Golden Hour Catch: CSX G792/B225 Combo in 3x2x0 Formation Before the Snow Storm! 1/20/25

Before heading back home to Dade City to beat the impending 2025 Georgia snowstorm, I wrapped up my visit to Dalton Rail Platform with an incredible sighting: CSX G792, a combined G792/B225 combo train in a rare 3x2x0 configuration.
During the stunning golden hour at 6 PM, this massive train of nearly 800 axles rolled through, carrying loaded phosphate with:
CSXT #5284, #863, and #3090 up front, Pulling loaded phosphate cars.
CSXT #3264 and #905 as mid-train DPUs pulling empty grain cars.
Adding to the action, the CSX crew worked on adjusting the track diamond, addressing a false-positive activation, making this catch even more unique. With the beautiful sunset, 25°F cold, and all captured in 4K, this was the perfect way to end a fantastic railfanning trip before the long 5-hour drive home.
