Remember kids, even if you're sociopathic, it always easier to go through a messy divorce than it is to spend the rest of your life in prison for murdering your spouse 👍
I'm guessing a sociopath can recognize that, but a narcissist - a *real* narcissist, in the true meaning of the word and the diagnosis - wouldn't like that tarnished _(in their own mind)_ look on their "record" and the risk of being painted as the bad/wrong one in court or among their family/friends/peers - even though they probably are - or the risk of missing out on money/possessions/property that they *feel* that they are entitled to, although they most certainly ain't. And this person does seem like a *true* narcissist. *EDIT:* Some words. I have a _(bad)_ habit of posting things before I've proof read them, and some parts just came out plain wrong the first time I wrote it. I didn't change much at all, just added a few words and deleted some. I hope what I wrote makes sense.
@@CraigStCyrPlus good point. He was wealthy enough that probably he would have been able to get it tested. Prob $10,000 or more, but worth the price for peace of mind that your spouse isnt actively trying to poison you.

Your reading her bizarre description of the plot of her “like, 70 page book” … followed by your extremely accurate, concise summary of the plot … was GOLDEN. @21:00
Incredible. What a hilarious showing from Kouri. She claimed she was writing a book, and all the defense had to say was, "Okay, so show us the book," and it immediately fell apart.
As someone who has a BA in English Literature with a focus in Creative Writing, it *kills* me to hear her describe a 60pg book as "a really long book". It's also mind-blowing to me that she hired a ghost-writer to write a children's book supposedly based off her own experience! This woman is the definition of the Dunning-Kruger effect. She clearly thinks that she's a genius who can get out of any situation even though she's failed at that and she keeps putting herself in these situations even from behind bars! It's exhausting to know just how many people like her exist these days. I'm starting to think we need to bring back shame since she is so unbothered by all of this.
As someone with a BA in EngLit, with an emphasis on creative writing, writing a sentence like " She clearly thinks she's a genius who can get out of any situation even though she's failed at that and she keeps putting herself in these situations even from behind bars." What, no punctuation? Had a job getting through that with one breath..... Sorry, I'm only messin'.
How rotten her soul is. Just like so many others: Jodi A., Casey A., Chris, W., Scott P., Lori V., Chat D. etc. the list on and on. How can they pretend they are kind, balanced and have no criminal energy for so long, until they kill, and get caught. So scary... I hope she gets locked up forever. Danger to society.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that she NEVER admits to any wrongdoing. She never has and never will. I'm gonna play therapist for a moment and assume, at the very least, that she's a sociopathic narcissist or a narcissistic sociopath or both. I don't even know if there's a difference, but... Oh my God! The reading of the letter in her "voice" was hilarious! 😂
It doesn’t matter which order you put those diagnosis’- it’s the same thing and there’s a major difference. She’s a malignant narcissist. Meaning she’s very high on the spectrum and has zero empathy, this is more capable of horrible deeds. Richard Ramirez and more recently… Adam Montgomery, now THEY are/were sociopaths. They do ANYTHING they want and have no fear or shame slowing them down. Kori is humiliated and feels insecure when sitting in court because she knows she’s been exposed and the camera is pointing straight at her. Richard Ramirez? He SMILED at the camera. He had no shame whatsoever. No fear of the consequences. He just totlaly owned it like he was proud of what he did. That’s not Kori. They’re shameful and have a lot of anaxiety out of fear of 1) being exposed and 2) they are paranoid that others are out to get them because they assume everyone is like they are.
Ha ha . Well, from actual professionals , I've heard All sociopaths/psychopaths (layman's term not used in psychology) are Narcissists but not all Narcissists are socio/psychopaths. Psychopathy is Antisocial Personality Disorder and all Cluster B personality disorders have narcissistic traits, yes, even BPD.
It honestly seems like her mom is in on it after seeing this. The fact that she felt she could even be this open about her devious schemes with her mom speaks volumes.
Her attitude is not intentionally similar to how Sarah Boone not intentionally told the police that she is not intentionally great at everything not intentionally.
I guarantee you this woman sits in court saying to herself, “there has just got to be a way out of this I just have to figure it out, I can’t spend the rest of my life in prison, I just can’t”. This woman has no idea how drugs work. Nobody has "fentanyl gummies" that's not a thing, it's either pills or bags (powder). It's so obvious she's guilty now too this is all awareness of guilt and proves she did it. Only an out of touch narcissist would say something like this.. Edit: ik there's other forms of fentanyl but 99.99% of addicts are buying bags or pills, def not gummies..
She probably did a bit of research and found out about Fentanyl patches and "pops" exist. For the "pops" they add sugar and raspberry flavour to the drug, shape in into a lozenge and put in on a short stick so you can dissolve it in your mouth on the tongue and cheeks. With that knowledge she though you could make it into a gummy and it would sound legit.
I agree, but there were (I don't know about now but 15 years ago) there were fentanyl lollipops. They were medical, used for kids or adults who couldn't swallow pills. I'm a chronic pain patient. But you are so right!!

“A little learning is a dangerous thing.” She has enough knowledge to fool some people (the media, her lawyer, her deceased husband), but not enough to fool the court. Her narcissism causes her to over-estimate her abilities and underestimate everyone else's. She's so delusional that she really thinks her plan will work.
I really appreciate the clear and concise way you folks present these cases. The narration/presentation is always factual and well though out, coming across really professionally. Awesome job.
I lost my husband in a very similar situation, which is hard enough. I can't imagine if the police got involved like they did with her. That's just crazy. Had the police not been involved there would be no witness tampering so is that entrapment? Anyway, I pray for her.

When I first heard this letter I thought: yeah, right - your lawyer would be willing to risk her career to ensure her client has white teeth. 🙄 Turns out she did! And she has admitted to carrying out additional contraband (the “novel”) as well. What is that lawyer thinking?? She could be in trouble with her law firm or the state bar. At the very least, she is going to be searched for contraband every time she enters or leaves a prison for a long time to come. Stupid!
I hope Skye and the defense team get sanctions for their part in hauling stuff in and out. And the deputies should learn a lesson as well - don't trust defense attorneys to abide by the law - verify. Your research and storytelling are always impeccable, but my favorite part of your videos is when you uncontrollably start laughing at something ridiculous that happens.

I think the thing that gets most narcissistic criminals caught is they they underestimate how smart other people are. Some of these things they try to get away with are insane.
What really gets me is the amount of details in the plane story. Notice something with what I just said? If you’re familiar with this case, you’ll know that “plane story” refers to the story she’s trying to tell about her husband sneaking drugs on her so he could get them through the airport security and that he laughed it off when she told him off for it. The thing is, she goes into great detail about this story, asking her nieces and relatives to “remember” the time that happened. But if this story was true AT ALL, she wouldn’t need to explain the story to them. The letter would simply say, “make sure to remind them about the plane story,” and that’d be it. If I’m talking to my mom about something and say, “remember the door thing with gram?” She’d instantly remember the hours worth of conversations we had about it and know exactly what I was talking about. But you, random commenter, wouldn’t know the gram door story because we never told you about it. So, it’d be suspicious if I talked like this woman and said, “remember these hyper specific details about this one story, where X, U, and Z happened and then it wrapped up this way?” There’s no way this plane story is real. Edit: Oh shit! Glad Dreading caught that too! Edit again: I... It's a story now? Like, she's trying to use her "book" about her husband to cover her ass because of this incriminating letter, which references her own private detective, by saying it's all make believe, it's all for fun. Yeah, right. They need to find that detective and see just how much of a "story" this is.

Craig, that woman is orange. Calm down.
Omg, the amount of immaturity is unbelievable...
That reading of the letter was perfection 👌 😂
That “It was a book I’m writing” story is insane!!! Listening to you read the Walk The Dog piece, the phone call about writing the book, and other things she’s said, I find it impossible to believe the woman can write anything beyond a grocery list. She can’t say 4 words without 2 of them being “like”. Wether it’s speaking or writing, the woman has a very difficult time stringing two cohesive thoughts together. Mostly, she’s just a bad liar and a murderer.
DAMN! This comment would have been so satisfyingly agreeable had it not been for the word "whether" being misspelled. 😭
I just watched Basic Instinct yesterday, and this reminds me of the whole, "Why would I write a book and then act out the crime u wrote about? I'm not that stupid" sort of defense. 😂
Don't be petty.@@touchmoney817
Remember kids, even if you're sociopathic, it always easier to go through a messy divorce than it is to spend the rest of your life in prison for murdering your spouse 👍
Why didn't the Mormon husband just save the sandwich. Thats what kills me.
But it’s all about money!
The thing with this type is that their ego makes them underestimate, in this case, the prosecution's intelligence. She's so used to getting away with anything in life that this shouldn't be any different.
Why isn’t her attorney being held accountable for smuggling contraband and letters in and out of the prison?
Check out the attorney, smokin

Incredible. What a hilarious showing from Kouri. She claimed she was writing a book, and all the defense had to say was, "Okay, so show us the book," and it immediately fell apart.
They were written on golden plates in a top hat

I think the lawyer has some splainin' to do herself as it's clear she was smuggling non-privileged materials out of jail.
@grayaj23 I can understand the whitening strips, but her smuggling the letters is super unethical and scummy.
I agree100%. This does not help her attorney and, in fact, makes you wonder just how far she will go with her clients.
Does anyone know what the court decided? For the state or the defense?
@@MirandaSinistra She did what? Yikes. I know there was a request by Kouri, but I didn't know her lawyer actually obliged.
Either that or come up with a narcissism vaccine, lol.

That sentence was a bit long, but grammatically correct.
I don’t have a BA in English and even I am bothered by how stupid she is. I like to actually read books by people who know what they are doing….. lol
The way you narrated her claims that the letter was just a self-insert fanfic was SO funny. How on earth would she think that sounded legit??

She mentions in the letter, helping her mum with a mortgage. The mum is in on it.

Stupid!
The fact that she is now claiming that confession to her brother by saying it’s a “new book” she’s writing……I just can’t.

I think the thing that gets most narcissistic criminals caught is they they underestimate how smart other people are. Some of these things they try to get away with are insane.
That’s the thing about narcissists they think they are smarter and better than everyone else on the planet
They also overplay their hand to compete and self-destruct.
Have a bunch at work. They are exhausting to deal with.
It's more that they overestimate how smart they themselves are.
Yep, very true! There are *so* many family memories that I only need to say one or two key words and everyone else knows what I'm talking about.
Are we supposed to laugh now - due to your little word game?
