Freestyle KRS would get at L, Battle rhyme LL would take it from KRS . All in All tie. Been listening to them both since the beginning, LL never really got his just due as an MC. Maybe because he was breaking barriers for hip hop to sell records like they do today, without him it wouldn’t be million dollar rappers today. Now if he focused totally on battle rapping and strictly B Boy Mcing like KRS, He would be the LL Cool J of today. L had a bigger perspective in mind. If any of those battle rappers made credible songs in the main stream of hip-hop, I am not saying commercialize hip-hop but hip-hop credible songs even underground hip-hop, then maybe they would earn the right to go up against these hip-hop legends that you mentioned. Just being able to out rhyme someone should not validate you as a superior MC. That is not the totality of the art form. I don’t think that any URL emcees have reached the levels of the artists you mentioned. Yes the URL/artists are great rappers. But I say let’s see if URL can do what the legends have done.
