- This is by no means trying to outdo the work of the voice actor from the remake, but serves to show what could’ve been had they created Wesker's voice actor depict the lines closer to his original counterpart from Resident Evil 5. I stayed true to the original script from the remake, but may have also inserted my own production and writing for a couple scenes. Here is Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil 5 Remake with his original voice actor. I remade Albert Wesker from the Resident 4 Remake into his original voice actor, and this is by no means saying one is better than the other since that is for you to decide ❤️

I'm guessing wesker va was different in the og re4 before the more known one in re5?.
I would have loved to hear "Richard Waugh" voice here, instead of D.C. Douglas... I get the latter is more popular, but Richard had the most accurate performance!
For me Ada sounds better in the original, but Wesker sounds like a calm and more mysterious instead of screaming into our ears

@@Acesahn Even still, the one used in the AI in this clip is DC Douglas, the fourth Wesker actor that voiced him in RE5 onwards and has been in hot water lately. OG RE4’s voice actor was Richard Waugh, who is IMO, still the best.

I like the voice of Ada in the upper video. But for the voice of Wesker, I like the voice below.
@Boris Cuduco the original ada voice had more emotion in it imo. The remake ada sounds detached and uninterested. Wesker is talking about killing billions of people and remake ada can care less. And she comes off as bored and uninterested in all of the remake material.
The original ada could be flirty, serious, and always felt like she was playing games with you which was the point. She's supposed to be a femm fetal who's keeping you guessing on if she's on your side or not. Remake ada absolutely doesn't do that and feels like she's just reading the script and nothing more. Remake ada is all voice but zero actual acting.

Pierce is arguably the better actor. Pierce also has a much higher pedigree/résumé as an actor he’s had way better roles in his career than the Rock.
The new Ada Wong, voice actress Lily Gao, she is an actress, not a professional voice actor/ actress. All of the previous actresses who voiced the character were voice actresses and some of the best in the industry. They have a history of doing a good job otherwise they wouldn’t be in that profession.

I’ve played the original back when and since it’s release. It’s campy. It’s fun. I’ve played this version. It’s more serious but still fun. I definitely prefer the more serious tone - but don’t dislike the original. But I definitely prefer the newer rendition. Sounds more authentic and cold compared to the b-movie campiness and faux-sultriness in the original.

Sounds like the voice actor listened closer to the original voice of Wesker. Less UK English and more of US English, which feels wrong given how the other voices of Wesker got the British sound to it, of trying to replicate the previous voice.

From a persons view who has never played any Resident Evil games in his life, both voices from the remake fit their appearances better.

Leon is basically James Bond in the story. He has a mysterious, love interest who always disappears, and may or may not be a villain. The entire franchise is a 90s cliché, with the evil villain being umbrella Corp.

For me, i like the old ada voice, but I think it's got that over reactive anime kind of acting behind it, same with Wesker's voice, and the new voice actors make it sound more natural. Sure it doesn't sound as "sexy" as her OG voice, but the act serves the character fine.

It really sounds like phoned in dialogue, whether I choose to blame the voice actors or not. The blame ultimately should go to Capcom and the voice acting Director.
If we bring up something like Batman, the animated series with Andrea Romano, who was the voice, acting director she did a phenomenal job, and a lot of the cast was just regular actors. So Capcom dropped the ball on this one and they did a horrible job with the casting.
As far as picking someone who sounds Asian, they should’ve gone with her live action counterpart. Li BingBing actually speaks English and is a much better actress but I don’t know if they can afford her considering she’s at least B Tier. She has starred in more high-level, box office films then Lily Gao for sure.
They made Wesker so badass in RE games I dont care of the voice remake. Wesker in RE games is a true villian. Unlike the movies where he just lost to a metal door.

I actually do like Ada's voice in the remake- it fits her mannerism really well. Like I talk to a mysterious, older Asian American woman, her voice is exactly what I expect

What is even realistic.both games are unrealistic and no logical. Ada was giving advice to leon telling him to leave ashley when it’s none of her business during her mission. It wasn’t even realistic for a spy. Her voice tone was annoying in remake 4 when she tried to flirt with leon like “not a bad move, very smooth” “ oh leon i don’t work and tell” which sounded unnatural and cringeworthy. And dumbass wesker spilling his stupid plan to someone he doesn’t even trust completely and it made me laugh in this vid.

Old wesker voice actor was supposed to do the VA but he leaked some deeds about the remakeva few months ago and he was fired.

The more I stumble upon these comparisons I more and more feel like it's not about actual VA work it's about the fact that characters personalities were darkened for the remake.

Ada's voice was pretty good. She sounds serious and only ever breaks from her composure when she meets up with Leon or Luis. The old ada was a bit too flirtatious in her lines, and felt off with some of what was going on. I feel like the rabid fans who attacked the new VA online just like to hear women talk dirty to them.
Its the only time they have ever had a woman talk to them

The new Ada voice fits her so much better
Only in some moments. Most of the time its so annoying to listen to. And when you compare them both old Ada sounds way better

I completely disagree with that. Lily Gao has a horrible voice. As far as how an Asian woman would actually sound she is bottom tier. I would give it to her live action counterpart instead Li BingBing can actually speak English, is actually Chinese and has a way better speaking voice. Not to mention she’s just a much better actress.
The one with original voice of Wesker was still the best one. Because it fits him so perfectly
I prefer classic Ada. She had the hint of cenom & seduction. As well as the OG outfit. This outfit does not suit her imo. She was a bit unpredictable in the classic & would help Leon bare minimum (which i personally loved), but now it's like she's easy to read & caves in easier. She sounds a bit dead in the remake but that's my opinion
