I have the old shape Niro and I like it a lot. Took this model out for a test drive and ordered one straight away. I would agree with everything in your review
Averaging 45mpg... Really!! Is that the best that 2022 can do? Why not spend £2,000 or £3,000 on any petrol car that can do 35 to 40mpg and keep the £30,000 in your bank. Petrol & Electric... Let's see the bill when it goes wrong!
The warranty is riddled with ‘ware and tear’ clauses. Sounds good but I have run in’s with Kia dealerships about not repairing stuff under warranty. There is no customer ombudsman at Kia that I know of
Because everyone can’t buy used cars. We’ve already seen the used market rocket as the chips shortage impacted new car sales. Your methodology doesn’t work for the masses.
Can i just say that touch screen buttons are never meant to work in the car. Its too fiddly and dangerous, especially while driving. Everyone knows fiddling with your touch screen smartphone whilst driving is dangerous and banned. So how come it is allowed for cars to have more of those?
In 3 years of ownership, the B trip on my car is showing 40.3 mpg. That’s the average for the 3 years. On open roads I get around 42-44mpg It’s a 2.5l petrol, auto gearbox, AWD, large estate car fitted with all terrain tyres with 9” of ground clearance, so not a sleek, aerodynamic car. I would be extremely dissatisfied with a 45mpg hybrid.
Got nowt to brag about had it economy wise.. my 2010 civic 1.8 petrol with 130k always returns 40 mpg and my rather abused 2012 1.6 hdi berlingo van easily does 60mpg down the motorway.
Mercedes C300 diesel almost 68 mpg on long journeys, more comfort, quiet, precise power. with trade in £32000 - Why not encourage engine manufacturers to research ways to eliminate particulates and capture CO2 from diesel.
Good luck achieving that with the new diesel engines. The emission regulations on diesel is now getting more strict, forcing manufacturers to add emission controls like adblue, dpf and what nots which will effect the performance of the diesel engines. It's not all manufacturers fault, infact manufacturers would have been happier to continue develop and deliver diesel powered cars had it not been for these regulations. Now that lots of major countries especially Europe are trying to phase out ICE, of course diesel to be the first on the list - there's no point for manufacturers to put their RnDs on diesel. So live with it. You can boast all you want about the highway mpgs of the old diesel cars, but diesel cars are already dead.
Lol why spend 30k buying new car go buy Toyota Prius from 2004 to 2008. Best shape ever overage you get 50mpg and you not paying 30k you be looking at couple of grand and that car strong full tank I get 500 plus miles never ever given me any issues
Hybrids are actually not that great. As other have pointed out, cars like my 2015 1.6L Diesel (Golf) can easily do 55-60 mpg. Go electric if you want to do your bit

Ordered mine in 4 spec and that green (but not the black C pillar) last month. Told probably get it Q2 next year
My old diesel Mercedes does 60mpg, now that’s impressive
In 20-30 mph roads? Urban driving? City driving or MOTORWAYS mainly? 😂
30k on a kia that's crazy money you can get a nice 520d for that would do more mpg
I think it looks to be quite underrated car
I can average over 60mpg in my Suzuki Baleno 1.0, it does not need a hybrid to achieve it.

Spot on but they have a great warranty to be honest still won't buy

@@rikkiseddo Simple then.... DON'T SELL YOUR CAR.. wait!
No "need" to change your car for anything. Keep what you have.
Love tis car :) nice review! Just one thing... the shift paddles in Eco-mode are for recuperation ;) Just in Sport-mode they're for shifting.
Thank you and wow, they can change purpose like that? That must be confusing.

This new Niro looks better than the old car, which I thought looked a bit too normal to be honest 😅

Those rear airflow slats will get blocked with leaf mulch in the autumn. You'll need to clean them out with a thin stick now and again.
Well, our old Previa diesel does 45mpg in mixed a suburban environment, more on long distance.

I would be extremely dissatisfied with a 45mpg hybrid.
Got that from my 306 hdi 15 years ago
My 2010 Renault diesel does 50 - 70mpg.
I have hyundai kona hybrid 1.6 petrol auto
Can get 50 plus towm as motor kick in
60 to 63 mpg on long run
can you toe a small caravan with this car
Got nowt to brag about had it economy wise.. my 2010 civic 1.8 petrol with 130k always returns 40 mpg and my rather abused 2012 1.6 hdi berlingo van easily does 60mpg down the motorway.
My A3 1.6TDI 70MPG motorway 50 urban
That’s the recommended price. Hybrids are all marked up because the chip shortages and high demand
The MPGs will probably go up a bit after a while, you've only been driving it for a week. It's still brand new
It's a new hybrid car!
It doesn't get anywhere near what a used Toyota hybrid returns on MPG!
My Land Rover Velar R-Design 2 litre diesel achieves 50 mpg regularly! Topped 57 mpg, on a run in the Netherlands. So 60 mpg, not that impressive.
It is if your current diesel does 14mpg on a run :)
If I'm lucky I can hit 60 downhill with a tail wind.
A diesel Golf from 2012 averages 55 mpg.

My old car, a 2014 diesel Mokka used to average 55mpg around town…. I miss that!
45 miles per gallon is not very good for a small hybrid. Plus you can’t compare it to a ford Kuga the sporage is a comparison to the Kuga.
45-50mpg !!! That’s terrible for such a new vehicle. My 2013 Astra estate does better than that.
My 2003 1.9tdi Passat that has been beaten to hell all its life gets 55mpg average all day.. this is such a waste of resources. 😂
I can get 90mpg out of my Astra diesel on a long run
Ellerine emeğine sağlık.
Abit shit then really? My 2011 2.4 diesel xc70 averages 40mpg… and its awd? We also have a peugeot 205 diesel wich gets 50 ish average..

Ripped off the Citroën air cross
Lol a 2013 diesel gets 70mpg

That's one rats looking car, I rather do 1mpg in something that looks half decent
How are you supposed to travel with a family if it fits one suitcase???
