Shakatak have enjoyed a level of success and career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music. Compared as the Rolling Stones of Jazz-funk their music just keeps getting better and better. After a number of successful top twenty singles in the U.K. the band have gone onto secure unprecedented International success which has continued through their career to date with a recent successful tour of Japan. This is from their 1985 appearance on German TV.

Ohne Filter and Rockpalast were the best of the best of live music on TV I saw back then and I never saw anything like that return after it was gone. I thank all the fantastic people from the German tv and the crews they hired to make this possible. They really left some precious musical history behind.

This live performance is very close to the sound of the legendary night birds album.- I love it. Jill Saward , I love your voice, but never understood your hair style in the raging 80´s, haha. Anyway, we did not have RUclips at that time and were listening to the records only. If I had realized that she is so pretty, I would have tried to go to a live performance under any circumstance. I have missed it. Shame on me.
Looks have nothing to do with the ability of anyone to perform great music live.

@@wattage2007 He’s focusing on a woman’s looks, but mentioned nothing about the men’s looks. ‘If I had realised that she is so pretty’ is not acceptable in this day and age. Jill is a fine singer, musician, performer etc who doesn’t need to be judged by her looks.

This is my favourite song of my lifetime. I memorised every single note when I was 12 to play it on the electone organ. I am curious as to why this version is so much faster in tempo? it's 125bpm as compared to the album version which is around 118bpm. I feel that some of the funk has been lost at this faster speed. Anyway still get goosebumps when i see Shakatak play
