  • Recently, we had some unexpected damage in our home that caused us to make some unplanned repairs and updates.
It was a lot of work, but we love the outcome. We are so thankful for family members who sacrificed their time to help us. While we were repairing the damage, we did a few more things that we had considered before and now was the perfect time to do them.
Home repairs usually take longer than you think, isn't that the case? We still have things to finish up and a few more projects we are working on too, so stay tuned to see it all come together.
Have you ever had a dishwasher leak? Please share your dishwasher leak repair suggestions and also dishwasher recommendations too.

***There are 20 seconds where there is no sound in the video, 17:20-17:40. I apologize for that! It was fine during editing, but for some reason there must have been a glitch while rendering the video. I didn't realize it until this video was already uploaded, so I didn't want to delete it and re-upload it. Here's what I was saying in the video: "We found the leak about a month ago and we still have some things left to do, finish the baseboards, the ceiling, and we're going to do a few things in the kitchen as well. We're not going to get into that in this video because it will make this video too long, but I'm really excited about that."****

We currently have dark floors and I feel your pain on them showing everything 😭 will def need to replace them soon as well. Love the new floors and home changes!

Yes! I had no idea they would be so much work to maintain. I had to mop them every single day and they would look so dirty within a few hours the next morning. So much easier to keep clean now.

Beautiful floors! My husband is an appliance tech and he says it's almost never worth it to fix a dishwasher. Once it starts giving up it will continue to keep breaking. I've bought a used kitchen aid dishwasher that still works great and it was 12 yrs old but right now nothing is build to last, we recently moved and remodeled so I got a Samsung dishwasher that is do quiet u can't hear it's on🤣 and it costs 1200 and I still miss the old kitchen aid one, it was louder but washed way better, I never had to rinse food off

Thanks so much for the input. From what I've read and heard from many others, it seems that appliances don't last very long at all. We already paid for the repairman to come out just to see what the problem was and would have to pay for the repair and the parts, then it may not last that long before something else breaks. We always prefer to fix something if possible instead of buying a new thing, but in this case, it doesn't seem like a good idea. We'll see. This is actually our 3rd dishwasher since moving into this house 8 years ago. We had 2 used appliances before and they didn't last long at all.

@@OlgasFlavorFactory so I just asked my husband what would be the most durable dishwasher and he said kitchen aid hands down. He said Bosch is good but tends to fail and once it fails u can't get it fixed. And I can confirm that the kitchen aid dishwashers last because like i said I got mine used off offer up used it for over 5 years and it was still going strong. It was white and we switched to stainless steel. Also anther tip is if you want appliances that last is to get the most basic things without extra electronic gimmicks, the more options or fancy it gets the easier and more expensive it is to break and fix. Just keep that in mind. I've had and used most brands of any appliances and I can tell u that the simplest and the older they are the longer they will last

Nice color choice for the new floors. I would definitely get a new dishwasher , I have Bosch. Specialy since you have spent the money to replace the floors. Will be repainting the walls?

You guys are so lucky to have it all done in one month, we had the same thing done but it was a whole hot water pipe that burst causing over $100,000 of damage it happened last summer in July and just now in June 2022 we got insurance to cover as they should have to start with. Contractors just started this month still have a few more months to go.

Wow, one thing leads to another, but it sure turned out beautiful! We had a similar thing happen with the dishwasher. I was in the basement and heard water dripping on some styrofoam, and it turned out the hose inside the dishwasher had come loose and like you, the damage wasn’t in front of the dishwasher itself, but in front of our sink. The floor buckled a little, but thankfully we didn’t need to replace anything! And our repairman said in his 27 years of repairing appliances, that was the first time he had ever seen that happen. Lucky us, lol!!

The best dishwashers are made by Bosch. No dishwasher comes close to the durability.

@@floridahomeandgardeningwit5457 That's unbelievable! Delivery times are so delayed now, it's terrible. Everything we've been ordering lately we make sure it will be delivered within a few weeks, otherwise, it's not worth it. Everything is taking such a long time, then the delivery keeps getting delayed several times. I hope your dishwasher comes in soon.

I suggest replacing the dishwasher on e it's fixed it will never be the same and susceptible to break again. Stay away from anything made by Samsung all garbage I originally bought all Samsung appliances for my home 6 years ago and one by one I've had to replace them all. Bosch is literally the best.

It makes me nervous to use any dishwasher again:). We will get a water leak sensor no matter what, so we can be aware of a leak immediately if it ever happens again.
