Scott I don't know if anyone else has told you this but I really want to thank you for taking time out your day and the expense of teaching us people to play you have taught me more than any other teacher and or You Tube video has ever done so I want to say thank you this means so much to me I am disabled and I have Parkinsons so I don't get to get out to do alot or really do much at all that's why this mean the world to me It takes a special person to do what you are doing and I thank the God for you thanks again

How far we've come.. Sitting here using the built-in metronome on a digital amp modeller.

I was able to find a drum loop app using your advice here. I had a metronome, but it is very boring like you said lol.
The drum app offers up different patterns for various time signatures and genres as a base package that should get me pretty far as is.

Lots of options for drum machines nowadays, apps, software/plugins for your daw, built-in into multi-effects-amps and so on, it's a glorious time to learn guitar! =)

I guess I'm "boring" because I like my metronome :)
