I have really enjoyed this series on reformed doctrine and how it affects most believers today.
Thank you Br Justin for teaching this and letting anyone interested to learn these great truths.

Great explanation. This topic is a stumbling block to the majority of "Christianity" today. Works based salvation is a part of most denominations even if they claim it isn't. They try to sneak it in with the "changed life" doctrine where the tail wags the dog. They redefine the word "repentance" and turn it into works.

Absolutely works do not get you into heaven…once saved all sins past/present/future are forgiven. Once saved a person should have a change of mind in the way they live.
It’s a pain that you will have when you make the wrong choice/wicked thoughts/sin. Repent/regret/change your mind. (The no go list)

In Hebrew Repent means turn from.
      Jonah 3:8-10
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them Turn EVERY ONE FROM HIS EVIL WAY, (Repent) and from the violence that is in their hands 9Who can tell if God will turn and repent, [change His mind](and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not.
      10
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; (They REPENTED of their evil works) and God repented( relented) of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; AND HE DID IT NOT.
They turned from their (sins) which pleased God so God didn't destroy them.
      Jesus reaffirms this in
      Matthew 12:41
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation
and shall condemn it: because they REPENTED at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
They repented of sin to avoid destruction.
      It's not works.
      1 Samuel 15:29
And also the Strength of Israel [God] will not lie
nor repent for He is not a man man, that He should repent.
      Read the last part again.
He is not a man that shall [in modern English] repent.
If Sodom and Gomorrah would have repented of their evil works [Sin] then God would not have destroyed them.
The same thing goes for all of us if we don't repent of our evil works [sins] God will destroy us in the lake of fire.

i was also in this false repentace system but it brought me nothing but mysery
once i understood that all my sins were paid on the cross i started to experience this freedom because on what Jesus did.
i will sease to think what my good actions are but only thank God on what Jesus did for me and the whole world.
A work ? no it's a renewal of my mind.and because i was in this : turn or burn or obey or go to hell mindset.
Even when i say i want to make sure that i won't forget what Jesus has done is also a work.
So i realize and think : Stop Franky .It's finished it's allready provided Jesus has done everything for me and the world but i need to understand
it is not me in this flesh who gets justified.it's my new position that trust that the sins i commited or will commit in the future are allready covered by him who has justified the ungodly.i have tasted the fruits of innocence because of him and was in peace.
At the same time i also understand as long as i live i have to deal with my old nature with my position in christ who saved me

@@bobbyadkins6983 How "sorrowful" must one be? Odd, considering the Bible says all one needs to be saved is faith. Believing that what Jesus did on the cross, He did for me. (John 3:16). Jesus never turns anyone away who comes to Him asking for salvation. (John 6:37).
If a certain measure of sorrow is required, most people would live in fear that they somehow were not "sorrowful" enough to be saved. Paul made it completely clear what is required for salvation. Read Acts 16:30-31. People like you, and Pastors such as the one above, always add conditions to salvation. Theirs (and yours) is a works based gospel. A gospel where one must "perform" to earn, or prove, salvation. Such as those who add baptism, turning from all sin, or stopping certain behaviors like smoking or even dancing. Like I've proven - you sin every single day, James. According to what you believe, you, by your own definition, are not a Christian.

Did not God know the end from the beginning, of course. So, it’s difficult for me to even accept the definition of repent as changing one’s mind. If God knew ahead of time that he would change his mind but at the same time he already knew the end from the beginning, did he not just change course? Was Peter not telling the Jews to change course? Doesn’t Paul do the same in using the term? God chose to go one direction for a time to prove a point about mankind and knew that at a certain point in time he would change direction or change course.
If we replace the the term repent with change course, doesn’t it become perfectly clear?

Jesus,John the Baptist Peter and Paul all made it clear that we must repent of our sins to inherit the kingdom of God. Repentance does not mean to change one's mind only about unbelief, but to make a change in heart and mind to turn away from your old sinful life to serve Christ.
Salvation is not complete without repentance of sin.

A change of mind about not continuing living in sin will result in a change of direction.
IF you sin cry out to God for forgiveness.
Not only must we confess sin (1John1:9),
but we must forsake it. Run away from it. One old definition of repentance is to leave the sin I've done before, and show I've earnestly grieved by doing it no more.
If a man is genuinely born again, all old things are passed away, all things have become new.( 2 Corinthians 5:17)
Too many today are preaching a perverted gospel to make it as palatable as possible. They give them a shot of love and grace without any warning of a looming judgment of hell for any who think because of grace they can continue living no different than before.
Those that believe that a change of conduct [Repenting of sin] is works are making our Lord's death on the cross meaningless.
He didn't die for sins to give a green light to live like a demon.
      Galatians 6:7-8
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
A rebirth in Jesus means a new heart, a new mind, a new spirit, a new person.
      Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
IF you love anyone or anything more than Jesus, it's an idol.
IF Jesus preached the way many do today, they wouldn't have crucified Him.

Especially those replacement theologians and amillenialist scholar have led many bible students and most of bible seminary in a wrong biblical understanding....
