This band was one of the best in any category of music in the 70's .. I sold all of my vinyl recently after converting to a hard drive and AMA are still my favorite band..
My favorite also. They were so versatile. Southern rock, straight country, country rock, bluegrass, even a hint of jazz as in "Same Ol' Me". Saw them live several times and they never disappointed.

He was a great. I can't listen to Chris Stapleton's big hit without hearing Russel. Still listen to these records regularly. Really hated it when he died.
I always had some forlorn hope that the A.R.A. would tour the UK in the 70’s as I played their LPs to death so I could live out my dream. Alas it was not to be. Still I’ve kept all their stuff and never tire of listening to it to this day. Rest in peace Butch & Russell.
