- It's the series that just won't die! If Mario Maker 2 had some updates that made the game... weirder.. here's what some of them would be!
*Rejected Update :* Koopas Underwater! They now swim like actual turtles, but to make it more realistic, when they move, they might choke on a plastic straw! But they're not the only ones. Now in the new poluted mode, every step you take is a gamble into the unknown! Are you gonna choke on a plastic straw or MCDonald's fry box? Who knows! Poluted Plains, Poluted Underwater, Heck, Even poluted castles! You can also combine this feature with the black hole mode, and even the night mode!
this is more of a super realistic mario maker idea

Rejected update: We've realized that Single-Player levels are getting boring, so we've added a feature so that any player, at any time, can drop into the level you're playing and do whatever they want with no repercussions! We think that this fair and non-abusable feature will really bring players together.
Rejected update: Storm! You're tired of all your levels using night day midnight or blackhole?
Well just use the stormy rain.
It will make your levels be fully dark flashing the normal level and become fully dark again!
Thunders will fall randomly putting in fire whatever it touches
Also you have a 25% the whole level floods mid level

Update: People are accidentally letting the battery die losing their checkpoint progress, so we would not let the battery die until the player beats the level
Now people have started accidentally selling their consoles & buying new ones, so now you can only buy one per house & it refuses to be carried out of the house with state of the art technology!

And now people are selling their houses with their switch inside so now with state of the art technology the Nintendo switch will now follow the player where ever they go
And now people are destroying their nintendo switch, so now you are held at gunpoint to beat the level!

Magikooper skins:
Magigoombas - When jumped on, it will either turn into a mushroom or explode into four Goombas
Magipokey - Can shoot spikes that could either be on fire (damage), frozen (freezes you), toxic (drains health) or rainbow (invincibility)
Magithwomp - When it falls down, it explodes into two different thwomps going sideways
Magihammer - When the hammers land on the floor, they explode
Magimoles - Will pop out and will throw either a Bob-omb or a Magigoomba at you
Magibowser - Will either throw Bob-ombs, hammers, Bullet Bills or shoot fire at you.
So cool
What about magidrybones - Throws 3 big bones that split into 3 smaller bones

Rejected Update: From now on once you touch your switch the gorilla glue sets in so your switch will be stuck to your hands forever! How fun
But people keep dying in real life when in the middle of their level, so now when you start a level, you become immortal
But people kept yelling at the switch makes the switchs feeling hurt and the game card pops up.

Okay, but combined enemies is genuinely a good idea.
Rejected update: 4 screech, place this enemy down and get too close and it screeches you! Then you get stunned for 3 minutes straight, and the pause menu is disabled when your screeched, and you lose all your power ups, you become small, and all enemy’s get loaded in! Better be lucky to survive this
Rejected Update: We all know that the Koopa Car is way too easy to control, so now we’re unavailing the Sports Car, it moves 100x faster than the Koopa Car and you can clear a level super quick!

I can actually imagine combining enemies to be pretty fun. Although, it would get out of hand if there were more than two. Rejected Update Idea: Dry Bones for every enemy. If you kill them, they’ll come back after a few seconds
why your pfp exploded
Goal randomizer: It randomizes the location of the goal every time you play the level. So sometimes, the goal is right in font of you, while it sometimes is in an impossible spot to reach! Now, you can make all of your levels make no sense
Rejected Update: RUclipsr Mode! A new line is added to each level in this mode that actual RUclipsrs have done, such as “If I touch the color green, I die/the video ends” or “Mario Maker but all of the enemies are randomized”
Super Immersive Maker Idea: When you're in an underwater level, your house gets flooded.
Normal Idea: God Rocky Wrench - When you see one of these, you better watch out, because they launch wrenches at 10x the speed! I'm definitely not going to rage when I see one of these!
Rejected update: Instant falling thwomp, they fall instantly when the level starts

Rejected idea: When you turn on “realistic mode” all enemies will vanish “except anything that exists in the real world” since goombas or a buzzy beetle don’t exist in real life

#1 Idea: We are now adding the stone from Story Mode to the editor, but unfortunately the manager at Nintendo is too cheap to add it in without all of it's properties, so we're changing it up just a little bit so that the stone is more affordable. First of all, the stone is only available in SMB1 because the tile set is the simplest. You also can't hold it in SMB1 so that's more money saved. With the SMB2 mushroom, you still can't hold it because it's so heavy. If you try, Mario won't pick it up. After 100 tries, he'll pick it up after gaining a random boost of muscular strength, but he'll instantly be crushed after.
Idea: So far, we had the slow snake block, fast snake blocks, and turbo snake blocks, so now we're adding the Spiky Snake Block. It comes with 4 variations. The first one is the normal one which has spikes and just acts normally. The Disguised Snake Block looks like a regular snake block, but when you land on it, uh-oh, you get penetrated and die. The chasing spiky snake block cannot use a set path because it always chases the player, but you can set a speed of 1000-Infinity. Finally, the Invisible Spiky Snake Block is, you guessed it, a spiky snake block that is invisible. At night, the snake blocks are 10 times bigger.
Idea: Have you ever wanted to become an angry sun? Well, now you can by using the You Sun! It looks like the Angry Sun, but it smiles and is blue. If you touch it, you don't take damage, and you turn into an Angry Sun instead. You can swoop from side to side, and destroy ANY enemy in one hit without taking damage. There are so many possibilities!
Idea: We are now adding the theme that everyone wants in Super Mario Maker 2: The Volcano Theme is now arriving to Super Mario Maker 2, but to make it more realistic, we are now making the lava rise so much faster because the volcano is erupting. Just imagine, a level where you have to climb out of the volcano with lava rising at 1000 pixels per second. Doesn't that sound fun?
Idea: Last time we showed you Midnight Mode, so now we're revealing Sunrise Mode! In this mode, the Angry Sun rises from the bottom of the screen, and is the size of the actual sun. If you can dodge the Sun, and even the Planet (somehow), you can't dodge the Rising Sun. Trust me.
Idea: We are adding the power up everyone wants in Super Mario Maker 2: The Spring Mushroom! It acts the same as it did in Super Mario Galaxy, but you jump so high you can't come back down.

Rejected Update: you’ve seen the dap, and the floss, and when you think there couldn’t be anything better, we now have… Standing still! It’s not like just not moving, no, this is so much more different that you have to use the ZR button to trigger it. Just think, you are in a multiplayer versus level, and you just trolled a player, press the ZR button and BOOM! You just stand there like it never happened. We can guarantee you won’t hate it!
Rejected idea: T-Pose! By pressing R, L, ZL and ZR at the same time, Mario T-Poses, making all the enimies nearby evaporate.
And Mario himself!

Rejected Idea: Since you've already got Chris Pratt in there, why not include the other Mario movie cast members too? Like Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, etc.

Rejected update: do you want a level where you have to go through an invisible maze, well now there are blocks that are invisible and can't be destroyed, not even by you. We can think of all the fun levels you'd make.
Rejected update: Behold…the true, ultimate, solution for the checkpoint problem. Nothing, not even destroying your switch, and not even getting Wanda maximoff to destroy it when coated with dargonite, hell, not even manipulating reality will be able to surpass this solution.
Removing the checkpoint entirely!
Rejected Update: -1 Player Mode, You will play as spectator only to see some Enemy completing the level instead of you, perfect for cinema levels
Adjustable bob-ombs: You can make bob-ombs’ explosion radius as large as you want! This also works with the combined enemies.
The 0 coin coin, trust me, I think it'd actually be quite rewarding and satisfying collecting a big 0 coin coin, it won't give you any coins but they don't matter anyways.

No Chain Chomp Stump:Now you can place a Stump without a Chain Chomp, WOW!! So cool! Imagine the endless possibilities
Also Danny, I accidentally dropped by switch at a local building that was getting wrecked, and it was destroyed, I heard its happening to a lot of other people too
Rejected idea: Learn how to type Mode, now you can play the nintendo classic game, Learn how to type with mario 1 and 2! Make your own levels and Type methods in the new game mode!
*Rejected Update:* inconvenient mode! We all know you can play levels anytime and anywhere you want, so with this new update, you can only play at the most inconvenient times and places!

Rejected update: discord powerup! When you pick it up, you get 2 options on your entire screen to choose = light mode and dark mode! If you choose dark mode, the screen will get 50% darker, and you will receive a free super star in a course you were playing right now! If you choose the light mode, it will erase ALL of your progress in SMM! All of your endless mode records, your clothings, your levels and worlds, etc., and it doesnt even tell you about it! Also after choosing light mode your screen will go so bright its literally brighter than white itself, exploding your eyes immediately! Also these 2 options to choose will bounce around the screen, so its harder to click on any of them, and its much harder to click on dark mode than on light mode because there are 10 light mode option buttons that bounce around the screen at medium speed, and only 1 dark mode button that will bounce around at lightspeed! And 1 more thing, if light mode and dark mode buttons will overlap with each other, cuz buttons dont have collision for each other, then dark mode will hide behind light mode so that you cant click it!
Rejected Update: You Know We Have Sun, Moon, Black Hole And Midnight? Well Now We Have Star! It Makes The Whole Entire Level VERY Bright.

Idea: Cat Mario difficulty, it makes the game much much harder by turning everything into a bunch of traps and trolls

You can jump normally, but if you walk or fall off of a platform, you fall like a 50T weight!
Rejected update: that fixes every troll update ever made so that those dumb troll hackers don’t tick you off
Piranha plant mask: you bite yourself by pressing Y. So useful!
Rejected idea : The 1 down mushroom, it is like 1up mushroom, exept that if you touch it, you'll loose a life.
Also, it is exactly the same as a 1 up mushroom, so good luck if you want to get one life up or one life down.
And, if you are at 0 lifes and get a 1 down mushroom, you can continue at a negative number, isn't that great ? So that means that you'll die In Real life.

It turns Mario into a real life human. But it reduces every move that Mario had, even 3d world
Rejected update idea: A Goomba so giant you can't see him at whole.
Rejected Update: Jack-in-a-box, if you hit a question mark block with a jack-in-a-box it will cancel out all music playing and play the Jack-in-a-box theme (and sound extra creepy at night ghost levels), then maybe again, and maybe even again and it intensifies, then all of a sudden it POPS UP at you like a jumpscare, or either it's just really goofy.
Idea. Add a jetpack.

Introducing: Enemy skins!
These let you paint something on an enemy to make it look unique!
You could make a rainbow goomba, or a purple koopa!
These enemies also get an extra hit point, too!
Rejected update : Kazotsky kick, from tf2, other players can join in, but you have to pay 3 lootcrate keys, and speaking of...
Lootcrates : You pay money, and you unbox an item, and you basically always lose money, unless you unbox a super item
Super Mario ODYSSEY power up. When you can pick up cappy power up then you can throw cappy and do moves you can’t do in 2d styles like (ground pound, dive,ect)
Rejected Update: Little Tommy boss. Summons every enemy in the game all at once. And this time there are no hidden dev blocks to save you. All there is is a star but of course it's the inverted star or else would it be a true Little timmy

Rejected update: Hammer bros that can throw whatever you want to Mario! Things like thwomps, bob ombs, spikes or even more hammer bros!
There should be a semi automatic sniper rifle, and whenever you use it, there’s a lot of recoil, and it causes you to go off screen.
Idea: Boos steal your power ups just like in Mario Kart
Rejected Update: Backwards thwomp, goes to the backround
Rejected updates: reverse mushroom reverses everything even the pause menu
IDEA: The POW blocks are ok, but we want more. Now we are introducing… NUKE POW! It is a POW so big it destroys the whole game! Even the online mode!!!

Idea for not rejected updates, only for new game: [I don't have idea for name] in this game, if you wanna start level, you must jump into screen. Then you are playing Mario maker as Mario, Luigi or toad! And you have 2 options:
1. Somebody playing on controller as you.
2. You playing yourself.
And if you wanna go back you have 3 options:
1. Win level
2. Get your lives to 0, but then you have ban for every Mario game on 24 hours.
3 go to menu, but you got ban too this tome on only 12 hours
Colorblind mode: Completely removes red and green from the game, so you can't even see it.
Now, you won't have to worry about confusing the colors, since they won't even be there!
The Laka-Rocky-Bowser? Now THAT'S an enemy I wanna see in a rom hack! 😆😂🤣
Rejected Update:
New Super Mario Bros Wii style, it’s the same as NSMBU but we all know we’ll like it better
Jokes aside, the Bob-Omb mask would be a pretty cool idea for the game. People could make levels where ur forced to grab the Bob-Omb mask and then u need to quickly collect a mushroom so when the Bob-Omb mask blows up it doesn't kill you

Rolling bomb:a bomb that will chase you but can’t get to you if your higher but just to make it harder you get 5 seconds till it explodes, if you size it up you need to be 40 blocks away from it to avoid the explosion

This enemies combine when no used to much can be a very interesting concept!
Rejected Update: HEAVEN MODE everything is so bright, it will make your Eyes get better at seeing. So much fun!
Rejected update idea: plz do pipes that require a key to enter. No key, no entrance into the pipe
Rejected update: battle pass. For every level you complete you get tiers. Every tier is a new power-up or item that helps you in levels
Rejected update: you know that goomba, koopa troopa, and even *fish* are too easy to dodge! So we are adding a red n black version of these enemies! These red n black things will come at super fast speed at you! But the cooler thing is that they *can jump and know where mario is,* nothing can go wrong at all!
Rejected Update: "We know that you love not being able to use clear conditions from story mode, so we decided to do something to change that! Removing all clear conditions used in story mode! Now you don't have to worry about making your level unique!"
2 ideas:
- invisible mode!
You can't see mario, and the camera moves randomly on the screen so you have no idea where you are!
- Very useful enemy variant!
You can't see them, you can't interact with them, but they still count towards the enemy limit
Idea: Jumping: When Mario jumps, your chair jumps while you are sitting! So your jumping in a chair!
But what if you're sitting on the floor?
Invisible enemies When you think it's safe, BAM! You get crushed by a thwomp and also when you think you can just go to the goal point, BOOM! You get killed by a Meowser!
Update: color switch(basically like on-off switch but with more colors)
The enemy Combining actually seeems like it could be used in fun ways
Back to the future but it’s the koopa car. Mario goes 88MPH, and the entire switch gets erased from existence

2:54 maybe you can add some unused enemies for example the canon bro and Beached koopa with a broom planned for SMB1 but went unused
Rejected Update: We know that the classic Mario power-ups are too boring so we are revealing a ring power-up! Touch this in you'll turn into Sonic. Sonic's ability is that he goes so fast that when you move once, he'll already have gone a whole level's length! Have fun beating levels with only a touch of a button!
Mario Kart Wii's most popular item: the Thunder Cloud! When you get it, it'll hover over your head for 10 seconds until it strikes on you and damages you! The only way to get rid of it is to pass it on to an enemy by running into them! Doesn't that sound fun?
Edit: Also, while in Mario Kart, the Thunder Cloud gives you a speed boost, we didn't feel like that was necessary for Super Mario Maker 2! Just wanted to let you all know! Happy making!
Rejected update: Microphone powerup, you wont continue the level until you beat a song from fnf
Rejected Update: Because of real-life physics, when you destroy the sun, there won't be any light in the level.

Since everyone loves the car in 3D World, we added the red car! It only has one hit until it breaks, and if you hit an enemy, it also breaks! This will be a lot of fun for those Desert Bus levels
