Something about this reminds me of my best nostalgic memoreis, but also the memories i tried to hide. It feels good to remember the good times, but at the same time, it gives me a weird feeling. One that is kinda hard to get rid of. One that makes me think about what could've happened. What could've happened if they never left? What about if the others never died? What would my life be like? Would i have continued with my hobbies and tried to get better so i can could finally beat my buddy David in the game i challenged him to a few days before he left? What would their lives be like? They've changed in bad ways. All of them. I'm one of the only people in my school who can actually see under their disguises. They pretend to be cool so people will like them, but then people abuse that so they can become popular. I've seen it happen to my old friends way too many times. It always hurts me whenever i see them fall for lies like that. I wanna walk over and drag them away, but at the same time, I don't wanna start any fights. I've managed to stay away from most people, but now because i have a few special ed friends, they all start assuming things. Like a couple weeks ago when a complete stranger walked up to me after giving me and my friends a dirty look, thinking we couldn't see her. I have good hearing, and I'm smart when it comes to figuring out whether or not somebody's lying. As soon as she said the words "Hey [my name], i like you", i looked away. Not because of the fact that we've never spoken before, but because of the way she said it. She had the same expression she has when talking to random people, and then the way she said it. She said it with barely any emotion. I've heard a rumor about her in the past about how she was always tryna trick boys, and she said it the same way they described. When i said "no", she didn't react at all, and she walked back over to her friend and sat back down. Her expression softened a bit when speaking to her friend, and i looked over at my friend, Mason. He didn't understand why i rejected her, as he thought she was one of the hottest girls in school. I told him everything, and the fact that she didn't even think about persuading or trying to change my mind. She just straight up walked away and confinued speaking to her friend. And that wasn't even the first time people tried ahit like that to me, and i got some tips from my sister who was always being bullied and made fun of in middle school for her looks. She had a huge glow up soon after, and they all stopped bullying her. She then explained to me how the guys (and some girls) started talking to her in a different way, and wheneevr they confessed, it was much different than before. And plus, most people nowadays don't care about anything but looks. If you're ugly in my school, good luck making friends. They'll bully you till you've heard everything possible, except for "sorry" or anything else kind. People woild stay away from you, treating you like a rat. An unwanted rodent that they think makes things worse. If you're hot... Well that's a whole different story. Back to the start with my old friends, we were always together, no matter how bad or good we looked. We were friends since kindergarten or first grade. Back when other kids didn't care about how you looked (at least, not in my classes). If you were kind and fun, they'd like you. That's how we became friends. But then after elementary school, they drifted apart. It became clear to me that they wouldn't want anything to do with me unless i worked on making myself hot. But why would I wanna do that? So i can get a girlfriend? That's a good reason, but then there's all of the cons, like the fact that people who bullied you before you became hot would wanna get closer to you and become friends. Not because of who you are, but how you look. In my school district, everything is all about looks. If you're ugly, you'll be bullied and pushed aside. If you're hot, you'll be sexualized and manipulated. If people think you're "special", you'll be manipulated, and people aill play with your feelings. If you're what they consider "normal", then it all depend on your money and/or appearance. At least, that's what it's like at my school. (holy shit i completely forgot what i was even commenting about, i just got a little carried away lol)
