    The singer is Joanne Hogg. What makes this special is that she also sang the ending credit songs for Xenogears on PS1 and Xenosaga 1 on the PS2. The Future Redeemed DLC in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was basically the culmination of the whole numbered trilogy, and connected it to the same universe as those old Xeno games. This song was the ultimate sendoff to the Xenoblade trilogy storyline, and you bet I cried during it and the finale like at least four times.

    I've never cried so much at a piece. Mitsuda not only brought back Joanne Hogg, he brought back the instrumentation that he has only ever used for her. It makes it so special. Ties the Xeno series off with a neat ribbon.

    For the ending song for the DLC that is capping the Xenoblade series, Mitsuda brought back Joanne Hogg, the vocalist from Xenogears and Xenosaga

    The Xenoblade trilogy's most consistant theme is about looking to what the future is or can be and how it can be shaped, so it's not exactly random that the word appears everywhere when you look at these games.

    I know others have already mentioned it but the singer is Joanne Hogg. You liked her work on Two small of pieces from Xenogears. They brought her back for the end credits for Xenosaga 1 and MUCH later for the wrap up of the current narritve for Xenoblade.

    • @icecreamorc
      @icecreamorc Год назад +7

      And yes even after nearly a quarter century, she sure can sing.
      When they did a trailer for this dlc and played a snippet of this song I broke down crying because I knew this song was going to hold immense emotional meaning to the entire Xeno-series.

    I was tearing up when I heard the song in the trailer for the DLC behind all of the characters speaking because I knew who was singing it.
    I couldn't believe he did it again! It means so much that Mitsuda got Joanne Hogg to do another ending theme again for the third Xeno series in a row after Xenogears and Xenosaga1, and perhaps for the last time ever.
    And the fact that it sounds so much like Small Two of Pieces and Kokoro in its entire instrumentation as well is like a one-two-punch to your emotions.
    25 years' worth of built up emotions encompassed in this angelic voice and instrumentation.
    I'd love to see you play any of the Xeno games in general, but Xenogears specifically is my favorite of all of them. There's something so special about these stories that I have yet to find anywhere else after all these years.

    The ending credits for Future Redeemed were excellent to experience after having played the entire series. The recap footage they give makes the lyrics hit so much better. Interesting that there is a "duet" that hits when the footage for Xenoblade 2 starts. I see...er...hear...what they did there...
    Even so long after I played this for the first time, it still gives tears.
    Looking forward to seeing where the franchise goes from here!
    (Also, yes, I do recommend giving Xenoblade a shot. Just make sure you have a good chunk of time. You can easily get lost in those games!)

    When I first heard this song and the moment they began to put that recolection of scenes from the games in the credits, I began to cry so hard, I absolutely loved the series and this credits meant so much, I was so sad but happy at the same time. This game helped me get through some of my hardest times, and now this was the ending of this trilogy, but there is going to be a new beguining. It's an abolutely amazing game and I want to see many people get into the series as it's so special to me. If you decide to play it and stream or record it, I think your reactions to the songs with the context of the game would be absolutely amazing.
    Thank you for sharing your reactions.

    The lyrics I felt was more written to us than about the characters. This is the last game in this "era" of xenoblade chronicles. The games also have a big theme of moving on with your life, but i feel this was written to tell us audience that. no, xenoblade isnt over just this era called the "klaus" era. which contains, XC1, XC2, XCX, XC3 plus dlc's.

    Xenoblade is a very forward-thinking and fiercely optimistic work of art. It emphasizes the importance of our choices in shaping our path, how lingering on the past can hinder/reverse our growth, and how clinging to the things we fear to lose can cause stagnation. Future Awaits is the culmination of these ideas. The lyrics are encouraging and compassionate, understanding the many difficulties that comes with life, and the song reassures us that when we stumble or fail, what matters most is that we have loved ones to pick us back up so we can keep going, and we should never stop.

    For the longest time I did not understand why context mattered to music. I thought the beeps and boops were good enough. I remember the first time I actually payed attention to a songs lyrics and it hit me that thats like a major part of the song haha. Visual and contextual context is kinda crazy and has its own story.

    I made the same connection between this song and "You raise me up" shortly after beating the game. There are actually a shocking number of similarities between the two, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if Mitsuda directly took inspiration from it. When it comes to the chorus, Future Awaits has a very similar melody and rhythm, its structure and chord progression is basically identical, *and* it utilizes word painting in a very similar (albeit not as literal) way. On that last point, the first four notes of each song's respective chorus put a focus on "you" and end on "up" (You raise me _up_ / Will you give _up_ ), with the "up" in question being the highest note of each melodic line!

    5:42 Welcome Home, KOS-MOS.
    Man this DLC was an emotional rollercoaster. It serves as both a sequel to XC1 and XC2, tied up loose ends from the main game, AND served up as the finale of the saga from a thread in Xenoblade Chronicles 1.
    And it touched upon stuff from Xenosaga, possibly connecting everything including KOS-MOS.
    Joanne Hogg tying all the three versions of the Xeno franchise is just a genius move by Mitsuda. Also this song brought him back in a Celtic mood, something that defined both Xenogears and Xenosafa.

    This Song has a Special place in my Heart now like you said the Metal Gear one for you. It’s the first time I actually cried for real… not only because of the song, but the visuals summing up all 3 games and this being the end of the trilogy. It really left me speechless a bit. I’m still listening to it often.

    As the comments say, the singer behind this is Joanne Hogg, the very same singer you heard in the Xenogears video who sang its credits theme too. But let me tell you, this song made me and a lot of other Xenoblade fans cry so much as this is a sendoff for the series' trilogy it's been telling for the past 13 years. Even hearing it again in this video made me tear up a little being reminded of it all.

    Others before me mentioned that this is a sendoff to the entire Xenoblade trilogy. However, this credits song ends with a cutscene. This cutscene is exactly why this DLC is named "Future Redeemed", everything is as it should be and loose ends are tied, but I will explain no farther to not spoil the story.
    However, there is a shooting star at the very end. It ties the trilogy to the old Xenosaga and Xenogears games, but also opens up the potential for a new story all together.

  • @MelokatOfficial
    @MelokatOfficial Год назад +5

    I'm glad you weren't paying too much attention to the video. The credits for future redeemed are a recap of EVERYTHING that's happened across all the games. Future Redeemed was the story to close out the current saga so the credits are essentially for the series as a whole up to this point. Amazing for us fans that played them all but definitely not for someone who hasn't played the games to see.

  • @corruptedteka

    All 3 numbered Xenoblade games are on Switch ! The "spin off", I call it that because it's not quite the same continuity as the numbered games, Xenoblade X, is not. Unfortunately for that one you'll have to wait for an eventual port.
    I definitely think you should play them, even if you don't do it on stream. The 3 numbered games are all pretty different in vibe and execution to each other, so if you have expectations after playing one, get rid of them ! The next game will not be the same !

    The most interesting thing about this song is that it isn't related to the game story. The big thing in vocal songs in xenoblade series is that the game director is the author of the lyrics and in this song he pretty much recalls his really hard path from xenogears to xenoblade 3. That's the reason Mitsuda got Joanne Hogg to sing it and why it got iconic xenogears flute sound in it.
