The first few times I listened to this I legitimately thought it was a true story 💀 Nonetheless this track always hits. The instrumental for this carried me through a LOT of bad moments and remains one of my top comfort songs. Easily some of Eminem's best work imo ✨

I prefer metal alot to Eminem, I don't know why but this seems like the only non-metal song i can stand, i think it has an amazing story behind it, and it was done brilliantly,

I feel that Metal has its harshness, pain and abrasive traits through the guitars, sometimes the lyrics(which in some genres are whimsical) but this song has its pain in the words and the voice infliction. In both genres what we focus on is the pain, the part that touches our hearts. I, like you, favor metal and I notice that I have much respect for these lyricists and the simple beat and rhythm. I think the hardest lyric is perhaps the most simple, "I hope you know I tore all your pictures off the wall" because when we hear that, that means everything is lost. All after that is just the chaos, but the saddest is the break of it. Metal hits hard in the heart, though some don't admit to that. This song and story does too. That's why it resonates.

The last one as a wise answer of E, like a big brother with some advice to live better his situation. Then the instrumental: the delicate guitar and the evocative bass, the sweet voice of Dido and the beat. During the "writing" part, as Stan and E, they ad some pencil scratching (very creative) to remind us a comfort situation, some place dark and intimate. Then Stan is outside, under the rain (with the rain sound in backg) , some rare thunder, the situation now is critic, he's yelling, Gf is screaming. Then, back to the quiet place, the calm after the storm, with the E answer and again the scratches in the background. The games are done, no more hope for Stan. We know that, E not. I prefer metal alot to Eminem, I don't know why but this seems like the only non-metal song i can stand, i think it has an amazing story behind it, and it was done brilliantly,

I feel that Metal has its harshness, pain and abrasive traits through the guitars, sometimes the lyrics(which in some genres are whimsical) but this song has its pain in the words and the voice infliction. In both genres what we focus on is the pain, the part that touches our hearts. I, like you, favor metal and I notice that I have much respect for these lyricists and the simple beat and rhythm.
I think the hardest lyric is perhaps the most simple, "I hope you know I tore all your pictures off the wall" because when we hear that, that means everything is lost. All after that is just the chaos, but the saddest is the break of it.
Metal hits hard in the heart, though some don't admit to that. This song and story does too. That's why it resonates.
This song is one of my all time favs, in my opinion its one of post N.W.A Hip Hop peaks, its so sad on one side and so scarry on the other, and to write lyrics like a letter and still sound so great is such a point for Ems lyrical skill

The storytelling and the structure: the first and main part he's Stan and his character evolution, showing more and more his obsession whit E. The last one as a wise answer of E, like a big brother with some advice to live better his situation.
Then the instrumental: the delicate guitar and the evocative bass, the sweet voice of Dido and the beat.
During the "writing" part, as Stan and E, they ad some pencil scratching (very creative) to remind us a comfort situation, some place dark and intimate.
Then Stan is outside, under the rain (with the rain sound in backg) , some rare thunder, the situation now is critic, he's yelling, Gf is screaming.
