@WorldHistory I grew up a 30 minute skiff ride from here... Metlakatla Ak. Im born in Ketchikan Ak. ..i used to to go over and hang out w my classmates family . Im From the Tlinget/Haida tribes of Prince of Whales Island. I would go to my home village klawock and sometimes Hydaburg for the summers and fish and hunt w my uncles . please do one on the TLINGETS.. we ranged the whole s.e.panhandle of Alaska and as far north as the Aleutians and south to the N.w. coastel tribes for trade amd slaves.. we dominated the pandndle through battles W the Haidas thats how hydaburg was made which is a Haida village on the s.w coast of Prince of Whales Island. Haidas were also fierce seafaring warriors. DUG OUT CEDAR CANOES. FROM The Queesn Charlotte islands/Haida Gwaii. Lots of History still. Haidas where strong and fierce and so where the Tlingets, a bit smaller in size but ferocious in hand to hand combat.

I have known since I was little that I am Tsimshian by blood, however I didn't know much information was out there for me to find. I want to know more about being Tsimshian, and talk to relatives, but I don't even know where to begin. My grandfather is a status Tsimshian, but he was adopted, and doesn't know much about it. I hope one day I can meet my family!

Keep researching the culture, via internet. You can also make calls to a band office to see of they have info on getting lost tsmshian back in touch with your roots. I'm tsmshian as well.

Great video. Just FYI at about 20 seconds in, there is a beautiful picture of a chief and his family. This is a Nisga'a family, not Tsimshian. I know you spoke about Nisga'a, but it seems like the history of Tsimshian, so the picture may have been mistaken for Tsimshian.
