    Hey Archie! This was a fun video and really showcased the splitter 400 set up well! Thanks for having us over for the splitting session! Really enjoying your content! Keep up the awesome work 🔥💯👍. Cheers! Andrew from NB, Canada :)

    Keep recording the videos. It’s real informative of how a day really is on the work involved to produce logs when we are serious about the product we sell. It’s hard work 😢. Great set up 👍
    Build yourself a hopper for the end of the cleaner. It will work well with 3 high sides or an extra chute . 👍

    Very fast. Is the conveyor speed adjustable? That would likely help reduce your launch factor. 😆

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  Год назад +1

      Yes you can slow it down but then you have a load of weight on the belt and can slip

  • @WoodchuckCanuck
    @WoodchuckCanuck Год назад +1

    What if you slowed the conveyor speed? It will reduce the speed of the pieces launching off the top of the conveyor, might end up with more in the bag than on the floor. What is the max length it can split? You showed 3x3 pieces, what is the max size pieces?

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  Год назад +1

      I’ve not tried max diameter log but I know it pretty big. This is on about half setting and goes all the way down to kindling. You can do 33cm max lengths

      You need a diverter on the wood grate so you can fill one bag and set up the next bag…back and forth. Might need a wider grate…and a stand so the bag can hang without the fork lift waiting for bag to fill….just saying….😅

  • @waterboy5164

    Awesome video! Question Was that wood already dried out before being put through the processor it sounded dry?
    What do you do when you get large wood with lots of nots? Or do you only buy wood that is under a certain length in diameter?

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  Год назад

      It was green ash so around 30% moisture.
      If it really is one big knot then yes it won’t bust through it but it’s very good at getting through most things, regarding diameter if they are to big you can just split in half.

    Holy crap.. 4 mins per bag.. wow.. if they are the same as a cage, that's 5 facecords in under 45 mins... if they make one that can handle 16 inch (40.64 cm) wood I think I'm in !!! It's just remarkable how fast that is..

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  Год назад +1

      I call that type of splitter a side-puncher. It produces more scrap than an 8-way but no resplitting. Automatic. More expensive.
      Check out the Rabaud 520 processor with this type of splitter on it, very expensive. Sold by global land equipment in New York.

    Archie, I mistakenly thought you were going to replace your Transaw 350 with this new unit, until I noticed it didnt have a circular saw and a log in-feed.
    It looks better/faster than your current "Kindlet" machine.
    Were you also planning to replace your Transaw with a newer processor?
    You indicated your "cleaner" device would become obsolete. So are you saying it wont be needed for your Transaw any longer?
