Hi Deb. Great video thank you so much. Thousands of review videos on youtube but honestly, your video is what people like me needed. Very simple and straight to the point, easy to understand. Are you able to make a video of How to record on Zoom V6 processor without a computer if that's possible. Also the Rodecaster pro2, because none of all the review videos I've watched fully covered everything about how it works. Hope to hear from you. Thanks again🙏🙏
page 13 of your manual Here’s how to return the VE-8 to its factory-set state. 1 While holding down the (GUITAR) REVERB [TYPE] and CHORUS [TYPE] button, turn on the power. “Fr” appears in the display, and the [MEMORY ] button blinks. * If you decide to cancel the factory reset, turn off the power. 2 Press the [MEMORY] button. The display flashes and the factory reset is executed. * Never turn off the power while Factory Reset is in progress. 3 Once “oK” appears in the display, you can turn off the power.
Excellent. Very thorough. Soundcraft mixers are usually pretty good. What you think is channel bleed sounds to me as though it might be reverb that is being sent on both channels. I don't have a VE-8 and can't check how it outputs reverb, so I may be wrong.
This was a fantastic explanation. Well done. I do have a question. This unit as a type of auto-tune feature to help keep your voice a little more tuned, and I'm not sure the TC-Helicon has that feature. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear from someone.
Hi Deb, thanks so much for all your help with the VE-8. I am a novice guitar player running my Yamaha acoustic/electric through the VE -8 into my Fishman mini amp. I would love to add drums to my playing. Is it better to use a backing track with drums or purchase a Beat Buddy pedal? Which one would make it easier for me and if I did purchase a Beat Buddy would it placed before it enters the VE-8 it after and could all this still go through the Fishman amp? Sorry my post is so long, thanks for any suggestions you could give me. Regards
I think your going to get great results using your iPhone. I create my drumbeats in Garageband on iPad. In my opinion the Beatbuddy is very over hyped. Same sound as my Alesis SR-16. I use the iPad connected into the AUX input of my Fishman Artist.
@@DebErney Deb, thanks so much, I have learned do much from you videos and your comments. Boss should hire you to write their instruction manual especially zeroing in on questions/answers from consumers who have bought their product but want more answers to practical questions. So as you said to me hook up my phone to the ve-8 and my microphone, backing track and phone can all play through my Fishman amp? Thanks, john
At the 2 minute mark, can you explain why you went to settings and changed xlr to 4 and line also to 4? I'm very new to learning about Pa systems and I'm making of wish list of things I want to get, and I'm very interested in getting one of these.
You can set the output for vocal and guitar to go out to. This setup allows me to record 1 track for guitar and 2nd track for vocal giving me 2 separate tracks going out to xlr and 1/4” TRS.
This was great but you really need to show what is plugged in and to what, even a visual would be great to fully understand. Than you for taking the time to do this, remember a lot are new and have no idea what is plugged into what..just some advice.
I also love the Boss VE-8, but I have a problem. There’s a low hum that I hear, but when I put my toes on the unit, it (almost) goes away. Is there anything that can be done? (I’m using a Taylor acoustic-electric guitar and a microphone)
The boss ve-8 works best with guitar ‘plugged directly. The ve-8 uses an on board mic, guitar, and/or key settings for key. You really need to sing on key using the harmonies. As far as I know the back trackers have nothing to do with key.
Wouldn't resetting to factory defaults delete all presets and adjustments?...Seems counter productive to spend a ton of time to dial this in and then have to redo it. Am I wrong?
The two outputs of the VE8 go into the inputs of the mixer. I used the xlr (set to vocal) and 1/4” set to guitar outputs as input to the mixer tracks 1 and 2. Your VE-8 has instructions on how to setup the channels for any output combo you want.
Really appreciate dear maam❤I hv seen ur all vdos...small but knowledgeable. Lol India
Thank you Deb. I think the folks at Boss owe you a debt of gratitude. Your tutorials are focussed and easy to follow. Again, thank you.
Thank so much kind sir.
Awesome as always❤
Thank u for showing this pedal

Sorry, but I don’t own either piece of equipment your looking at.
Excellent Deb! Thanks for this
Thank you so much!
I was looking for how to reset settings 🥰

PS: Liked and subscribed :o)
I think that is exactly what happens. The reverb tends to bleed out over the other channels.
❤

It doesn’t have an auto tuner and for the harmonies to work properly you have to be dead on with vocals.

@@DebErney Deb, put phone through amp or boss ve-8?
You can go through either one. Try them both to see what suits you.

I thought it was pretty obvious, BUT the outputs of the VE-8 L/R are going into tracks 1 & 2 of the mixer.
what are the two black cables at the far right corner of the mixer? where do they go?
MAIN OUTPUT into the Zoom Q8 for recording the sound.
Are the drums coming from the Boss or the phone? This is confusing to tell what is actually going on. Thanks for clarifying in advance 🌻
The drums are coming from the Aux input with iPhone.

So by doing that does the device pickup the key of the song for auto tune aswell from the track. Great video BTW 👍

Very true, but if it’s not working it might be worth it? Your preference.
You dont explain what setting does or why you do it? Confusing. Plus use a musical instrument not a phone
Pretty cool
Where is the sound coming from? And where is it connected? Hope for your reply.. tnx in advance❤
