Truck stop load board, basic level has a 1 minute delay, switch to pro level an you get to see loads immediately instead of one minute delay. Hope this helps Alex.

@@alvinmann7675 Thanks! Usually it’s not this bad but going out west is always a risk. West coast is always slow for loads. You have to go there with a good paying load because chances of being stuck are very high. New MC shouldn’t be bad. Big companies will work with you. I did ok when I first started. Better than expected. On my 34 hour reset I always unhook. Go to the gym, eat, stores. You’ll go crazy if you spend your time at the truck stop.

Alex-here is another suggetion . Why not get in touch w/ the big rental companies-like Sunbelt/United rentals about moving some of their stuff? They are always transferring stuff from one location to another-especiaaly when they have big plant shutdowns/downtime. Might take some phone work, but still-might fill in ur gaps. Be safe!

When I was doing hotshot it was really hard to find anything heading out of those states. Even when I pulled flatbed in semis the only thing you could get out of there was lumber loads :( That whole area... OR WA MT WY ID UT CO is good rates going and nothing coming back.
I haven’t been to there yet but I pull reefer out of California and the same thing happens to me the moment the loads post their gone I was told dispatchers that have an office with that fiber wire crap its so fast that they see the load up to a few mins before we do per using our phones or laptops at truck stops ect…
Hi Alex. That really sucks having to run empty. As you know its also hard to get anything out of Florida too when you leave home. Is it possible to put some sort of surcharge on shipments going to bad areas to cover yourself?
@@richardbarkley9909 unfortunately you can’t put a surcharge. It’s hard to get a decent rate from the broker as it is from certain areas. I went to an Utah with a good rate but not good enough to leave empty and lose half a week. Oh well. There will always be bad weeks. Can’t always have good ones.
I run alot to cali and always get out of there. A few times i ran south to north and back south. for 2 weeks!. I take a big payer and plan on spending time out there until something good comes out.

Hey brother Alex!! That opening drone footage was amazing. You might need a lapel mic for when you’re driving. The voice was kinda low in those scenes. That was a great suggestion about the rental companies. I know you’re all over, but maybe calling ahead of time to let them know you’re in the area in an allotted amount of time could pay dividends if a good paying load takes you that way again. Thanks for the food ideas as well. I’m always looking for something new to try! That truck stop food just doesn’t pan out most times. Stay safe bro! Enjoyed this one. I might upgrade the GoPro for a DJI that supports wireless mic. I do know the volume isn’t the best on GoPro especially while driving for some reason. @@jasonrios5769 Watch a lot of videos on load securement. Get hands on if you can too. Learn to drive with a trailer before getting out in the work field and keep your overhead cost low.

@@Reezys-f2q Very tough to stay local especially out of Phoenix. West coast is just a slow area from my experience. To me, dispatch is a must.
