@@hopelessdecoy fastfetch is faster than neofetch. But also slower than nerdfetch. This is because nerdfetch only displays very little info, while fastfetch displayed an entire page of information. Even more information than neofetch. But still faster. So fast fetch technically has the highest speed to information ratio. Nerdfetch is minimal, which is what I like.

Oh wow... A... File manager... A task manager... An app that shows your specs... How insane and reality breaking... No app has ever done any of those things before... Thank you so much for not just click baiting your viewers! You're definitely not like those typical click-hungry youtubers at all!
Yeah because all the click hungry ones cover Linux terminal applications to really capture every click possible, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!! He's a regular Mr Beast or Logan Paul

Absolutely revolutionary! I mean, I would have just incorrectly called these "very useful", but obviously that would be under minding just how INSANE these all are! I'm gonna have to call in to work today, no way I can function after being delt such a direct shock to my nervous system.

Great one. Bravo !!! Please upload something with shell scripting with real - life examples , in order to check your content and enroll to your class ... Thank you :)
There is also cheat.sh, which is intended to be used with curl, such as "curl cheat.sh/cat", etc. It also works for programming languages, for example "curl cheat.sh/rust/arc". This can easily be combined to make tooling to fetch documentation.
you cannot make a tutorial video and ask to install with one specific command. apt works for a specific distros only and assuming everybody will use ubuntu or similar distro is a huge mistake.
That is now a help for only a handful of distros. Some of us do search the internet and find things for ourselves but if you plan on making a tutorial video and talk about how every linux user can do these, you should also know that the commands provided works for every distros out there. These kinda tutorials create a sense of confusion among those using red-hat based distros(dnf/yum), arch(pacman), openSUSE(zypper), gentoo(portage), slackware(pkgtools/slackpkg), void(xbps), solus(eopkg), nixos(nix), last but not the lease alpine(apx).
I know Hollywood is harmless but even I get a little edgy when my home directory name goes flying by. I guess it shows because it pulls at least some of its text from the computer it is running on.

Ya, I notice that neofetch has no longer support unless someone took over; so use fastfetch instead plus it is written in C not a script like neofetch. Thanks again for the video Linux Tex.
Better alternatives
2:29 - Ranger -> Yazi
5:01 - Axcel -> Aria2
6:52 - Neofetch -> FastFetch (features) or nerdfetch (speed)
7:30 - LSD -> erdtree or eza
11:12 - NCDU -> Dust (may or may not be better)
12:28 - TLDR -> tealdeer (a faster tldr client)
Wait FAST Fetch is not for speed?

btop -> bottom
@@wtfisgoingon535 imo btop is still better
Been using Linux for over 20 years and this was a breath of fresh air.

Why be nasty like this? Never understood why so many different computer science communities have so many people who behave like this online.
Your notes shows you installing axel in place of neofetch. however neofetch has for the most part been replaced with fastfetch.
Yep, it’s looking like fastfetch will be the neofetch equivalent of the next generation of Linux users.
I found that most of these utilities also work in the macOS command line (install using brew).
Great stuff. Thank for the video!
good one. tnx for tldr and btop
Most welcome buddy
Why neofetch? It has been discntinued.
yes. use nerdfetch instead
Yes fastfetch is far better and gives more info and is faster than neofetch
Great instructions. Wonder if you know which command is best to find out about hdd, sd, nvme read and write speed?
The speedtest package is available on official Arch repositories by the way
All packages are
this is a very informative video, as a linux/Mac user of more than 20 years, I found this very useful
Well, after watching your last few videos, I'm definitely subscribing. Great work!
Will this work in WSL2?
Tldr was really helpful, thanks
Glad you found it helpful buddy.
@@LinuxTextlrc is faster
What about tmux?
Very good selection. Congrats.
In GENERAL, can you RESTORE an accidentally deleted file, like you can in Windows?

Waiting for your video... Wonderful !
Thanx🎉
The speedtest is available as a snap package.
Thank you, I have indeed enjoyed it. My favourite is TLDR. Much appreciated, sir.

Very informative video sir, thank you for sharing 😊🙏
ranger works natively on ANY Mac via HomeBrew . Mac and Linux commands in the CLI are very similar.
Thanks for the video. I use mc (midnight Commander) if that can be classified as terminal application.
I have been using btop,neofetch and speedtest for long time but after watching this video I'm able to know other cool ajd useful tools...
bro i ran neofetch and a swat team kicked my door in, what have you done?
I did say some of these commands are dangerous. Didn't I 😉
alt +shift +down is not working ubuntu how to work on it
great video man thank's a lot
beautiful video, thanks =)
Glad you enjoyed the video buddy.
btop is defo a keeper, thanks

oooh, very dangerous commands you got there
lsd - is very explicit name for what terminal would look like 😄
Make a video on Zorin os 17.2

holy crap... Thank you
ty for yr info, superb vid! also, commenters are more than welcome/useful for me, ty all

Tldr is really nice.
axel also works natively on Mac
I gave a thumbsup just for hollywood
How do I quit ranger?
Type colon then type exit....like this (;exit) and press enter 😊
@@chachumurphy3928 hey bro theres also another way i found to quit. You just have to press Q, but thanks for the answer 👌
mc - midnight commander
Just use exa instead of lsd, its better
exa is unmaintained. use eza, a maintained fork. or try erdtree
You left out "Steam Locomotive".....
You know you Can watch starwars in your terminal too ?

Everyone still uses neofetch, even though has it been maintained in quite some time. It does still work though.

Lazygit
boring, always the same things ... btop, ranger, ... blablabla
