Yes. Good video as always. One thing at the start, you might like to tell the users that Void Linux does not use SystemD. This is a impt point as this gives users a choice and they should know the init system is not the same as Arch.
Thanks for the positive feedback; I really appreciate it. Yes, you make a valid point. It didn't occur to me to talk about the init system. I forgot to mention it in my Bsd videos too.
You’re welcome. Thanks for the positive feedback. I really appreciate it. I think you’re asking about my autoapp script to install my favourite window managers and apps. A kind viewer taught me how to do it that way. I like it because it’s in alphabetical order and easy to read. If someone running the script doesn’t want a particular app, that line can be easily deleted. The autoapp script in my Arch folder has 87 lines. It was really hard to read and manage when in paragraph form.
They recommend you verify it, as do all Linux distributions. You verify the sha to make sure the file wasn't corrupted during download and the signature to ensure it's a valid ISO.
I really like VoidLinux. I have it setup from the ground up. But it seems to me that you can use it if you have the hardware that he likes it. I have setup on my desktop, there everything works. But on my HP laptops I never succeeded to function properly. On one of them the mouse freeze after some minutes. On the other one the sound doesn't work even I installed the missing drivers. I tried with the LTS kernel 6.1, 6.6. I can't use my HPs with Void :(. So now I'm back to OpenSuse. Thre everything works out of the box.
I am saving old phones, tablets, and laptops with Linux!
That's great!
@@linuxmench2118 Do you have old computers and electronics?
What do you install on phones? PostmarketOS?
My computers are old. I have one old iPad mini and a new iPad & iPhone.

I love xfce! It's my current desktop environment.
Yes, it's easy on system resources and easy to use.
I prefer doing package management with the xbps wrapper program vpm. Highly recommended.
I haven't looked at it. I'll have to give it a go.
Very detailed video, thanks for the effort. Interesting you spread the package install ( 25:00 ) over many lines. Why do you do that?

Mench, why do I have to verify a downloaded ISO from the official website?

It's best to stick with what's working for you.
I've been daily driving void for months after coming from arch and ot's honestly kind of been fire and forget
Interesting. I'm still driving Arch on my main computer.
I usually download a server only.
Okay, that's great, thanks for sharing.
