Thanks Paul! Great job, much appreciated, God Bless, Keep on truckin! I build all my aircraft models in- flight with a flat pinewood plaque and 1/8 aluminum, curving rod as a display stand. Also happy to suspend them from an overhead surface with very fine fishing line! Lightnings turned out great! - KC

I built a series of four Monogram 1/48 Lightnings, and utilized your recommendation to use the CA and dental resin from an earlier video you did. Getting the nose doors to fit while making one removable on the “Night Lightning” presented a similar challenge. Great to see your channel return active again. Will look at your Patreon.

Great video. When I built my Tamiya P-38 I also went wheels up (as with most of my builds), I did it in a much more simpler way using styrene tabs to give the doors something to rest against whilst the glue set. Naturally your method, while a little more complex, has better results.

I liked your technique and I intend to use it in my kits. I also share the taste for airplanes in their most fluid form, in flight and not on the ground. This option could be offered more frequently by manufacturers. Greetings from Brazil!

Really great looking wheels up build, especially on P 38. How about your technique of attaching stands. New to your channel so I'll check Thanks for sharing.

I've built most of my aircraft kits as in flight. I really wish more companies would provide either a set of closed doors or engineer the parts to be more easily built gear up. Several kits provide both open and closed canopies parts. Shouldn't be that difficult to provide a set of closed gear doors to go with the open ones.

Tamiya seem allergic to displaying aircraft in flight. It is a shame that more manufacturers try to push you to have gear down instead of in flight displays. Aircraft in my opinion look better while in flight and only Zvezda and Revell seem to provide the options to do from the kits I have built. Many have started also not providing pilot figures too!
