Another reason why the A380 has reverse thrust on only 2 engines because the reversing is very powerful and having it on all 4 is absolutely overkill and it would increase weight.
It also hangs on the outside of runways sometimes which means it blows dirt everywhere.
Hiw would it increase weight?

I love how he hates the A380 but when it performs amazingly (which yes it’s pretty realistic, the engines are insanely powerful) he is flabbergasted and he can’t fit it into his narrative of hating it. That’s why I love the A380, it’s so powerful and personally I think it looks really nice

As the A380 was designed, Airbus discovered that having 4 reverse thrusters would be completely overboard and cause more issues that it solved. In fact, when it was first designed, Airbus engineers considered not adding reverse thrust at all to the A380 as the plane was designed to be capable of landing and stopping using only brakes and spoilers. In any given A380 landing, the brakes and spoilers typically contribute more the overall braking performance of the aircraft than the reverse thrusters. The only reason they were added at all was to minimize risks of aquaplaning and increase wet weather stopping performance. In addition, if the outer engines were equipped with reverse thrust, the wide wingspan mentioned before would pose a risk to them being damaged by debris as many A380 airports have the outer engines hang over the threshold. Adding on the fact that each engine equipped with reverse thrust weighed over half a ton more than their non-reverse thrust capable counterparts as well as the A380's already high operating costs, it was decided that only two reverse thrusters were required. Thus, the final design was only equipped with reverse thrust on Engines 2 & 3.

@@pastlifeofficial yeah I use their a320, but I thought that was free because they used parts from the default a320. But for this one they had to craft everything from scratch
And that's why the a380 is one of my favourites...

I just came back from France yesterday took an EMB145 to Philadelphia, a 787-8 to Paris than on the way back 787 to Philadelphia, and an EMB145 back. Since I was almost awake for 24 hours I fell asleep on the EMB145 and woke up when we smashed our gear into the runway (very much an exaggeration) While waiting at the airport because of all the traffic, I saw an A320 do the worst landing I have EVER seen. It bounced 3 times, and then the front gear slammed into the runway, bounced back up and I though it was gonna do a go around but it didn't.
Him: I still hate this plane: emotional damage
And to think that it took THIS long for an actual realistic flying experience with the a380, gotta say finally

The reason I like the A380 is because the landing gears, the engines (if 4 engines reversed, then you could land anywhere), and also the flight range. That’s what I like about the A380

737: lands on aircraft carrier, saba, and tiny tiny tiny strip in the middle of nowhere, and has a range of 5000kts(700ng version)

No, having 4 would be overkill. Don't believe this "it can't take rocks" bs. Swiss is just Salty for some reason.
It's unnecessary to use 4 reversers since it would complicate maintenance more and put stress on the wing. It would also just be plain excessive. If anything the pilots don't even use the full braking force of the A380 to prevent unnecessary wear on the landing gear.

The only Airbus planes I actually like are the A320 and A220 because they are pretty nice planes and are probably the most practical planes in the world.

I'm not sure if it's the same for the 380 but for the 747 the thrust reversers do not help you slow down. They are just there to save your brakes. You can stop just as well without thrust reversers. Source: 74Gear

Probably in Aerofly there is no brake overheating simulation but you can check the brake temperature on the Ecam
flybywire are actually working on an a380 for the msfs rn.
also pretty minor detail you did turn on the adirs in the wrong order. u usually turn the third one on last (which is the one in the middle) the buttons are actually for 1,3,2 and not 1,2,3

I personally love the A380 more than to B747 in terms of how aesthetic it looks, i'll admit the 747 is the queen of the sky, but nevertheless the A380 is a beast, its the safest Airbus airplane for that matter, and I've been on the A380 on Emirates.

The A380 was designed to not need reversers in the first place. Customers whined and wanted them so Airbus gave them a compromise.
Don’t think anyone would last without reversers for that size of aircraft 😂

I will agree, this heavy behemoth is pretty ugly and that it never likes to touchdown; but when it does land correct, it’s very nice.
