    We love how coriander, cilantro or dhania, enhances the flavor of any delicacy; be it curries, rice or snacks. However, to keep these herbs fresh for longer is one tough task, which generally results in a rotten bunch that's tossed into the dustbin. But if you know the right way to preserve this flavourful and super-healthy tasty herb, it may stay fresh for longer!
    Here's how to Store Coriander/Dhaniya/Cilantro:
    ~~~FOR BIG BUNCH OF CORIANDER
    1. Store fresh leaves in an airtight box in the fridge without washing: 2.Remove thick stalks.
    3. Do not wash.
    4. Place a paper towel at the bottom of the box and then coriander leaves on top, wrap the towel over the leaves.
    5. Take out the amount you need, wash and use. It will last for 1 month.
    ~~~FOR SMALL BUNCH OF CORIANDER/ FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ON-THE-GO MEANING IN A RUSH & LIKE TO STORE WASHED CORIANDER
    1.De-stalk and wash leaves.
    2. Spread on a towel and leave for a few hours or overnight to dry off the water, because water makes the leaves rot faster.
    3. Wrap them in a paper towel and store in an airtight box or in a sealed plastic bag in the vegetable tray of the fridge.
    5. They will last a week or longer. But this has less shelf life than washed one!

    Dear Kajal, Excellent suggestion. My small suggestion without taking away your authority. Spread apart on paper towel after cutting off roots for 15 minutes to remove moisture. Use two layers of towel in bottle for better absorption of moisture. Not good idea to wash before storing. Subjected to moisture and high or low temperature shock. What you said in video is just fine. Thanks and please have a nice day. Dr. Mehta

    I have seen in Israel that the roots and stems of coriander are not discarded. They are thoroughly washed multiple times, cut into 2-inch long pieces and added into the gravies or soups during the simmering stage. It gives a wonderful aroma to the preparation and is removed before serving.

    Another way is to stand in half glass of water and stays fresh for 3-4 weeks .I store lettuce like her her style it is washed and ret to use for sandwiches.
    I have that lettuce dryer box which is cheap and when you spin all the excess water comes under the basket.

    Hi ,
    I keep the corainder in towel tissue and in refrigerator like shown in the video but they are not fresh.. some leaves start to get wasted due to water inside the container and within 2 weeks most of them are brown or yellow ... I keep in huge towel and air tight containers but still the same issue
    And curry leaves without tissue become completely dry ...

    • @CreativeCookingbyDrKajal
      @CreativeCookingbyDrKajal  4 года назад +2

      That could be because the container is allowing the moisture to go in and thats why the leaves are getting wasted.
      You can do any of 2 to keep all the leaves fresh for a long time.....
      Firstly you can change your air tight container
      Or secondly whenever you see that there is moisture in the container just change your towel and you will see that this will help to keep the leaves fresh for a very long time.
      I hope this helps you.

    Those are called chinese but they are hybrid . They are developed by agriculture scientist by changing the genes which which are in anyway harmful to the growth or sale . And putting those genes which are useful in anyway. They are also indian😊. Btw tips are good . I used to cover them with paper but then i forgot to do . Now i will do. If they are washed , put in netted basket with stems apart from each other so that all parts of stems are exposed to air and put under ceiling fan for half an hour for drying And then they can be kept in the way you have told. then we will not have to wash it before use and can be used instantly. Just a modified idea. Best wishes for next video. 🙏
