Gymnastics is extremely difficult, but these two elements over bar??? Unreal!!! I am totally mind-blown and sent to a parallel universe by seeing this skills and can't even imagine how this is possible.
Finally, we have Men!!!. I think there are only three people in the world that had performed Bretschneider (Himself, Uchimura, and Miyachi). It is extremely difficult. Miyachi (the first I-rated element) is absolutely jaw-dropping. Only two gymnasts could perform this element so far (the other one is a gymnast from Netherland). I feel Miyachi is the ceiling of high bar, and I sincerely doubt people would have harder skills than this -- there just isn't much room for additional twists or roll unless you release and throw yourself in the air five feet above the bar.
Bretschneider wanted to perform the Miyachi at the 2016 Olympics but was not able to perform it successfully. He did perform it successfully in training though just not in competition
Although I mainly watch women's gymnastics, I occasionally watch men's gymnastics and I have a huge respect for the skills they do. The nagornyy(sorry if it's spelled wrong) was already insane for me but the miyachi takes the cake. I wish men's gymnastics was highlighted more in media since they really work hard and the skills they do are no joke
i never understood why the men's bar is much thinner and easier to grasp meanwhile they have bigger hands genetically? (comparative to the WAG bars) can you explain this Mr. gymnastics professor sir
Uneven bars used to basically be the parallel bars but set to different heights so that’s just how the uneven bars evolved, and you can see they’re still the same material as the pbars
@@josephqualtier961 That further confuses me... the men changed the material and didn't stick to the same one that's used on one of their own apparatus's? but the women with smaller hands/weaker grip-strength adapted it? idk i dont get it lol
@@bellab1142 even though uneven bars is compared to high bar since they are so similar, it’s true parallel is parallel bars. Uneven bars and parallel bars are made of the same material, just different gaps between the bars. @@bellab1142 if you search up old uneven bars routines, and I mean very old like 1960’s-70’s, and compare them to old parallel bars routines you will find they are very similar
only die hard gymnastics fans know how insane this is. it sent shivers down my spine. i know it doesn't carry the DV like the stretch double kovacs does but it's so refreshing to actually see the artistic part of artistic gymnastics
i mainly just watch WAG but I was watching the mens US championships the other night and I noticed their scores are so much higher. Is it just because they are doing more difficult skills?
The low bar is too close to the high bar for them to whip around fast enough to generate the height needed to do it. The only way I could see it happening would be if the gymnast was incredibly petite and thin, like under 5'0 tall and less than 100 lbs. Someone whose legs already wouldn't hit the low bar on the downswing and who is light enough to generate enough speed. Even Simone Biles, who is physically quite strong, I don't think could do it. Male gymnasts are built differently. That's not saying they're better, just different, and MAG reflects these differences.
To add to what the person above me said: from what I’ve noticed (not being a gymnast myself but knowing a lot about the sport as a spectator), both high bar and uneven bar workers need a lot of momentum. Usually the best bar workers in WAG are tall and slender (look at Svetlana khorkina 5’5, Nina Derwael 5’7, Aliyah Mustafina and Nastia Liukin are a bit shorter at 5’3 but on the tall side for gymnasts etc etc). That body type helps them succeed on the bars because they can use their long legs to get a ton of momentum and their bodies are more aerodynamic. Just think about how Simone biles, the greatest gymnast of our time, has never claimed to love bars. Shes just not built for bars because she’s short and muscular, which means she can’t get super fast or fly super high. However, the low bar is a big hindrance in them ever doing anything similar to these. If you watch the men, they stretch their body out as long as they can and swing super hard to generate momentum, while most if not all women mentioned above have to bend their legs to avoid hitting the low bar. The lack of the full body extension and ability to swing fully would never allow them to get nearly as fast as these men get, which means they can’t get as high. (Take a shot every time I say momentum lmao)
In my experience having swung on both types of the bars, the steel bar MAG uses is lot of more ‘giving’ than the wooden bars WAG uses. Having the bar be able to bend more gives momentum to generate height and amplitude to throw yourself over the bar.
Soooooo how is the Miyachi any less difficult than the Biles on beam???? Explain this to me. You're way above the ground and if your head hits that bar going that fast... Why isn't that skill downgraded to prevent injuries cuz it looks just as scary as a double double off beam
If you’re mainly a WAG fan, just picture them doing a Silivas and a Moors over the bar 🤯🤯
And the difficulty values are exactly the same 😂
That's what I was thinking, actually!😆Insanity!🤯
Omggg hadn’t even thought about it 😂

Someone has done a double kovacs on instagram. I wonder if twists are possible with it?
@@isengardyoung1399 share the video? Wow that would be amazing
I just think of how tiny the margin of error is on these… mind blowing!
I saw a 16 year old doing a bretschneider on instagram
Thank you for the men's content. It's always been odd to me how a huge chunk of gymnastics enthusiasts act as if MAG does not exist.

Sure they are and the best gymnastics nation is Japan !
Just imagine how many times these guys have fallen in practice before perfecting it. OUCH!
Awesome video, thank you 🤗❤️

I only watch WAG, so I cannot even comprehend how they don’t get a wicked case of the twisties going that fast??
Love it! Please do one on rings both swinging and still.
I think also Cassina was training the Cassina with extra Twist ,in 2010, The Myachi
Wow I didn’t even know there was an “I” skill! Thanks for the men’s video!
Oh hell yes to the all MAG in High Bar.
Is this your first video on mens gymnastics? I’d love to see more.
Amazing

I have a question, how come women do not attempt any elements like this on uneven bar?
Maybe the low bar prevents the gymnast getting enough power up on the swing?

I definitely prefer MAG over WAG
And yet a good set of German giants is still the coolest looking HB skill
Waiting for the day someone does a triple twisting Kovacs, which will probably have a J rating like the Biles on floor
Yeah but MAG and WAG use different scale. A J-skill in WAG is a G-skill in MAG, so no comparison.
