- This video demonstrates how to conduct and interpret a Brown-Forsythe test in SPSS. The Brown-Forsythe test is used when the homogeneity of variance assumption for One-Way ANOVA is violated (statistically significant Levene’s test). The Welch test is also reviewed.
Thank you for this!
Dr. Grande, how would you explain the lack of significance in the post-hoc testing? Is it a question of power (meaning N is too low)? If so, could you show us how to calculate the sample size needed to make definite conclusions (i.e. a power analysis) based on these results? That would be really helpful. Thank your for this amazing series!
A very helpful, and well-explained video. Thank you very much!
You are welcome - thank you for watching -
Dr. Grande, can you run ANCOVA using Welch or Brown-Forsythe test in SPSS? Homogeneity of variance is violated but I still wish to control participant's demographic variables such as age and gender.
Hi if you do this test and Welch and Brown-Forsythe come up as blank (this is only one comparison I am doing the others have results). What does that mean?
