If I wasn’t queuing causal conquest with a friend i probably wouldn’t play. Pretty much 50/50 chance that there are 2-3 people that have never touched a video game and are playing with a toaster
My experience literally every fucking game. I also have at least 1 teammate who doesn't know where to go, what to build, and how not to feed. It literally makes 9/10 matches unplayable
@@slicedice5123The game needs a proper introduction & tutorial to conquest for new players then. Shouldn’t be this hard to have fun because no one knows what they are doing in a match.
@@wolfbair7617 I like to think positive and think it’s awesome that people are trying out the game but I don’t understand why so many people that have absolutely zero idea what a moba even is have paid money to play the early access version of the game without learning anything beforehand. Especially when there is a free, debatably better option to be learning on
I stopped playing because of the match making. Played my first ranked game, literally at 0 sr and I played against Inbound on his main account. Like wtf.
I like the game, but yesh your points hit home. Personally, the thing that really puts me off is the lack of weight and and weird timings on auto attacks. A lot of the melee is missing fredback and makes me second guess if I had actually hit or not. Ranged autos have a spectrum. Some of them feel god, and others feel like I have input delay like crazy. Theyre small thing, but its a constant thing that really affects my gameplay and I stopped playing because Im hoping it gets resolved quickly to improve my own experience. I personally didnt mind less content since it was an Alpha, but I was expecting the fundamentals to have a level of polish indicative of 10 yesrs of development and having nearly 100% of the team working on it
Another thought, killing should feel GREAT but it doesn't. The 'gentle fade away infinity war turn into particles' effect for killing is AWFUL. Looks great, super unappealing. Let me see and feel an EXPLOSION. Think smash bros when you kill someone and take a stock, theres a HUGE explosion and it feels great/super addictive. Get people addicted to getting those kills!
I'm almost 200% that effect is a place holder for the death animations. It's a quick way to show the God dying without having to also work on the death animations and the rest of Smite 2. I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt they were planning on using that stock UE5 effect in the final game. They're probably either have problems porting the original animations and have to do them by hand so they're just pushing them off.
Honestly I’ll be in a fight and not know I killed them for a couple seconds I’ll be looking around for them & have to remember they’re the little light. It’s definitely unsatisfying imo too
i actually really like that effect, yall letting nostalgia ruin a new game thats in early access alpha. its all good tho the game will find a new player base that doesn't constantly compare it to the past like OW2 has.
I cant watch Smite 2, theres so much visual clutter I just cannot see through it all. The visuals kill me. I really feel like you hit it right on the head with the lack of matchmaking and the state of ranked/q'ing with the lack of variety
You're right. I like the effects, but in a full team fight in the jungle if everyone is casting abilities it's very difficult to tell wtf is going on lol
@@beardomcgee5005 As a diamond scrub I do get lost in the sauce during these moments. So there is blame to be put onto my inability to keep track. I often find myself having to use audio to breakdown fights. Am I the average viewer? maybe?
7:00 is right, I stopped playing 1 years ago, but when I heard about 2, i was interested and wanted to be ready for it, so i came back to 1 to practice. I'm enjoying 1 again
Because one game has been worked on for 10 plus years and one has been worked on for about 1. Lets not pretend smite 1 wasnt dog shit for almost 3 years before it even felt “polished”
@@pyrrhicdub yes, at some point "it is an alpha will not work....because it won't be an alpha and will be in a much better state. Thank you for your completely asinine comment. Also, smite 1 literally had so much spaghetti code. That's one of the big reasons why they are making a sequel. Saying Smite 2 is "foundationally flawed" is completely unfounded and you have zero idea what you're talking about. I have to assume at this point you're between 13-16 years old so I'll end it here without being to mean to a child.
Speaking as a software engineer, there is a tradeoff in productivity to a shorter release cadence, let alone daily releases. Not a statement about their current cadence, just food for thought. But I, too, am frustrated by the state of smite 2.
Smite 1 is just so clean, they really got their work cut out for them. I think a big issue is lack of gods for classes. One team can legit pick every adc
I have 5k hours played in smite 1, ive never been the best player but reaching diamond-masters usually in ranked id consider myself better than average. In smite 2 i swear i am straight up playing against the best players smite 2 has to offer. every casual game feels like a pro match with money on the line and i just cant do it anymore. this game went from stress reliefe to stress inducing. Maybe ill try again when smite 2 goes f2p and new players start playing
I'm about to hit PLT in smite 2, Yet in smite 1 there were to many players who will throw the game, or straight bots. I deleted smite 1 as soon as 2 came. Smite 2 requires more skill than smite 1. While smite 1 everyone just copied the same gods and builds.
Lmaoooo. Yeah, because in Smite 2, they're not just copying builds... admittedly, I've only put like 10-20 hours into smite 2 so far, but anyone who deals damage builds like a hunter, and it works. That's not how it should be. They gotta fix that@Life_is_winning
@chevysux95 false If you can counter any build and it's no real meta then that's how it should be If you needed to copy a RUclips a build to be good at the game that's why your losing now because you can counter everything 😉
The fact Hi Rez Ole Yellered S1 before S2 Alpha was in a decent spot is crazy. S2 is fun like i see the vision, like u said in a couple months. i dont mind getting a couple games in S2 see how its going but theres no retention and with S1 lights being off i dont swap to S1 when i get tired of dealing with the bugs in S2.
@@Sassafrass95 The minor balance tweeks and few cross skins...nah im talking about SPL, No new characters (not the 5 but maybe 2 or 3), map updates etc.
Agree that smite 1 should have had at least 1 more year of full support. Most of the gods they have added to the game needs more update to there kit. The problem with the alpha is that it treated as a fully realest game by Hi-rez, if there where big and more substantial change to how the game work more often I believe most people would be more accepting of bugs in the game. The change to smite 2 feel like the bigger patches in smite 1. This is the time to test and make substantial changes to the game. For example, i believe that cc in the game need to be re balanced. cc need to be bound to a stat that is not connected to damage. there are way to many cc and damaging agilitys that makes you feel like you watching a movie and not playing a game sens you can do anything until you are dead. So in smite 2 they could half all the cc time and re balanced the damage of agilitys that did both and se what happen, and do some adjustment the next week. This could and probable is a to extrem and bad change but it is a good way to find a good solution that otherwise would never be found. Because at the moment one it seems that smite 2 will have the same problem as smite 1.
The fact they charged $30 and only allowed people to play for 48 hours every few weekends initially killed any hype for this game. They ripped a lot of loyal fans off, and I can't see myself coming back with other options like Deadlock that won't charge me $40 to test a buggy mess or restrict my access to the "alpha" product I paid to support.
Interesting, my personal experience with the Elite queue was ‘average high diamond / low masters queue in Smite 1 but I’m waiting 10-15 min for it’. So the matchmaking wasn’t as bad as in a regular ranked queue. But I do agree with the majority of other points, and the general feeling of not wanting to play the game is also there
For me, it's the matchmaking as well. I'm a new player (2 months of exp), and I can definitely feel the skill gap in most matches where I queue a normal Conquest.
I got into smite in season 8. I quickly fell in love with it and had wondered how I missed it for so many years. I was a super noob for a while, but watching you I learned. I got much better. Bought the smite 2 founder packs. played the first 2 playtests... it was 0 fun. there were a lot of reasons but mostly it was because i was overwhelmed having to learn all new shit. all they had to do was make smite 1 on the UE5 engine. not hard, not sure why they are deviating from that.
I know it's alpha blahblah but it's currently a worse version of the first game they should have let it cook longer. Nobody wants to get into or test something that is worse than the first game.
I'm quite a casual Smite enjoyer. I'm really just waiting for my pool of gods to come out to start playing smite 2 more than the 10h I put into it to try the news things. There is quite a lot to play in the meanwhile besides smite, but yeah, I can totally see Weak3n 'side here
As a former COD only player who switched to Smite and has only played Smite for 4-5 years now.... the learning curve was HUGE for me. I think a lot of people who get into Smite experience this, and to have to switch to a new game (Smite 2) and learn new things, it's going to take a lot for us to switch over. Bug fixes, interfaces, matchmaking, etc. (Just my opinion).
My biggest problem i’ve had with smite 2 is getting into games with pros when i’m no where near their level and having them run through my games. That simple fix would let me play the game for hours without getting frustrated after a loss like that. I played one game this week against panitom went 0/13 and just stopped playing that day because i was so annoyed with how that game went. The reason i don’t like watching smite 2 content at the moment is because i feel like there’s nothing new. New gods are good for about a week new items the same but having the same gods and the same item builds for every video gets boring after so long of watching the same stuff where i’d rather just play it myself and see how it goes
I desperately want Smite 2 to be a success. Smite is one of if not my favorite competitive game, but I cant help but play 2 games of Smite 2 and want to stop it just isn't clicking. W Weaken for continuing to provide actually valuable feedback, every point hits home.
I only play Vidya a couple of nights a week. When i do I’ll play one smite 2 game just to work on the god leveling then hop off and play something else that i can actually grind
They need to start patching more frequently because there has been a Thanatos bug in smite 2 since alpha launch to where if an enemy backs at execute range you can permanently see that enemy on the mini-map no matter where they are.
My conspiracy theory is that they fucked the ranked system on purpose so that the ex pros from the SPL in smite 1 would bubble up to the top again by 5-man queueing and then when they did their little tournament in Vegas it would be the same guys playing expecting that to be a draw for Smite viewership, there is no way that the 5-man queueing thing is not intentional, there is no way they expected a rag tag team of randos with no communication to stand any chance against a 5-man of ex pro players with communication.
I’m here because I’ve been playing Deadlock & I’m a League player from the start. Used to casually play smite on Xbox too. Shame to see what’s going on. Hoping this community the best!
Weekly is not the best strategy; it doesn't allow enough time to figure out how patches are actually impacting the game. It takes longer than a week for the player base to adjust to changes, so early data is often misleading. We see this all the time in League, where there are many changes, and some champions' win rates skyrocket for the first week or so after the patch. Usually, there is an answer in the game, like building a different item when fighting them in the lane. Once this is discovered, the win rate goes down. Nerfing too prematurely can actually dumpster champions. Especially if there was an answer in the game but not enough time was given to figure it out. A great example of this is Singed in League. When they went back to legendary items, no mythics, Singed had an insane win rate. This was due to Singed players having a pretty straightforward, "obvious" build order. Everyone bitched that Singed was insane, so they hard nerfed him. A week or 2 later, after players had more time with the patch, Singed's win rate plummeted because he was not as op as people believed. Many other champions just had more difficult build orders to figure out, and MR was actually way better than people had realized (directly countering Singed). Minishcap has a long video that breaks this down. Also, I am not a Singed player. When I used to play LOL I was a Yorick. I am just sharing another perspective the devs might have when it comes to patching. I do agree every 3 weeks is not enough. However, with so few champions in Smite 2, aggressively patching in this manner every week might end up making the game feel a lot worse and more frustrating. Making too many changes too fast does not allow the game to be figured out. I know people don't like it when the game is figured out too much, but this is a MOBA. There is so much depth that even patching every 2 weeks, the game isn't going to get cracked. This is also assuming that the patches are well thought out and decent in size. Just some food for thought.
I was very excited about smite 2, but I agree with you. I hadn't enjoyed it except the better look and easy to navigate items. But I had zero fun and was confused. I was never so terrible at smite 1 and this made me question why even try playing. It ruined my excitement. Still hoping for smite 2 to be amazing in future. Don't know how long it'll be.
I honestly think they need to move over more (preferably all) Devs on to Smite 2 and get the train on full throttle because having a game update frequently is a massive incentive to keep playing and encourage people to be engaged with the game outside of playing it. This plus eSports is best for player retention imo
@13:50 topic about daily patching. Keep in mind that smite 2 is out on Microsoft and play station store. You know they have to go through patches they always need approval from those companies to release the patches right? They can’t release a patch on any day they want. Approvals take time. Same thing goes with so many app stores. When a game releases a patch it has to go through an approval process first.
I think another issue is the financial side of it as well. So many people, myself included, have paid for content that is unavailable so there isn’t a return on the investment. Where as Smite 1 gives you that shiny eye candy that makes you feel like you’re getting what you paid for.
I love smite and the concept of it so naturally no matter what I enjoy playing smite 2 . Weak3n’s points are valid I also hate , hate , hate interrupted animations it’s the only things that kinda halts the game for me. So far just been bullying ppl as Neith while my friend runs Athena and the wombo combo damage is crazy
Here is what I will say. I agree with most of your points like the matchmaking and weekly patches. I understand the matchmaking point more than anything because I as a silver player in smite 2 matched against Rexsi and double j who both were diamond at the time which should not happen. As for the weekly patches I completely understand that too. Scaling and damage buffs/nerfs is quite literally as simple as changing a number. They should absolutely be nerfing items and gods via numbers changes weekly at a minimum. As for the actual gameplay I actually think it’s in a pretty good spot there are bugs and feels issues but I think those will be fixed at some point. But yeah balance changes need to be more frequent I had to make myself play someone other than Hecate/nieth because they were just very clearly the best 2 gods in mid for far too long. By far my biggest gripe though is the lack of new. Gold fury and fire giant are extremely important to what makes smite smite every other objective on the map should be new. For the amount of time I am able to put into the game each week it’s in a decent spot each patch keeps me interested for about 2 weeks and I think a weekly numbers based patch with a larger patch that might require animation tweaks to do a buff or nerf could do wonders for the game.
My main thing is the item shop of smite 2. I’m a console player at heart and the smite 1 item shop was perfect in my opinion. And when they did that thing where they made the item shop more pc like, it made me not want to play the game at all during that time due to how difficult it was to even get used to it and its the same for smite 2. I feel like they can add a separate shop layout like how they did on smite 1
I absolutely love smite 1, smite 2 I played for two days and never want to pick it up again. I tried my best to like it I swear, it’s just not it, not even close.
Okay, so I played Smite for around 3-4 years from the beginning. I stopped playing when my friends and I moved on to other games but continued to watch SoloDoubleJ, Weak3n, SamDaDude, and Rexi up until now. I will honestly pick up Smite 2 when it is fully released but I literally am just waiting for that time to come. I feel like this gap until then is the issue and it’s just a matter of survival until that happens. Until then, I’m just watching videos here and there until I can actually play it and watching Smite 1 seems kinda pointless with no more updates.
Yeah, just wait for full release or maybe beta. But, you might want to get a Founders ($30 version is best deal), just for the double gems and god pack, because Founders Editions in video games are limited time bundles. The double gems and god pack might not be available later
I still play smite 1. There are lots of problems with smite 2 but the single biggest issue is that my AA are not firing sometimes while I hold the button down. I have to release and repress the button in order for my AA to fire. I play on PS5
Smite 2 should’ve been announced but it should’ve been delayed for another year when it had sufficient content compared to Smite 1. Smite 1 should have been supported with minimal updates as a transition period.
Well I guess it's a good thing that Smite 2 is going to be Hi-Rez almost sole focus going forward with Smite 1 and Paladins having skeleton crews to keep the game running after layoffs at Hi-Rez.
At this pace I really wish ported gods got the love Yimr got. Very few gods like Bacchus, Wukong, Tsuku, ect.. are S2 ready no real tweaks needed But gods like Ama, He bo, Olo, ect… could’ve really used some TLC to spice them up However I really don’t mind I don’t alpha test for free and have plenty of other games to play in the meantime and I’ll check out S2 when it’s more ready I have 7k matches in S1 so I know all about the history, bugs, E-sport, ect…
For Arena, I like it more, the matchmaking not existing makes games one sided and I'm not a huge fan of the bushes/grass but I do prefer it over Smite 1 and the kill streak buff (forget the name) and the gifts also I prefer be removed but it isn't a big preference for me.
If they actually opened up the game to everyone instead of keeping it behind their founders pack sooner I know for a fact that queues would be more diverse. I played Smite for 9 years and signed up for a Smite 2 code as soon as I could, and I still didn't receive one. Idk how they made their alpha code selections but it definitely wasn't based on loyalty, money spent or play time.
11:30 Spot on there, thats what GGG is doing with Path of Exile. They're developing the 2nd game while still updating the first one. Really baffling that Hi-Rez isn't doing the same thing, how are they making money?
I’m a console player. My thing is with Smite 2 is, in addition to everything that was said, the new systems don’t work as well on Console. Relics always sucked before but on Smite 2 with the supposed better code and engine I have to slam the button multiple times to use my 1 relic😊
Smite 2 should have released in 2026 with the entire roster from smite 1 from when they announced smite 2, kept everything else exactly the same just engine update thats all then ONCE smite 2 launched with that baseline THEN they continue to iterate etc etc. THE biggest problem for me with smite was the random freezes, random crashing, players getting disconnected etc when im on a 3.5k PC that just shouldnt have been happening.
I want to play Smite 2 but matchmaking makes it impossible - the only reason i bought it was due to the matchmaking changes they showed off. I also don't watch many Smite 2 videos at this point because it's difficult to tell if something is actually good or if it's against new players.
I dont agree with patching gods every day or so, or even every month. I understand atm lack of content makes you want anything different to spice things up. But that will quell as more gods release but imagine trying to learn a build or rotation for a god & having to worry that the dev will nerf him into hell this week. Why would I want to spend time trying to grind a god or mastering rotation. Also you repeated the same points for like 22 minutes but I watched to the end anyways.
I promise there is some sort of matchmaking on some level. Every game I get 4 bronze/clay ranks against a full team of minimum gold. There is no way that’s a coincidence. It never puts masters or obsidian players on my team. At best I may get a silver every 15 games. The fact I have a 70% WR is a miracle when every game I have kids feeding/quitting/surrendering at 10
This is scary to hear because I really really want smite 2 to be more successful and be at least twice as big at smite 1. It is the only game I have ever played so consistently for the past 10 years.
If I am to chose between playing SMITE 2 or staying at SMITE 1 and then quitting, I chose SMITE 1. The only reason I play smite is nostalgia and rankeds. I don't want to start learning things anew bcs it will take too much time and I have enough other games to play. If SMITE 1 ends, I am ending with smite altogether.
Lack of matchmaking is a problem caused by low player count imo. 2.5k is not a lot in the grand scheme of things, and smite 1 matchmaking was already struggling when that game had 10k+ people to use in the formula. It seems like they want smite 2 matchmaking to be more consistent when they implement it, but it looks like its going to be more "picky" for lack of a better word, and a pickier matchmaking system CAN NOT function without a large base of players to pull from. By "large" I'm talking like 20-30k or more. Otherwise it will just end up doing what its doing right now when it can't make games according to its algorithms and just throws people into any game it can. They HAVE to get people playing the game on a meaningful level or it will never get to a point where it's enjoyable in a competitive sense. Idk how this can be done at the moment, but for sure more frequent patches would be helpful I'd imagine. Personally, I just hop on for a game or 2 every patch, see that stuff is still pretty much how it was last patch, play the new gods a bit, and then go play something else for another month or 2 because it just isn't interesting to play smite anymore. And that's a shame. I have been playing smite 1 for over 10 years, since S0-1, and to watch the game that I hold in such high regard get mishandled like this by hi-rez saddens me. Smite 2 has a lot of potential imo, but I'll check back in on it in January and hopefully it'll be in a better state by then. I should've seen it coming with their track record though I suppose.
Try Smite 2 on the first week after a patch, then on week 2 focus on your other variety games, and in week 3 picking 1 new game and having episodes of the first 10 hours of "blah blah blah" with a new game every 3rd week! if you like a week 3 game add it to the week 2 rotation
See my issue with smite 2 that's walling me off is I'm a console player and the new shop is a absolute pain to navigate if they made it where you could switch to the old shop in settings or something or just adjust it that would be so nice no matter how much I play and try to get use to it, it still feels like it takes forever
personally when i wanna have fun i play smite 1 as well. when i play smite 2 if i make a mistake and get behind even 1 level i just don't get to play the game anymore and doesn't help with how open the map feels amd easy to be invaded/get invaded. in smite 1 if I get even 1 level behind i can still make a comeback by playing well. ive even made comebacks from 3 levels behind just cause i outplayed better. it feels so much harder to do in smite 2. if 1 person gets behind in 2 it always seems to affect whole team as well. in smite 2 1 person behind allows enemy to free farm and steal all of our teams farm and snowball to win. even if you ward in smite 2 you almost cant stop invasions. cause how big map is.
Imo they should’ve waited on “ranked” altogether till the game was fully released and more people were playing. It’s hard to even complain about no matchmaking considering the very low average player count.
Im not playing because the game feels really sink or swim right now, and it doesnt feel like a lot of the gods are very well balanced. Im roughly 1800ish SR and it just feels pike every game is either a roll or a wash, and that combined with the fact a lot of the gods are either too good or too bad. You could pick up like 95% of the cast in Smite 1 and expect to do good in role with that god if you were building decently competently, werent outleveled, etc. But right now the disparity between gods basically makes it feel like they dont exist, the most concerning example of that to me wad when I picked up anubis in smite 2, won a game pretty decently ahead and somehow still felt like i couldnt pull picks or burst people even on ult while ahead on gold items and levels, there are a few gods like that and a few gods like sus and bac that just make the the game instead of feeling like it has 23 gods, that it has closer to 15 gods you are consistently seeing which is a big problem at the roster this size in 5v5 modes. Id really like to see unusually heavy handed nerfs and buffs in weekly patches just to try to get gods to a position of balance quickly even if it means the game will feel really bad for a month or two. The roster size isnt the problem, its that you have 1-2 gods youll see usually on both sides in 80% of matches, and 5ish gods that youll see in 10% of matches in a 23 character roster, which lowers the real count of the roster significantly.
I'd maybe play if it wasnt the same game with updated graphics. Idk, might be an unpopular opinion but I wish they kept the smite gameplay we know but fuck around completely with maps and objectives.... Something completely new. New objectives, new lanes, new jungle new structures.. everything. It literally looks and feels like the old game that we've all been playing for YEARS now. I moved to heroes of the storm for that very reason. The moba might not be that good but god damnit do they have the best maps out there.
No gods, no new gods, no new abilities, no new game. Playing the same game but with nothing new and the 5500+ hours of work I put into Smite doesn't in any way transfer to Smite 2. Blah!
They have 20 right now 2 being new and are releasing 2 gods every 3 weeks what did you want them to have at a closed alpha? You gotta tempere your expectations they literally warned you saying it's going to be buggy and unfinished if your complaining about that that's on you "the hours of work you put in" it's not a job stop talking like you were forced to play for that long
@BuRstGuardian It's called not half assing your game and releasing it until it's a put together game. It's like they expected sunshine and dasies, but their getting a realty check because people don't want to wait 2 years to play their god that's not in the game. Whoever thought this was a good idea is already fired. Simple thinking.. You have a Smite 1 with maybe 5k-12k players. Release Smite 2 alpha splitting the player base and EXPECTING people to only play it, but in realty, people play Smite 2 for a few days and say, I'll come back once they add my characters. So they go back to Smite 1 like any normal person would do. NOW we get no new skins or updates. Now we don't play, and simply wait for Smite 2.
the only thing which would mske smite 2 appealing to me personally is if the bring siege back ong it was the best moba gamemode ever and im still heartbroken its gone
I do like smite 2 and one things that's better is actually getting games in Australian servers but man has Nu Wa kinda killed my enjoyment with the game because her ult needed to be reworked imo
I understand everyone's concern but doom talking the game while in early access alpha will hurt it as it sets a negative narrative, we should be as positive as possible cause we know the changes are coming, now come Jan 2025 if things aren't MUCH better then I'd be worried. they said every 3 weeks gods will be added what they really meant is that once a month you will get a major update, 3 weeks just sounds sweeter. i personally really enjoy smite 2 even in its barebones state but hey its an ALPHA and i think it has so much potential just wish everyone would be patient cause it will get better and i personally have no desire to touch smite 1 and don't understand anyone that does. everyone that is grinding smite 2 now will have an advantage skill wise against those that didn't when full release inevitably happens.
I think that probably the higher ups wanted to rush Smite 2 out before it was actually ready and now we are in this situation, for the channel maybe make Smite 1 videos and do Smite 2 only on patch day until it's good.
I was in your video of weak3n vs 6000+ hour player. So I've played a lot of smite 1, I uninstalled in smite 1 so I could grind Smite 2 and I got completely unmotivated. Now I have both games uninstalled and it's hard to see why I come back?
Honestly rn it's not even bad because of people being in a 5 stack for me it's that's there two many gods that are overpowered rn and you can only ban one god.
My issue right now is 1: it’s an alpha, so like on a base level I just don’t really care about it like I would if it were 1.0. 2: idk what it is but smite 2 runs like dog poo on my computer. Smite 1 runs great, every other game I play runs great, but smite 2 I have constant rubber banding and chugging and it gets so irritating. 3. The god pool is too low. I’m sick of the same matchups every game it just gets boring so I go over to smite 1 and have way more fun.
I think truthfully Deadlock will just go straight for the throat of Smite entirely. There is just too much bad decisions that have already been made that have lead to a severe wide open wound in Smite's market space for Deadlock to just snatch and snuffle out entirely since there is no way hi-rez will be able to compete with deadlock; they are already losing so hard. Ironically like they're getting snowballed and stomped in a moba match. It might retain a few amount to which are/were already playing the game but there is no future if there is going to be no new players coming in, because Deadlock is just going to steal them since it's just a far more unique, interesting and arguably more fleshed out take on the genre and smite is just on a stagnant auto-pilot until they actually get 2 out the door but will just dry up Hi-Rez since they are just not in a good spot at all and have to put all their eggs into a failing basket; whilst Valve owns steam and could sustain having deadlock be a complete and utter flop (which evidently already isn't the case) since it would be a meaningless rounding error to them.
Mismanagement is all it is. Smite was doing well, and they took their profit and wasted it in games that died. Rogue company, Paladins etc, chasing trends. The game started to fall off because it wasn't growing and the company became financially unstable. They came out and all a sudden they were like we need Smite 2. Smite 2 is being rushed out so they dont go bankrupt. If they stuck to their guns and began working on this project in advance they would have been fine but they waited til the company was about to fall through to do what they should have done long time ago. Reinvest in their money maker!
They shoulda kept their mouth shut about smite 2 and left the pro league running for another year.
It could have all been avoided if they pushed smite 2 back for another year
Agreed
Money good. No money bad
So real.
I've been saying this since the first closed alpha. The public should never touched this game until 2025
Time is not the problem. The game is a remaster of a game that was already losing support.
I think they are gonna sell kill effects.
@@thaddeusmarcuscheeleyjr.786 This would make a ton of sense actually

They said the point of moving to UE5 was for easier and more frequent updates, but I feel like it’s even less frequent than before
My biggest issue with smite 2 is that it just feels super sluggish, like how does smite 1 on ue 3 feel 1000 times better than smite 2 on ue5

Smite 2 has been more stressful I’ll agree
Smite 2 is wack. The majority of players are just sweaties prepping for ranked. The game feel stale.

If you can counter any build and it's no real meta then that's how it should be
If you needed to copy a RUclips a build to be good at the game that's why your losing now because you can counter everything 😉

Ranked should have not been a focus until the game is fully out
Catering to ranked and the elite does nothing to draw new names in - regardless of what will be said in any video from a clanner.
The fact they charged $30 and only allowed people to play for 48 hours every few weekends initially killed any hype for this game. They ripped a lot of loyal fans off, and I can't see myself coming back with other options like Deadlock that won't charge me $40 to test a buggy mess or restrict my access to the "alpha" product I paid to support.
you will be back, yall just panicking right now i have seen this happen in so many other games.
Eh I got into the alpha by signing up for it a year ago.
I’m cool with the 30 dollars because it doubled legacy gems. I see everything else as a little extra
Interesting, my personal experience with the Elite queue was ‘average high diamond / low masters queue in Smite 1 but I’m waiting 10-15 min for it’. So the matchmaking wasn’t as bad as in a regular ranked queue. But I do agree with the majority of other points, and the general feeling of not wanting to play the game is also there
We have roughly 13 weeks from now until the end of January that’s 5 patches on a 3 week schedule we’re cooked.
I totally agree. How easy would it have been to put hype marketing behind Smite's "Final Year"? They completely whiffed
Every match I play feels like I'm being punished for not playing the meta god with the meta build.
Skill issue. With no mm I haven't played against a single person with a brain yet
@@manleyfgc7981 fair enough.
Yep you're definitely correct. To make a long video short basically Smite 2 was rushes about a year too early
Smaller patches weekly and showing constant change and progress would go a long way
Even for us arena players games usually go 40-3 either way
I’m here because I’ve been playing Deadlock & I’m a League player from the start.
That's not how games work when placed under the 'alpha' tag. I've had devs clarify that they are not limited or time restricted due to console
Deadlock gets a Decent sized patch every two weeks. Keeps things dynamic and interesting to see how the meta shifts.
They should have waited another year of development to put out smite 2
20:44 Especially in tech, you're either advancing or falling behind. Doing the same thing is falling behind
I swear, I had an instance where my 3rd auto in Athena’s hit chain just did not connect or do dmg
I just quit playing smite all together. Was thinking of coming back. But this was honest, thank you for saving my time ❤
I still play smite 1. There are lots of problems with smite 2 but the single biggest issue is that my AA are not firing sometimes while I hold the button down. I have to release and repress the button in order for my AA to fire. I play on PS5
I 100% agree, i mostly solo q and only play ranked. Makes sense now
Smite 2 should’ve been announced but it should’ve been delayed for another year when it had sufficient content compared to Smite 1.

YOUR ON MY PAGE NOW!
The viewer thing is so true. I came back to smite 1 after 10 years because I watched some of your elo hell videos.
At this pace I really wish ported gods got the love Yimr got. Very few gods like Bacchus, Wukong, Tsuku, ect.. are S2 ready no real tweaks needed
But gods like Ama, He bo, Olo, ect… could’ve really used some TLC to spice them up
However I really don’t mind I don’t alpha test for free and have plenty of other games to play in the meantime and I’ll check out S2 when it’s more ready
I have 7k matches in S1 so I know all about the history, bugs, E-sport, ect…
For Arena, I like it more, the matchmaking not existing makes games one sided and I'm not a huge fan of the bushes/grass but I do prefer it over Smite 1 and the kill streak buff (forget the name) and the gifts also I prefer be removed but it isn't a big preference for me.
Watching smite 2 is just clunky and overwhelming I can't do it
If they actually opened up the game to everyone instead of keeping it behind their founders pack sooner I know for a fact that queues would be more diverse. I played Smite for 9 years and signed up for a Smite 2 code as soon as I could, and I still didn't receive one. Idk how they made their alpha code selections but it definitely wasn't based on loyalty, money spent or play time.
8:21 wouldn’t nearly all of the smite 2 players base also be playing smite 1 so its not just 7k + 2.5k?
All they need to do is add the "improved matchmaking". Its not my fault im always on a 1K SR team but the enemy team has several 2-3KSR players.
They should of kept the one weekend a month test thing going for a couple more months
I want arachne back so bad miss playing as arachne I know I can play smite 1 again but I'm really enjoying smite 2 graphical changes
I look at Smite 2 very briefly. Haven't played the game. I feel like I'll come back next year to see if it gets good.
I agree with everything you are saying bro... Smite 2 made me love smite 1 even more. Plus I'm a huge Mulan fan!!!
Like it just feels bad when I'm sitting in shop trying to figure out where and what item I want and I can't even look properly
personally when i wanna have fun i play smite 1 as well. when i play smite 2 if i make a mistake and get behind even 1 level i just don't get to play the game anymore and doesn't help with how open the map feels amd easy to be invaded/get invaded.
in smite 1 if I get even 1 level behind i can still make a comeback by playing well. ive even made comebacks from 3 levels behind just cause i outplayed better. it feels so much harder to do in smite 2. if 1 person gets behind in 2 it always seems to affect whole team as well. in smite 2 1 person behind allows enemy to free farm and steal all of our teams farm and snowball to win.
even if you ward in smite 2 you almost cant stop invasions. cause how big map is.
I like the items in smite 2 more. It’s like the thing they played with in the past but got rid of because of the limited nature of the balancing
The state of Smite 2 has me playing Deadlock full time now
the only thing which would mske smite 2 appealing to me personally is if the bring siege back ong it was the best moba gamemode ever and im still heartbroken its gone
Been playing some predecessor been liking it for the most part.
For fixing matchmaking we need more player the question is how get more player ?
I had fun on smite 2 the first couple weeks. But then the bad ranked matchmaking along with the small god pool killed it for my friends and I.
Now I have both games uninstalled and it's hard to see why I come back?
and this video coming out right after Stew's tweet is peak timing
Honestly rn it's not even bad because of people being in a 5 stack for me it's that's there two many gods that are overpowered rn and you can only ban one god.
the pts for an alpha also doesn't make sense for me. I think league also has like weekly patches, idk why hi rez is doing that.
My issue right now is
1: it’s an alpha, so like on a base level I just don’t really care about it like I would if it were 1.0.
I have played Smite for 10 years and still do every day. 10k+ hours. I doubt I’ll ever be playing Smite 2.
