds like a plane. So angry...just music to the ears
The old TS030 and TS040 naturally aspirated V8s sounded better than the Bentley in this video I’d say.
@Haibo Tütte. For Top 5 List, Hybrids don't Count
Noise is unused and wasted energy -Wolfgang something something, head of Audi racing development
@@prostreetbeetdhd4586 Except only on the in car. The diesels were nearly silent on the outside.
where is TS030/TS040/Rebellion Toyota
Mazda 787B has the best engine sound in my opinion.
Yes, but that's a "group c" car.
😉🏁👍
Ferrari 333 SP?
Where is the mazdaaa
In the Group C video
Panoz sounds better than these 5
worst was number 1 , all others was good
Oh God that Judd V10 engine....
In My own opinion. Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro, Porsche 919, and Toyota TS030 are The Best Sounding LMP1 Hybrids
They were also the only LMP1 hybrids
dodge charger has more HP than these units
The BMW sounds like a rice can and a half
Bentley sound 👎
Thumbs down. Bentley V8 that is basically the R8 LMP900 engine is boring. No Panoz!!!!
I believe that the Judd V8 engine sounds better than the BMW V12
