- How to make a silver Celtic knot wrist chain bracelet by using circlip pliers.
Making a tight Celtic knot is easy by using this tool.
I’ve called this a Celtic Knot for great SCO results. It’s more commonly known as a Reef knot, Square knot, Hercules knot, Double knot or a brother hood knot.

Great tip about the tubing on the one side. Thanks. It turned out beautifully.
Thanks Kris, the tubing trick does work well. I now have a large collection of various sizes … N

Just stumbled on your channel today - tells me it's going to be a good day! Your videography is fantastic, and your work is beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for your lovely comment Libby, surprising how close you can get when filming with an iPhone … cheers … Nick
I agree that style is so pretty, it would also be a great looking watch band !!
thanks for Hector, so many possible variations on a theme with this sort of thing … N
Nice, really nice. Time is no object to the Smith with an emotionalized idea in mind.
Ive learnt that from you Nick, in a very short period of time watching your videos, week, 10 days perhaps. Probably less in fact. I loose track of time while watching. That is the very point I'm trying to make.
Cheers Nick, one day I will buy you a drink and a bite to eat.
thanks for that Allan, you must be nearly through them all by now i’ll have to get on and finish some more … N
Thx... 😘
Thanks again for this great video Nick , your treatise on tools is just as valuable as the lesson is
Nice one Hector, good to be able to give a few tool tips back after learning so much from RUclips myself … N
I ❤ that chain

Brilliant Nick. Thank you. ❤
I love the way you cut and solder your jump rings and turned your fine tweezers into cross locks. 👍Very cool tips
thanks for your comment Annette, after learning so much from RUclips myself, it’s very satisfying to be able to share a few tips of my own that might be useful … N
Good
Thanks Aa … N

cheers John, a totally enthralling hobby to get into. I started with a few basic tools and slowly added to my collection with odd treats from
Cooksongold.com also a reputable source for silver material … good luck with it … Nick
@@Nickscreativestuff i already have silver grain on the way, i bought some snake chain and fittings from them as i was gonna make bracelets using resin 3d printed beads, then i found you and it changed everything lol
Great fun to be had with casting grain, especially combined with a 3-D printer. I would love to try printing models for casting, however I think it will be just too much for me to learn now … N
@@Nickscreativestuff if you decide to get one, use a resin printer, the hardest part of that is making sure what ever you create is supported properly and not taking away from quality. im using a 4k printer just thinking on designs as well binge watch your stuff whilst i wait for things to arrive.
Marvellous how technology moves on so quickly with resin printers now having the ability to make high resolution items small enough to use for casting jewellery. The only downside is the amount of silver you could get through if you get hooked with techniques like Delft Clay casting. I bought some bronze casting grain from Rio Grande in the US that casts well, looks great and saves the constant use of my precious silver … have fun with your adventures … N
Your videos are exclusive 👌👍
thanks for that Kajenoghrei … N
Omg absolutely stunning. And beautiful background music once more. It's absolutely gorgeous now this is not too complicated for me. This I could definitely give a go once I start on silver smithing. Gorgeous it's manly but yet feminine too. Wow do you sell your work nick ? And if so where I've never seen a link like that and I thought I had seen them all. Thank-you for sharing. Kirt
The original video with this design was very popular so I made a few variations on a theme hoping to get as many views. It’s surprising how malleable silver can be when needed and this technique relies on that.
The trick for getting this to work is lots of annealing at every step of the way. I only occasionally sell stuff to friends and family, being a hobbyist it’s more about enjoying the pure pleasure of creativity. Making videos and RUclips is more rewarding than trying to make jewellery to sell and a lot less demanding … N
@Nickscreativestuff I am way way too shy for video . I'd never so recorded video of my work no no I don't have the confidence. I don't do photos or video calls let alone videos going online to even
To help film my intro video I had to invite a friend around who’s confident he does nothing but film himself. eventually managed to get a clip that he told me I should use after enough Dutch courage … N
Hello, I'm a newbie smith and really appreciate your excellent videos! Can you tell me, please, what that tool you used to coil the silver wire is and where I might find one? Thank you, in advance. Best, M
hi Emma thanks for your comment, the three jaw chuck I used to make the small links I found in a secondhand tool shop I think it’s designed to be used with a lathe. The larger chuck i used to make the initial links was salvaged from a broken drill, I made a quick video showing how I put a handle on it … here’s the link if you want to see it …ruclips.net/video/HeuwrlBzxXI/видео.html … cheers Nick
Really nice. What is the solder flux called please
Thanks Badger On Tour, I use what’s called silver solder paste. It’s a solder that has been ground up into a powder, mixed with a wet sticky binder and flux, making it very quick, easy and convenient to use … N
How many mm is the silver rod ??
Nice video
Hi Gal, this chain was made with 1.3mm wire. The two different sized links were made around mandrels of 6.5mm and 3.5mm. The knotted link was opened up with a 3.5mm bridal … hope this helps … N
where did you get a pliers that when you squeeze them they spread apart and what are they called
hi Suzie, you could try googling external circlip pliers made for the vehicle mechanics industry. i’ve bought some in Halfords in the past … N
thank you
What's the size of your sawblade?
I mostly use a No. 2/0 for this sort of thing however I have another two saw frames set up with a fine blade and course. it also depends on what I have left after breaking the majority of them … N
