@@Ramprust It's funny, I just checked this video again for a part that I forgot after a very long time because I stopped playing this song due to it being so sad and depressing. But the two year anniversary of my Mom's death is coming up later this month and I felt inclined to get back to playing it. It's such a beautiful and powerful song. Thanks so much for your comment. It has gotten a bit easier with time, but we were so close...just devastating.
I am learning this song for my son who died almost two years ago we had it played at his funeral. We did everything together, We went to guitar lessons together played football, went on walks you name it we seem to have done it together. He was a great lad wanted to do good. Miss him so much
It went went down as Sudden adult death syndrome, In other words they did not know. More importantly I try to honour him by being the best person I can. I do not dwell on the fact that he died but put more effort into life. Helping others and becoming a better guitar player. @@frankielong3288
I am learning this for my partner who tragically passed away to a head on collision with a truck on July 21 2020 had life support turned off the next day leaving me homeless and in great suffering as i was living with her parents at the time. This is dedicated to you joey and the child we lost forever in my heart. This is very hard for me to attempt this song but im doing it for you and charlie dog and our baby we lost love and miss you always my sweetheart. Every day is a struggle without you.💔
I'm about to play this song for a very good friend of mine who just passed away.. His funeral is monday and I'll be practicing as much as I can.. Thank you Carl..
+Yella Stylinson I do the same and it bring tears in my eyes every time. Put my best friend to sleep on November the 1st and still miss him dearly. I am sure just like you do.

I will practice this dedicated of the cat i pet in street almost a month, giving food everyday in street. That cat living in street. My mom dont like pet on our house. So i give that cat food everyday. That cat passed away 3 days ago. Hit by the motorcycle. That cat is only my friend. I dedicated my practice for that cat..
learning this song really helped me cope with the loss of my best friend who was 18 years old when he fell out of a 4 story building and died last month, I hope to honor him and his memory everytime i hear and play this song
You have a great teaching style!! The views you give and different angles allow for the most efficient way to learn the piece!! Thank you for uploading !! Keep up the great work!!
@@Charlie-qh6in I did learn it but I needed to refresh. I try to practice them regulary so I never forget, I was getting a bit upset when I was practising as it brought back memories of his funeral, but I have to be strong and carry on until we see each other in heaven Take care Stan
This was so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. Your instructions are so clear and concise and seemingly simple. I've recently reconnected with playing the guitar and started using RUclips as a guide to begin to acquaint myself with my former skills. Your site is one of the most comprehensive ones in terms of lessons. :)
struggling so hard. Picked up my guitar for the first time in 5 years. My kitten who didn't even reach 5 months old passed on, but this song is stuck with me. I MUST learn it. Thank you for this video.... And I'll need to reflect on my terminology. I'm just completely lost ATM.
Just want to acknowledge that this song lesson mysteriously appeared on my computer que over night....on MEMORIAL DAY...for all my LOVED ONES on the other side, I LOVE YOU FOREVER....I know there will be No Tears in Heaven... Thank You
Exactly what I was looking for! Your videos are always on point 👌🏻 Whenever I’m looking for some help on a song I am always pleased when you have got a video on it as I know it will be spot on every time! Keep up the good work!
You are a great instructor/videographer. Hands down the best instructional I've seen on here. Easy to follow, repeats just the right amount, and great disposition. Great job man! Oh yeah and you jam on the guitar too!
omg, all the music i want to check out and learn and look it up , i allways come at your page. What can you not play ? Thumbs up for doing such a great job! really love the vids , thanks , best regards from the netherlands!
I'd just like to say for those of you who may be having a hard time getting this song down because of the barres you can try playing it with your thumb covering the bass note the way Clapton played it.
Good advice, for the F#m's in the intro and verse I use my thumb because it makes the transition from E/G# easier, but I use the full barre for the chorus because you need to pluck the top three strings and it makes it easier and then it's not so hard to get to the C#/E# after it.
Ive somehow developed this technique with this song that i havent seen anywhere on youtube until now. I use my thumb for the low E string and my index to barre across the G and D at the start and then switch to thumb for the low E again and Index+middle for the G and D.
Excellent lesson my friend ... EXCELLENT!!!! ... This is dead on accurate. Even if you prefer the thumb over neck, it's perfect. It brings tears to my eyes that you would share such a wonderful lesson. It may be a little fast for the beginners so beginners should refer back and forth to some tablature when attempting. For most guitarists of any level there should be no problem following along, it's very fun. Peace and Happiness.
I wouldn't mind joining your pay site but you don't seem to cater much to acoustic. So heavily laden with rock. But I do appreciate the fine lessons like this on youtube. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hello Carl, thanks for your wonderful guitar lesson. I am working on this video and really enjoy it. However, I hope you can play the whole song at the end or the beginning of the video. Thanks again!
