This is such an amazing series. Inviting the industry’s most prolific and legendary editors and letting them break down all the iconic shows that really changed fashion in detailed and well articulated commentaries, it doesn’t get better than that. Also it amazes me how Tim has a great memory of the past and knows every model, every reference, and basically just everything about these shows.

huge Tim fan since the Toronto life fashion file days in the 90s. Tim needs his own fashion museum/archive so we can enjoy for years to come

Big up to Tim Blanks for talking about being lit while at shows. And for still being obsessed with his favorite supermodel Lina Evangelista. The way he says her name kills me!! Thank God there are others out there that love fashion as much as i do!!!!

High fashion is long dead. Creativity was the order of the day with couture. Now fashion is mass market , created only for a quick buck. Elegance, quality and unbelievable beauty are but a distant memory in the fashion industry.

I loved Tim Blanks show Fashion File back in the 90s. It was appointment tv every Saturday afternoon on CBC.

Me too. I worked with him over 30 years ago. He is exactly who you see. An intelligent, informed member of the fashion press. It has been a joy to see him make a place for himself in the fashion and contribute to a greater understanding of the industry. I loved those 90's shows as well.

I need showstudio to make a youtube series interviewing galliano/dior 90s era models who got paid by taking home the clothes and still keeping them to this day!

Bill Gaytten and Raf did put out some great pieces and Maria Grazia's couture can be beautiful sometimes but overall there's no excitement anymore or very little compared to what it was.

Sr. Tim, es increíble la elección realizada, ellos representan el poder de la creatividad y del trabajo duro, donde se percata el estudio previo que se realiza para cada colección y en el que cada detalle tiene un sentido y un ser.

Absolute. Natively, JPG S/S '94 was the spearhead of the 20th centurion's contempo~ -tribe~melli-craftwear. And intriguely, Dries van Noten's S/S was also on the other incredible maidens' era ..with loads of models streaming gradually from the fortress, while the supreme Galiano's §CDior's§ was the ultimate Nefettitii's haute-couture.[ my flashback, notably; 30 yrs ago!] Me`moir❤

This has been a great series. It would be nice to see someone like Tim lead a panel or two now and again. I hope they have Andre Leon Talley on as well. Experience gives you awareness. Experience gives one a reference point for what is sublime, and what is inferior. Tim, Suzy, Leon, and even Cathy Horyn represent a generation of fashion critics and style makers who had opinions, and appreciated real creativity. Now we have Liza Koshy on the red carpet at the Met Gala. I just can't get engaged with the fashion world right now. I do have fond memories though.

Back in September, when I skipped a pattern cutting class to wait outside fashion shows, the people I was the most excited to see were not celebs but Tim, Suzie, Grace Coddington, Jo Ellison, Vanessa Friedman, Robin Givhan, Elizabeth von Guttman, Christiane Arp, Lucinda Chambers, Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Emmanuelle Alt ... People with experience who have an understanding and a knowledge of the industry as a culture and a business. More and more I realize that clothes are words, so first, I just want to listen.

i've been reading Mr.Blanks' writings since STYLE.COM and honestly, no one can intelectualize and elaborate fashion in an artistic POV but also aware of its commercialization & capitalistic nature. I adore him!
