Deb! You're a lifesaver🌻 I somehow lost my manual and desperately needed to reset my e.q. When I Googled reset my ve8 e.q. this vid popped up first. And you made it so easy. Thank goodness👍
I love to hear that people are finding my videos helpful. I know when I first started using a P.A. System it was such a mystery and everything was a learning experience. I had hoped to help other musicians along the way. I always learn something new with each video.
Thanks again Deb , I had no idea that I should be adjusting all of them .. I bought a new microphone and the guy told me to increase the gain in the boss ve-8 bc dynamic mics respond better to high gain so I’ve been trying to just adjust the high .. I love to play but I’ve never played plugged in before so it’s like learning a whole new language.. thanks again, your a big help !
You know I never adjusted any of these settings. just figured it out for the video. I always use the mixer for EQ and the effects from Boss ve-8. Try everything out and see what you prefer. just because someone said something only means that it worked for them. May not work for you.
Deb Erney yeah I’ve been just trying to figure it out but it’s really hard to hear yourself and to hear the differences.. thanks again for taking the time to make these awesome videos and tutorials.
Deb- Thanks for the vids! When running out of my XLR out I'm getting a loud hiss. I'm using this for radio appearances so it needs to be super quiet. The line out is much quieter, but I'm pretty sure that there's something in the settings to alter this as its practically unusable. Thanks Again! Tim
Thanks for all of your videos, especially on the Boss VE-8. I am a new user of the VE-8. There is one feature that I hope it has, but if it's there, I'm not smart enough to figure it out. I read someplace that the VE-8 has an octave up / octave down feature on the vocal section. Do you know if that is true? And if it does have that feature, would you mind giving me a hint on how to access it? By the way, I have sent this question to Boss twice, but they have not responded. Thanks so much, and keep your great videos coming!
@@DebErney Thank you for your quick reply to my question. Unfortunately, I am still not understanding it. I can definitely get the harmony settings to work. (High, Higher, Low, etc.) What I am hoping to do, though, is for the VE-8 to add a second voice that is a full octave above the notes that I am singing. Do you know if the VE-8 is capable of adding that octave above to my vocals? If not, I will need to spend more money on a separate pedal. Thank you again. I'm sorry to bother you again with this.
Well if you're using powered PA speakers you can mix your voice straight from this Bluetooth your music powered speakers for my purpose I believe I'm just using it for vocal practice with backing tracks do you agree with that I think I'm correct I'm not sure
Just got my VE-8 yesterday and found your videos already! I am curious to know... when you save these advanced EQ settings to a memory slot, do they stay that way through all the slots? I'm asking for this reason... I have 5 different guitars and I'd love to have a memory slot setup for each one, but none of them will have the same EQing. I need to be able to save one slot exclusively for each guitar. Is the VE-8 capable of this?
My confusion is that say I adjust high gain ( reverb knob) to 75 ... when I exit out now my reverb number is at 75 ... so if I turn it down to 50 if I go back into the EQ settings now the high gain is set at 50... Unless I’m completely wrong I figured the numbers for the gain would be seperate for the numbers on the reverb .. unless .. when I go back to check the level of gain in the EQ settings it’s just showing whatever level I had the reverb knob set for .. lol
Deb, thanks for all your wonderful tutorials. I used a recent one to set up an external foot switch, thank you. My main use is vocal harmony. I find when I trigger say the "high" harmony on and then off, the unit returns to "double" harmony setting. How do I adjust this to remove the "double" effect and have zero effect when I switch the "higher" setting from on back to off? Thank you, Deb.
I came to ask the same thing... is there a way to avoid the knobs resetting after changing the eq? I turned on the knob lock and then changed eq but as soon as I turned off knob lock, everything changed. @debrney @@jamieloftis6465

@@DebErney Mid Q (button 5) is a range of mid frequencies from very narrow (.5) to very wide (16). Once the range is chosen, those frequencies are pulled up and down by the mid gain (button 3). Mid Freq (button 4) is a single, narrow frequency range to be pulled high or low. Usually used to pull out a troubling frequency.
Thanks Deb, I usually watch this tutorial every year just to keep my ve8 top shape and my knowledge of this unit up to par.

Make sure you’re using a trs, stereo 1/4” cable. It will have two black markings across connector.

I believe you can save different setups with Memory. You might want to download the Manual from Boss to make sure.
@@DebErney I am pretty sure now that the EQ is a global setting, and has to be changed for each guitar. Bummer!
Does this have any of them for vocals?
The ve-8 is a vocal processor. Effects are for vocal.

Love your tutorials on the boss ve-8. In this video you didn’t address knobs 4, 5, & 6 in the EQq
Went and looked on the manual. I couldn’t get those adjustments to work the way the manual describes.
