I went in knowing that I wouldn't learn anything, but I actually shockingly did. Love that all of these aren't things that are directly in front of you if you explore settings. I still can't believe I never knew about the Windows Sonic headphones one. Also, didn't know about the shake to minimize feature. Not really sure when I'll use it outside of showing off as a toy but still cool.

Wow...I just got a new computer and monitor and I am overwhelmed with the capabilities. I know that there has been even more updates since this video. I do want to say that 10 is very straight forward in its approach. I'm just not sure how to apply all this stuff. My old computer crashed last week, got a brand new one now. The old one was a thrown together thing with Windows XP. I'm excited to learn new things and explore the world from home. I'm semi-house bound and in poor health and have come to rely on my computer to keep my mind activated. Thank you for an informative presentation and keep all us of limited computer savviness up to date. OK BABBLE OVER ! As you were...lol

A huge tip for Windows 7 (or retro) fans, you can bring back the old "start menu" which I prefer over the built in Windows 10 tiles, and you can keep your tile menu as well. Go to "sourceforge.net/projects/open-shell.mirror/", download "open shell" which is an open source start menu, download and install. Mine has been flawless since I found it way back when Windows 8 came out. There are some really nice configurations inside the menu settings.

@@Pattys1967 Hello. It is simple. Simply copy the code GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} without any extra space after. On desktop you right click and select new folder. Under new folder icon there is a highlighted name NewFolder. Use CTRL+V. This code will replace that name. Done. May be you are copying the code with the space at the end of it. Start copying from G..... until ...C} no extra space after.

This video was in my RUclips recommended page...
Only one suggestion, and a caution:
    1). Suggestion
    5-UNIX's
    17-Linux's
All are made to be installed on Wintel hardware. Install something other than Windows, never look back.
    ---
    A caution
UEFI was invented after the original EFI, by Microsoft. UEFI can force a Wintel hardware piece to no operate on any system but Microsoft Windows. That's its purpose.
Apple uses straight EFI, which doesn't have this control installed.
Which kind of company would you rather trust? A company that can flip a software switch and shutdown your dreams? Or a company who won't because they chose not to use software that works by control of users?

Nice tips but one problem -- they are outdated with newer windows 10 updates. Now apps have their own listing in Settings. One thing I would add is to show how to type on the start screen to find that special app and/or command you are looking for or do a web search. In settings, you can type in a search for the item/menu.

Thanks for those tips... it helps a lot on my computer use. Now the only think that is driving me crazy is that windows 10 has the sleep mode wake up problem. I tried many things but it I still not fix. The problem I am facing that when the computer goes to sleep mode when I try to wake it up takes forever more than 10 minutes and that is very frustrating. It sound many have similar issues but Microsoft people don’t care. Do you have any tip that can help beside discussed in this video? 🤔

    • @SeleTraining
      @SeleTraining  4 года назад

I'd suggest removing the video driver and reinstall it. You can do that from the Control Panel-Device Manager-Display Adapters. You may even need to download the latest driver from the website for the video card. Also check your Windows Updates and make sure you have everything up to date. There were some bugs related to sleep mode solved in previous windows update.

Thanks for all these tips, one of them was particularly useful, the Night Light settings, it was night light (as well as the upcoming end of Windows 7 support) that convinced me to get Windows 10, which I've had up and running for a few days now. I'm trying to change habits for better sleep and only heard about Night light a week or so ago. Looking forward to trying the other tips as well.
