Hugh was a bastard son of Saera who is daugther to Jaehaerys (the previous rider of Vermithor) Ulf said hes a bastard of Baelon, the age "checks out" but Baelon was very close to his sister/wife from a young age so that might not be the case. Ulf gets chosen by Silverwing who was Alyssane's dragon (wife to king Jaehaerys) so the dragons are being kept within the lineage, pretty neat detail they added to the tv show. Fun fact: Ulf was so covered in Vermithor's smells that Silverwing accepted him very fast. He was touched by his nose when he got bumped off the platform, then he walked among dragon excrement and then he stepped on the cluch of eggs from Silverwing or Syrax (and we assume Syrax is offspring of Silverwing).. So he had to do nothing to claim as he had the blood, and all the "family smells" 🤣 Also have you noticed that Silverwing has ZERO marks on her scales and membranes? A REAL well kept and pretty dragon.. her only rider was a Queen so checks out..🤩These two will add a lot to the plot and the overall arc of this Targaryen Civil War.. season 3 will be NUTS if they dispense the budget for it!
