I remember good few years ago he was on rte showcasing his collection if I’m not mistaken, hope he’s not selling that rwd starlet that thing is beyond iconic even from the Casey’s yard days.
So he's the Irish Tommy Fyeah of the Toyota AE86 & Starlet.
As a starlet turbo owner In the US, i would have an absolute field day poking through here

AE92 Truenos are pretty cheap if you can find one! (FWD though)
Nearly certain he lent me a set of pliers to start my car after snapping my keys in ferry’s yard at Donegal year before last. Even had that wee turbo starlet diffin in there too would never have guessed he had so many cars
He usually keeps the collection to himself, very honoured I was allowed have a poke around
Just amazing! The yellow starlet GT used to be mine, was myself that built it and had it painted in that stunning yellow! Great to see it in a good home!
Lovely car, What colour was it originally? And Im curious what shade of yellow it is ?
@@Barry.ONeill it was originally white and was originally a standard na 12v starlet, I converted it fully to a GT out another cat and used it for shows and drag racing, pretty sure it still holds the record at Crail in Scotland for the 1.3 class. It's BMW atacama yellow, I'm busy painting my K20 turbo EG drag car the same colour!

I'd say that collection would make someone living in Japan very jealous.
The knowledge and enthusiasm he has is very easy to see.
My first car was a EP91 that I imported back in 2004, which I spent a fortune on over the years.
Unfortunately it has been off the road since 2009, someday I'd love to see it
out on the road again.
At least I now know where to go now to get any parts I might need...

I imported the tercel or Corolla 2 originally In 2018. Won it at auction through JDM auction watch while drunk one night working in kuwait😂 delighted to see it in a collection looking great 🙌🏻

Such an underrated car
GT Starlets. I never understood the fascination to them but they are bascailly a coffin with rockets in the front pulling it forward like it was trying to break the land speed record.
I wish I still had my AE86, it's now in Ireland and I'd love to see it again, it's an early gold version and I still have the original number plates, tool roll and jack, best car ive ever had and the one I should never have sold!
I used to buy glanza parts off this chap in 2009/2010. I don't live in Ireland anymore and it's crazy to see how this man's collection has grown.

I'm on the fence on this, I'm kinda pissed 1 person has like 14 86s... He can't drive them, just hoard. I'd rather see them spread around and used. People hoarding them and buying them all up is why normal people can't get them now. Which is ironic given the reason this car was made.
Wouldn't be a problem if they were still worth €2000. Sounds like you're only jealous lad we'd all love a twincam but grow up you'll be giving out about is200s next.
He has imported most of these cars to sell once they are complete. If anything, it's a plus, to see more of these in circulation here considering the demand for them.

This man is my spirit animal. Since we didnt get Starlets, my collection is primarily Tercels and parts But I have Paseo parts, Sera parts and some Starlet parts. I would have more if I made more for a living lol

Even for me in Japan, the European specification AE86 is new.
Come to think of it, I was also running a Group A touring car at the time.😊
Cool! When we visited Japan, many people were unaware of these specifications, it is fascinating that Toyota had different parts for different regions.

Broadly speaking, Japan, the United States, Europe, and other countries differ according to the laws and regulations of each country.
In particular, the American spec AE86 had to be equipped with a 5-mile bumper and SAE standard equipment due to federal regulations on lighting, so it seems that it was equipped with a retractable (trueno specification in Japan) lamp.
2nd Magenta Red almost got same, already had Manchester bought 87'D reg uk GT Black Corolla INTRA German Mags then bought a house took all my money @ Time.

The EL31 is actually based on the Starlet platform. Its basically a hatchback Tercel. That is the 3rd Gen, EL41 and 51 followed til 1999.
Good to know! After doing a little research, I realised they are basically the exact same chassis as the American-sold Tercel of the same era.
@@juiceboxforyou same as the Japanese market Tercel / Corolla ii also, which were full of optional extras, much like the Starlet :) EL 41/51 4efte plug and play swaps are actually a common sight here in Malta.
