I appreciate how much Patrick seems so logical and Robin's stubborn- ness is such a powerful defense against her emotional issues. I loved everything about this scene.
So sad for Robin and how scared she is. You can see how much she wants the family life with Patrick. Patrick's fear of fatherhood broke them apart. Robin's fear of implicitly trusting someone is not allowing her to let her guard down.
The thing is it's not just what she's experienced before him but also what he put her through. She's in full blown protection mode here. They broke up because he didn't want a baby. He immediately starts sleeping with a nurse he had been flirting with in her face. After re-watching that time period I'm amazed she got back with him at all. I'm glad she did...LOVE THEM...but still amazed that it happened.
i sooooooo feel for patrick!! all i would want is to be with her and the unborn baby. it's all so adorable and exciting, if scary and life-changing. robin is just SO scarred from her life experience. it's not her fault. kimberly mccullough is so believable in this role!
If I could talk to Robin, I would say, "None of us knows how the future is going too, but pushing people that you love out of your life, you are going to be alone for the rest of your lives." And I would also say, "SHUT UP, BELIEVE IN LOVE."

This would be a great flashback to Robin's current s/l of staying away from her child and husband to protect them, and also to understanding Robin's prolonged absence in her life.
+tsefcik I know right ... not too mention in these scenes whenever Patrick mentions Sam it infuriates me cause on he is so crazy in love with Sam even though he knows she loves Jason. I hate all Sam and Patrick scenes. I hope when they bring Robin back Emma and Patrick both understand how much she loves them in order to protect them the way she has . The GH writers have really screwed up when it comes to these two ... they have one last chance to get it right i hope they do ... cause they do deserve a good end to their story .
I get so sick of Robin saying over and over "I was the one who wanted the child and you didn't"! I get she is scared, but enough. People change their minds all the time. And just because she wanted the baby and he didn't doesn't make her a better parent and it doesn't give her the right to determine what kind of dad Patrick is going to be. Don't get me wrong I love Robin and love Scrubs, but her attitude during the pregnancy storyline drove me crazy, but was also probably what kept me watching the first time around. Now I watch more to see the transition and gradual coming around of Patrick and the caring he always has in his eyes.
Robin can be a real pain in the - you know. She’s being extremely rigid about this, so very all or nothing, and resolutely refusing to acknowledge that anyone could ever change. Also, I’m sure this was more compelling when it was interspersed with other storylines on the show at the time, but when isolated in a playlist of scenes, their relationship is so one-note. They have literally had the same conversation more than forty times - seriously, forty and counting. Sheesh. Also, on an unrelated note - Maxie is crazy thin in these episodes. I didn’t watch GH during this time and didn’t know she used to be so extremely petite.
but for good reason, i like that she actually did that because Patrick flirted with that nurse I forgot her name while they were still together brought her back to his place called Robin insecure told Robin over and over again that he didn’t want to be a father, and he didn’t want to be settled down with the kid so now she just supposed to believe him when he did everything in his power to make her believe that she wasn’t enough for him that he didn’t want what she wanted and she Robin does not want to be an obligation
I've watched these scenes many times, which is true about how rigid Robin was. But it's interesting when she was talking about how Patrick felt when his family fell apart, then she talks about how she felt when she thought her parents were dead and how she was not going to do that to her child and she did not fake her death, but Jerry did. And she talks about death, addiction or abandonment. They really covered the gamit here, b/c it all happened anyway
U knw... Notice one thing.... Robin said that she cant count on patrick.... to raise the baby... But in future contrary to this.... It would be Patrick who would be constant in Emma's life....Watever reasons are .... But the truth is Robin was alwzz misssing from Emma's life due to many reason.... (Robin's fake death , Robin's PPSD problm.... Robin's goes away to save jason...... {But u knw as we all knw that this is due to Kim's exit from the GH that writers have to lead story to this way...}) ... But U knw.. Its prove Patrick point... He will be great at fatherhood.... Robin shouldnt do this to him...
I did NOT like Robin throughout this storyline for two main reasons. First, Robin is always telling Patrick how he feels and what he thinks. Second, when Robin said "You can't miss what you never had" as a reason to keep Patrick out of the baby's life. I realize Robin wanted to have a baby and Patrick didn't but he does NOW. When the baby was hypothetical he was scared but as soon as he found out the baby was his he started to want this and he deserves to be in the child's life whether Robin wants it or not. And, speaking as a girl who grew up without a father, you CAN miss something you never had. A little girl needs her daddy to tuck her in at night and hold her when she cries. A father is a man that loves his daughter first which means he is a clear example of what a man is so if a father treats her like she doesn't matter she's going to feel like she doesn't. As a child, I thought if my own father could leave then why would anyone else ever love me and although I don't let those feelings of sadness control me anymore I can tell you it still hurts. I couldn't believe Robin would ever want her daughter to feel the way I did.
Those excellent writers GH had during this time I’ll say again really did fuck up these characters i mean They wrote Robin be very annoying to Patrick at this time, I mean how many times did she repeat the same lines over n over ugh.............
this storyline is getting stupid. Did the writers not know how to move on? Why did they make us sit through the same conversation over and over and over and over? If I were Patrick I'd just say fuck it and leave. Robin is ridiculously annoying
