I know farming animals when my two were young, it was hard trying to help out within the house. We ran a few thousand sheep & cattle & just on 7000 acres of crops, mainly lucerne & oats, barley. All for our own animals. Lucerne was baled into hay. Yes we hired jackaroos & jillaroos to help out. We lamb yearly, plus I am a part time veterinarian and mainly only do local surgery for friends etc. I did fly to longreach and St-George to preg test cows for a long time friend who was having a few issues getting someone. Wait til the boys are around 8 and they will be begging you for a horse each, like mine. I think it’s because mine went to a country school in Yass and children around that age mostly lived on farms and were into motor bikes and horses… we have to (shoot) cull a few hundred kangaroos every year to keep stocks down, due to fences being destroyed & crops. They all get turn into blood & bone fertiliser. Some times the cannery will come to turn some into cat/dog food where most race horse end up. Along with other old nags, which a lot of city folk don’t know what’s in cat/dog food.
We are getting older. My husband had me to get rid of my chickens a year ago. It took a while for me to not miss them. A year later, I am glad that I don't have to get out in the cold and rain. God Bless 🍁🌾🍁🌾🍁 Rhonda from TN

LOL It's a mad house! Changes for kids are always a positive. It is good to mix things around. Children have short attention spans because their young minds are constantly working and figuring out the information they receive in a day. You guys need to put that window tint on the kids bedroom windows for right now. And put a window treatment curtain at the top. When my kids were small I went with the window tints because they destroyed the curtains. I purchased the tint where you can see out but you can't see in

Personally, I think you made a stellar decision in getting rid of the animals. I'm a twin, and my mom had 4 under 4 at age 23. We all survived, but with noanimals but a dog.
God blessed our family with fraternal twin boys 11 years ago. They have a brother who is 3 years older than them. Around the time they had their 1st birthday, one of the twins started climbing out of his crib and then he would climb up and get in the other crib with his brother. My son and his wife were at their wits abiut how to handle the situation b/c of course, they thought the boys would get a better nights sleep if they were separated. They tried everything they could think of to fix what they thought was a . problem. My daughter-in-law literally sewed Wyatt’s pj legs together thinking that if he couldn’t spread his leg apart he wouldn’t be able to climb out. Wrong! Even though they were still very young and in size wise still needed to be in cribs, the parents went ahead and turned their cribs into youth beds like what you did for your boys. That did no good, it just made it easier for Wyatt to get up and go get into Sam’s bed. My son and his wife decided to go ahead and buy a full size bed. The twins sleep together and have not slept in separate places except maybe a half dozen times or so in their entire lives!
An easy amd healthy way to break the habit of having to have s bottle before bedtime is giving your child a small serving of yogurt. Not having the liquid a bottle or sippy cup provides immediately before bedtime helps prevent soaked diapers or pullups, and it also helps with bedwetting. I have expetience, 4 children snd now 7 grandchildren. Even though things have changed through the years, some things never change!
I think you absolutely made the right decision about the animals for now. You have enough on your plate with the boys and Goose as well as all the projects that need to be done. In the future I think additional animals should be limited to ones that either provide food for your family or raising things for the specific purpose of selling to make money or bartering with them for other things you need. That is until the boys get a good bit older and more self sufficient. There's nothing wrong with having farm animals as pets IF you have the space, proper enclosures/pens, and the disposable income for all the feed, vet costs, etc.
Can you use one end of the crib frame as a headboard, so just buy twin mattresses and frames. Or just let them all sleep on twin mattresses on the floor until they start going to bed nicely.
It is amazing how different twins can be. We have a set of Identical girls that were micro premies and spent 75 + days in NiCU so they slept through bombs exploding.
I understand you gave the ducks and goats to your neighbor but did you give him Waffles too? I knew I heard Marci say when she was driving the goats to the yard about moving Waffles back up front. I pray Harvey does well sleeping alone in his own room.

I think the twins room original was the larger of the two. So Maverick would loose space doubling up in his original room. I think he also like looking out a window from his new bed location.😜
Why don’t you want your kids to have milk? I’m so confused. I stopped giving my boys a bottle when they were 15 months old. But they got a sippy cup with milk every night when they went to bed. They drank it and went right to sleep.
I think they make bunk beds that come apart so you can use them as two twin beds until the boys get older. I would be concerned that one of them will fall off the top bunk. They aren’t going to just leave the top mattress on the bed. Someone is going to get hurt. I agree Marci doesn’t make the boys listen. They seem to do better with Crandel.

our boys slept on the wall to wall rug, each had a child size, machine washable sleeping bag.The bed was for reading time/not sleeping in,, LOL

We Had 3 boys (now men lol) and I caution you on the bunkbeds with a ceiling fan as 6 stiches in the forehead later we learned the hard way.
